" You owe me a dare then, but I'll save it for later," Travis said with a sly grin, leaning back as if already plotting.

Eve narrowed her eyes but smirked right back, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You better not use it at school. Let's continue, kay? My turn now."

She tilted her head, studying him with a glimmer of mischief. "Okay, do you plan on getting married in the future? If you do, who would it be with?"

Travis didn't even blink. "That's pretty easy— you, of course."

His words hung in the air for a heartbeat, striking her harder than she expected. Eve froze, her playful composure slipping as her chest tightened.

Heat crept up her cheeks, and she quickly looked away, tucking her knees to her chest. "Well, only if I agree to that, of course."

Travis raised a brow, his grin widening. "Oh, so you don't agree?"

She whipped her head back toward him, waving her hands nervously.

"No, it's not like that! I—I'm happy, really. I'm just… shocked that you'd want to marry me," she stammered, her voice caught somewhere between flustered and thrilled.

Travis leaned forward, voice softer now, sincerity bleeding through his teasing tone. "Why is that? I mean, you're beautiful—last I checked, which is right now. You're probably most guys' dream girl. Including me. So why wouldn't I want to marry you?"

Eve's throat went dry. Her heart pounded so loudly she was sure he could hear it. His words weren't casual they were deliberate, real.

She hugged her legs tighter, trying to suppress the giddy warmth bubbling inside her. "Wow… that's really nice of you to say. I never thought I'd hear someone say that to me." She smiled faintly, eyes shimmering as she whispered, "Thanks, Travis."

He smiled back, slow and genuine, the kind of smile that made her chest ache in ways she didn't want to admit. The playful game suddenly felt like it was peeling back layers, exposing something raw between them.

"Nothing," he shrugged, keeping it casual despite the tension sparking in the air.

"Just telling the truth. Now my turn—muhahaha." He gave an exaggerated villain laugh before leaning closer. "Are you a virgin? If not, who or what broke it?" His smirk was sharp, his eyes dancing with amusement.

Eve's whole body stiffened, heat rushing into her cheeks. She whipped her gaze away, lips parting in shock. "W—what kind of question is that!?"

Inside, panic was setting in.

' does he know I used to fuck myself with house appliances? ' she thought, mortified, her face burning crimson. ' Then again, I only used them on my ass… so technically, I'm still a virgin. Okay. Don't panic.'

Finally, she swallowed and forced herself to look at him again, though her eyes flickered nervously. "Yes, I am a virgin. So answer this—are you still a virgin? If not, who took it?" she shot back, her voice slightly shaky, her confidence cracking under the weight of her own fluster.

Travis chuckled at her defensive tone, leaning back with a hand behind his head.

"I am a virgin as well," he said simply, though amusement curled at his lips.

He let the silence linger just long enough to make her squirm before adding, "Alright then… let's move on to another question. Something deeper this time."

Eve arched a brow, though her heart hadn't slowed. "Deeper, huh? Okay then… what's your darkest secret?"

The shift in his tone had her pulse quickening for a new reason. The playfulness faded slightly as Travis leaned forward, his eyes thoughtful.

The candle-lit glow of the room seemed to close in around them, the air heavier now.

Eve bit her lip unconsciously, bracing herself as she waited. She could tell from his expression—this wasn't going to be a joke.

While Travis and Eve continued their back-and-forth on the fountain's edge, the creak of a door echoed from across the courtyard. Grace and Odette stepped out of the tattoo shop, locking the place up for the night.

The faint scent of ink and antiseptic drifted out before the door shut, leaving only the night air and the dim hum of the street lamps overhead.

As they strolled toward the garage, Grace noticed Eve first. She wasn't surprised—Eve often came out here to cool her head, a blunt in hand or simply to brood in the silence of night. What did surprise her was the boy sitting beside her.

"Hmm…" Odette's eyes lit up instantly, her lips curling into a mischievous grin. "Well, well. Who's this hunk of meat? He looks good enough to eat. I'd love to have a taste." Her gaze raked over Travis shamelessly, eyes sparkling with raw curiosity and playful hunger.

Grace's head snapped toward her with a sharp glare, the kind that could slice steel. Odette only chuckled, clearly entertained by the reaction.

"What? You jealous?" Odette teased, lowering her voice into a sultry purr, deliberately prodding.

"No, I'm not," Grace said firmly, crossing her arms as they walked. "Let's just go inside. I don't want you interrupting them." Her tone was final, but there was a flicker of protectiveness in her voice, directed not only at Eve but also, oddly enough, at Travis.

