Kissing her felt like what I should have done a long time ago. I felt warm, like I had finally found a missing part of me that I should have searched everywhere for.
When I stopped, I could not help but stare into her eyes for some seconds.
"It's funny, Cassandra..." I said, grabbing her hand as we walked down the corridor.
I could feel her gaze on me as we walked to the living room, but I wasn't looking at her.
"What's funny?" she asked me in a weak voice.
"I swear to myself I was never going to let any woman into my life. I mean, having a partner for me was a bad idea from the beginning. I did not want to do what my parents did, but strangely, I can't stop myself anymore," I said to her.
"Donald, I cannot guarantee you that what you're doing is the right thing." she said to me, and that was when I turned around and stood there staring at her as I held her hand in mine.
