Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: THE BOOK OF ORIGIN

Collins found himself in an empty, blank white space. He stood up and searched around but found nothing. As there was no time or direction here, he began to wander. He tried to open his status window but couldn't, which made him guess that this space wasn't the same as earth. Collins didn't know how long he had been walking, but he didn't feel tired; he just kept walking. After a while, he found a tiny blue light that appears to be far off in distance. He began to run towards the blue light, but no matter how he ran, he couldn't get close; it was as if he couldn't get close to it no matter how hard he ran. He stopped running and tried to understand if there were any rules to the blank space. Furthermore, he closed his eyes and began to walk towards the blue light. After taking ten steps with his eyes closed, he felt warmth around his body and opened his eyes. He saw a bright, glowing, big blue book in front of him; it looked as if it contained all the information of the universe. Its thick cover was filled with runes that he couldn't understand, but there were two words written on it that he understood; he didn't know how, but he just did.' The Book of Origin' that was what the words meant.

Collins instantly understood what this Book of Origin can do; it can gather information as long as it is written, no matter whether that information still exists or not. Collins was amazed with this; as a book lover, he knew what kind of sensation this book can cause if people were to know about it. It also meant no written secret can be hidden from the Book of Origin. But that doesn't concern Collins; what made him even happier was that the Book of Origin can compile information about a specific thing and convert it for the user, and it can also convert that information into skill. The Book of Origin meant endless knowledge and endless skills. If the gods didn't have anything similar to the Book of Origin, then it meant endless power and advantage over the gods. With the Book of Origin, there's a possibility of making the gods pay in the future. Collins raised his hands and held on to the Book of Origin; a bright blue glow spread out of the Book of Origin and enveloped Collins body. Collins opened his eyes and found himself in the real world, no longer in the blank white space. His mind was clearer than before; it was as if he could perceive things differently but didn't know how."Thank goodness that you are awake." He heard James voice filled with anxiety and relief."What the hell happened to you, huh?" James helped Collins to sit up and asked him."James if I tell you that our revenge plan for the future is possible, will you believe?" Collins couldn't help but ask with a hint of excitement in his voice. James looked at Collins as if looking at a fool; he shook his head and said, "I know you said that to comfort me, but do you think that's possible?" Collins frowned and asked, "What made you say that?" "Look at the always wise one now a fool." James mocked Collins."Do you think it's possible?" He continued, "If you are the gods, will you give the people you considered your playthings something that could make them become as strong as you?" Colins shook his head."That's it. Although when you said it before it gave me a new purpose, after you fainted and I was guarding you, I thought about it and realized that it was impossible," James said dejectedly. Collins knew that what James said was true: you can't trust your slave with a gun that they could use to kill you at anytime. But that was only when he had the cosmic leveling system, but together with his Book of Origin, he had no doubt that he could even surpass the gods. "You are right," Collins agreed. "Of course, I'm right," James aggrieved."But that was if it was in the past," Collins said mysteriously."What do you mean?" James asked, befuddled."I just awakened my attribute," Collins said. If it was other people, he would never dare to reveal his attribute or what it can do. But James was different; they were childhood friends who have been a lot together, both in joy and pain. They never hid anything against one another, which made their friendship evolve into brotherhood. James eyes sparkling as he asked, "What is your attribute? I wanted to ask before, but you passed out in pain." "Come closer," Collins whispered. As a person who reads numerous novels, he knew that there could be something around that could listen to their conversation. Collins whispered everything to James. James eyes lit up as he couldn't help but exclaim, "THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!" Collins hurriedly covered James mouth, but it was too late; the faraway monsters heard it, and they began to find traces. They located Collins and James area and began to chase "RUUUNNN!" Collins and James shouted together as they began to run while the monsters were chasing from behind."JAMES, I HATE YOU!!!" Collins shouted while running."IS IT MY FAULT? Who ASKED you to tell me something so incredible?" James retorted."THEN FROM NOW ON I WILL NEVER TELL YOU ANYTHING." Collins also retorted."I AM SORRY SIR, PLEASE DON'T GET ANGRY WITH THIS LITTLE ME." James pretended to cry even in their chaotic situation, leaving Collins speechless."SHUT UP, LET US THINK OF A WAY TO GET OUT OF THIS SITUATION." They kept running until they saw a building ahead. They knew that there might be insect monsters inside, but the chance of surviving the insect monster is higher than the grotesque monster behind them. "LET'S DECEIVE THE MONSTERS, FOLLOW MY LEAD," Collins said all of a sudden.James didn't question and only followed Collins.Collins ran to the backyard and hid behind a container, followed by James. After a while the monsters chased passed them; only when all the monsters were gone did Collins and James forcefully open the door with their superhuman strength and close it.They took in deep breath and looked at one another and smiled; they just escaped death.