Odette tilted her head, that wicked grin never fading. "Interrupting? Please. I'd only be spicing things up." She licked her lips dramatically before shrugging, eyes flickering back to the fountain. "And besides, you know I have a preference when it comes to men."

Her words carried layers, playfulness, danger, and an undercurrent of honesty that made Grace's stomach twist.

Then, as if to prove her point, Odette let her gaze linger on Travis once more, throwing him a deliberate wink. Her stare was intense, dripping with boldness, a look that could make anyone's skin prickle.

Grace rolled her eyes and quickened her pace, muttering, "Now let's go cuddle. You've been missing my warmth these days, haven't you?"

The casual jab made Grace's cheeks warm despite herself. She shot Odette a skeptical side-eye but didn't argue, slipping ahead toward the garage door.

Odette lingered just a moment longer, her eyes still locked on Travis, an unreadable glimmer in her gaze, equal parts hunger and curiosity before finally turning away and following Grace inside.

The fountain bubbled softly behind them, leaving Eve and Travis in a silence that suddenly felt heavier, as if the encounter had shifted something in the air.

The two continued to ask each other more questions, trading playful banter back and forth. The mood was light, their laughter echoing softly through the quiet park. Every answer led to another, like peeling back layers, and for once, both of them felt like the world outside didn't matter.

That calm shattered when the distant thump of bass-heavy music rolled through the night air. It grew louder, accompanied by off-beat chanting and rowdy voices.

Travis's smile faded. He looked toward the source and spotted a group of three guys swaggering down the street like they owned it chains glinting under the streetlights, baggy clothes hanging loose, their whole demeanor screaming "wannabe thugs from your classic American movie."

He sighed and muttered under his breath, his jaw tightening. ' I forgot these dudes would pull up today.'

Pushing himself up from the fountain, Travis squared his shoulders, but before he could move forward, Eve quickly tugged at his sleeve.

"Don't," she whispered firmly, shaking her head. "It's not worth it. Let's just go. They've been hanging around here a lot lately, and today they're just showing up later than usual."

Travis studied her for a moment, then exhaled slowly. "…Alright. Let's go. I'll walk you home."

They started down the sidewalk, trying to ignore the music and drunken shouts closing in.

But just as they were crossing the curb, Travis felt a shift in the air behind him—something flying toward his head.

His body reacted before his mind did. With a sharp tilt, he dodged to the side, a beer can whizzing past and clattering onto the pavement. Foam hissed out across the ground.

Travis froze. Then, slowly, he turned back.

The three punks were snickering, their leader Tyrone grinning wide, clearly proud of his throw.

"Yo, look what we got here! What you gonna d—"

Tyrone's words cut off with a strangled gasp. In the blink of an eye, Travis was on him, his hand clamped tight around his neck. With effortless strength, Travis hoisted him clean off the ground, his feet dangling and kicking uselessly.

"You better watch where you throw your shit," Travis growled, his tone low and dangerous, his eyes cold. "Next time, you won't get a warning."

He yanked Tyrone forward and hurled him toward his crew. The two other guys scrambled, barely managing to catch him before he face-planted on the concrete.

For a moment, the three tried to hold their tough act, puffing out their chests, muttering curses under their breath. But the sheer intensity in Travis's glare cut right through them, leaving them frozen in place.

Finally, one of them swallowed hard and muttered, "Aight, man, we'll leave…"

They dragged Tyrone back, retreating quickly, their earlier swagger completely gone.

Travis let out a sharp breath, unclenching his fists before turning back toward Eve.

She was smiling—no, glowing. Her eyes shone with admiration, her lips tugging upward as if she couldn't help herself.

"…What's got you smiling like that?" Travis asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing," she said quickly, though her voice was soft, genuine warmth seeping through. "Just… happy, I guess."

Travis chuckled lightly, shaking his head as they crossed the road together. Soon, they arrived outside her house, the faint glow of the porch light flickering above.

"Thanks for spending time with me, Travis. I really loved every second of it," she said warmly, handing him her bag with a small smile.

"Yeah, same here," he replied, patting her gently on the head before stepping back. "Well, I gotta go now. Peace, Eve."

Before she could say another word, Travis leaned forward, broke into a sprint, and vanished down the dimly lit street like a shadow dissolving into the night.

Eve stood frozen for a beat, watching the space he had just occupied. Then she chuckled softly, shaking her head with an amused smile.

"…I just hope he doesn't cum as fast as he runs," she thought mischievously, before slipping inside.
