Chapter 3 - chapter3

The older man, seeing that reinforcements had arrived, gritted his teeth and said, "It's that punk—don't let him get away!"

The hotel corridor lighting was dim. The man stood sideways, holding the woman in his arms, so the manager didn't see his face.

The manager had often benefited from Mr. Zhu in the past, so now he intended to return the favor.

With a wave of his hand, several security guards surrounded the man.

The man showed no fear. His sharp gaze swept swiftly over the security guards and the manager.

Since leaving the military, it had been a long time since he'd had a proper workout. He hadn't brought his bodyguards tonight—this would be a good warm-up.

When their eyes met, the manager finally saw the man's face. His legs went weak instantly, and his speech became stammered.

"M-M… Master Mu… it's… it's you…"

"W-When did you arrive? Why didn't we receive any notice that you were coming?"

Mu Yuting's eyes were razor-sharp, a glint of icy coldness in their depths.

"You talk too much."

His voice was clear and pleasant to the ear, yet it was like it came from within a block of ice—carrying a bone-chilling frost.

The M Hotel was part of the Mu family's business empire. Since the day it was built, Room 1818 had been Mu Yuting's private suite.

Coming to his hotel, did he need to inform anyone? How stupid.

"Yes, yes, I spoke out of turn!"

The manager slapped himself, hating Mr. Zhu with every fiber of his being. Of all the people to provoke, he just had to go after the Mu family's eldest young master.

This was a man who lived at the pinnacle of the social pyramid—young, yet already in full control of the Mu Group. His wealth was beyond measure, but more importantly, he was ruthless and decisive in business. In the whole of Jiangcheng, who dared go against Young Master Mu?

Young Master Mu?

Hearing those words, Mr. Zhu's jaw dropped in shock.

The Mu heir was notoriously low-profile, never appearing in the media, so Mr. Zhu had never seen him.

The manager himself had only caught a glimpse of him once during a rare hotel event.

"Young Master Mu, I failed to recognize Mount Tai when it was right before me—I know I was wrong! Please… just treat me like a fart and let me go!"

Mr. Zhu's voice trembled as he dropped to his knees with a thud.

At that moment, over a dozen men in black walked down the corridor in perfect formation.

Mu Yuting's cold voice rang out: "Deal with him."

"Yes, Young Master Mu!" the leader replied. "We guarantee he won't see the sunrise tomorrow."

Mu Yuting carried the woman back to his suite and tossed her onto the soft sofa.

In his 29 years of life, he had never been close to a woman—more disciplined than a monk—and yet tonight, he had brought home a drunken stranger?

Even he found it strange.

Because of the drug's effect, Lin Xiaonuan lay on the sofa flushed, her whole body burning up.

It was as if a fire was raging inside her…

The heat drove her to her feet. She shrugged off her coat and the half-torn skirt the older man had ripped.

Staggering, she sought somewhere cool.

But after taking just one step, she slipped and fell straight into the man who had been about to pour her a glass of water, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

So cool…

Her small hands moved restlessly, squeezing the hard muscles of his abs.

Solid…

The man froze.

This woman… not only was she clinging to his waist, she was squeezing?

Damn it!

"Let go…" he barked.

"No, no—just a little longer," Lin Xiaonuan murmured, refusing to release him.

He was exasperated to the extreme. With clear disgust, he pried her hands off and flung them aside.

But his strength was too much—her soft body lost balance instantly and nearly fell.

His reflexes were fast—he caught her by the slim waist, bringing her back into his arms.

Without another thought, he scooped her up around the waist, intending to toss her back onto the sofa—

Better to keep her from making more trouble.

But Lin Xiaonuan refused to behave in his arms. Her restless little hands roamed across him without the slightest regard for her safety.

"Damn woman—behave yourself!" he growled.

"No! No!" she shot back.

She ignored his anger, becoming even bolder. The drug's fire inside her had grown into a blazing inferno—utterly beyond her control.
