Chapter 12 - Rapid Growth

At that moment, Jason's personal status panel unfolded before him in a shimmer of contract light—

Name: Jason

Level: 14

Class: Dragon Tamer (First Advancement)

Strength: 145

Agility: 125

Spirit: 146

Endurance: 149

Bonded Dragon: Black Dragon King · Deathwing (Hatchling Form)

Equipment: None

Skills:

[Dragon Taming] (Active · Lv.1) — Form a contract with a dragon, binding it as your battle companion. (Dragons only.)

[Bloodlink] (Passive · Lv.2) — Fuse bloodlines with your bonded dragon, gaining 1/10 of its attributes and inheriting half of its passive abilities. (Current Bonus: Strength +97, Agility +77, Spirit +96, Endurance +98; Damage Reduction +30%; Negative Status Resistance +50%; Self-Healing & Stamina Recovery +300%)

[Dragon Claw] (Active · Lv.2) — Awaken the dragon's blood, transforming your arms into dragon claws to strike. Power scales with the dragon's stats.

[Dragon's Rally] (Active · Lv.2) — Inspire yourself and your dragon, increasing both parties' four core attributes and combat power by 40%.

[Dragonfang Strike] (Active · Lv.2) — Channel the power of dragon's breath into a single, steel-rending finishing blow.

Looking over the string of numbers, Jason couldn't help but grin.

At level 14, his attributes already surpassed most level-24 professional warriors—and in some aspects, he was even stronger!

This god-tier panel was thanks not only to the massive boost from [Bloodlink], but also to… the Dragonblood Elixir he had obtained from the God-tier Treasure Map.

At first, he had only been thrilled about securing the dragon contract and hadn't thought much about the potion.

But after studying its effects closely, he realized—it was a priceless treasure capable of directly increasing all attributes by 20 points!

If auctioned in the Royal Capital's magic potion exchange, it would easily fetch a sky-high price—two million Dragon Coins, at the very least.

Compared to gold, true strength was the real foundation.

So without the slightest hesitation, he downed the potion in one gulp—instantly boosting all four of his core attributes by twenty points.

Over the past four days, he hadn't relied solely on Nyx for the kills.

While he could have easily let the dragon flatten the battlefield for him, Jason knew full well—

if he didn't temper himself in real combat, he would eventually become nothing more than dead weight behind his dragon.

That was why he actively chose certain prey to kill with his own hands, treating every battle as training and trial.

Through live combat, all of his skills had reached level 2, and the one that pleased him most was [Bloodlink]—

Although the stat-sharing ratio hadn't changed, it now came with a brand-new effect: inheriting the dragon's passive abilities.

Which meant he not only gained a portion of Nyx's raw stats, but also effectively possessed:

Black Dragon Scales (Damage Reduction)

Dragon Bloodline (Resistance)

Dragon Physique (Regeneration)

Even at half the potency of Nyx herself, these abilities pushed his survivability and endurance to a level that defied belief.

At this point, even without summoning Nyx, his combat power alone could only be described as monstrous.

If his status panel were shown to the public, it would leave countless jaws hanging open—

This is a level 14 apprentice? Even if you told me he was a level 30 warlord, I'd believe it!

Closing his status panel, Jason felt a rush of satisfaction.

He walked over to the corpse of the Three-Headed Blood Lion and bent down to pull out its three massive fangs.

The materials from a level-25 quasi-BOSS were valuable—these fangs were both incredibly hard and highly resilient, perfect for forging daggers or crafting armor-piercing arrowheads. Each one was worth at least a thousand Dragon Coins.

If the hide had been intact, its value would have been even higher—

but Nyx's attacks were always thunderous and overwhelming, leaving much of the premium leather damaged beyond use.

Even so, his pack was now stuffed to the brim with materials. Once he returned to the city, they would fetch at least two hundred thousand Dragon Coins—enough for him and Daisy to live comfortably in the city for two to three years.

After all, Nyx wasn't just powerful—she was also battle-hungry.

During their days in the Boulder Plains, her fighting style could only be described as absolute, indiscriminate annihilation.

In Earth terms, it was like:

Even a fish swimming in the river would get scooped up, smacked around twice, and tossed back in.

Jason was still collecting loot when Nyx descended from the sky.

Now, with her level having risen, she stood a full three meters tall, her wings casting a dark, curtain-like shadow over the ground.

And yet, those crimson-gold slit pupils still shimmered with the same affectionate light.

Seeing his "little princess" lowering her massive head to nuzzle him again, Jason quickly raised a hand to brace against her brow scales, smiling wryly.

"Nyx, my little frame can't handle you anymore. If you try to cling to me like before, I'll end up as a pancake."

Rooaaar—whiiine…

Nyx let out a plaintive cry, her expression exactly like a golden retriever who'd just been denied cuddles, even her tone dripping with sulky charm.

Jason sighed in defeat. Reaching down, he tore off a strip of her favorite sinewy meat from the Blood Lion's corpse and tossed it to her.

"Don't give me that look… you're too big now, and there's nothing I can do. Here, have some meat and don't fuss, alright?"
