Although Hiro Saitou wanted to find that scumbag and take him down, he didn't even know where to begin.
In his previous life, he had only seen the first episode of Oshi no Ko. He knew there was a mastermind lurking in the shadows—but no actual information on who it was.
If he stayed out of Ai Hoshino's way, maybe the story would follow its original path, and he could quietly uncover the hand behind the curtain.
But that was too risky. Hiro wasn't willing to gamble with her life.
In the anime, Ai Hoshino gave birth to twins—both reincarnated souls. One of them had died just a few years ago and was the same age as Ai. The other had only recently passed away. Both reincarnated at birth.
Was that really just a coincidence?
Not to mention, Ai herself seemed to grow unusually fast after giving birth.
Could there really be supernatural forces at work in this world?
Hiro stared up at the clouds, lost in thought.
In his previous life, he'd written off those plot elements as just storytelling devices. Fantasy.
But now... this world was real. He had a system. Reincarnation was real.
Maybe gods actually exist in this world too.
Unfortunately, his system didn't offer any combat skills or divine powers.
He browsed the system shop casually. Most items were related to the arts—music, movies, and novels. Pure entertainment. Nothing that could help him fight.
Only the lottery had a chance of granting something rare.
He hadn't seen any "aura" or "spiritual" items available for purchase—not even a second peace talisman.
So much for divine backup...
"I hate lotteries," Hiro muttered under his breath. His luck with them wasn't bad, but it didn't mean much if he couldn't control the outcome.
"Hiro-kun?" Ai's voice pulled him out of his spiral.
She stood in front of him, gently waving her hand in front of his eyes.
"Are you okay?"
He blinked, then smiled as he pressed his palm softly against hers. "I can't hide anything from you, huh?"
"But don't worry. It won't affect me. Remember our agreement."
Later, Hiro planned to feign interest in idol training and use that as an excuse to ask the president what kind of tutor Ai would need.
That way, he could observe her original life path before he interfered—and eventually track down the man who ruined everything.
He didn't know how long it would take.
He also needed to find out where that doctor, Goro, was located. In the anime, the hospital's location had never been mentioned.
There was still time—once Ai turned sixteen, she'd lie to the president during the winter and trick him into choosing a certain "safe" hospital.
When that happened, Hiro could finally pinpoint the location.
Four years. That's how long I've got.
By then, Ai would've performed enough to earn new items from the system. Maybe even more peace talismans.
With those, Hiro could safely investigate the doctor's workplace without risking anyone's life.
Everything had to be planned carefully.
"Hey, the paperwork's done. Let's head back."
The president returned with the dean, having finished all the formalities.
"Now that you're taking in new students," the president asked Ai, "do you plan to transfer schools?"
Ai hesitated. "I think I'll stay at my current school. I don't want to trouble you."
"I think you should transfer," Hiro cut in before she could decline. "A good school matters too. Everyone gets an education by law, sure, but teacher quality varies a lot. Good teachers make things fun to learn. Bad ones just read off the textbook like they're casting sleep spells."
The president raised an eyebrow. "So are you saying my teachers were terrible?"
Ai giggled. "Is that really true?"
"I'd never lie," Hiro replied with a sly grin. "I get perfect scores every time, don't I?"
Of course, it wasn't that his school was amazing—he just had memories from his past life. For him, the lessons were child's play.
"So Ai, come to my school. You'll get a better education," he said with mock confidence, throwing a dramatic thumb to his chest.
Ai blinked. "Huh? Are you sure?"
"Good grades help with your idol career too," Hiro added smoothly.
The president nodded in agreement. "That's true. A new environment might be just what you need. Promise you'll transfer, Ai?"
Ai thought about her current school. She didn't have many friends. No one she was particularly close to.
Maybe starting over wouldn't be so bad...
"Alright. I'll transfer."
"Yay!" Hiro cheered, pumping a fist in the air.
Though he'd exaggerated about the school's quality, the system's bond ensured that just being near him would help Ai improve academically.
That part's real.
"Since we've decided, let's get everything ready this weekend so you can start on Monday."
Back in the car, the president drove while Hiro sat in the front passenger seat. He took out his phone and casually searched "Dr. Goro."
Hundreds of unrelated results came up.
Of course. That name's too common.
"By the way," Hiro asked, keeping his tone light, "how do you plan to train Ai?"
The president didn't even glance over. "Professionals will handle it. I'm no idle coach."
"Professionals?" Hiro echoed. "Mind sending me their contacts? I want to learn more about how they train idols."
"Give it up," the president said with a chuckle. "You think you can outdo pros just by hanging around them?"
"I'm not trying to replace anyone. I just want to see what level they're at."
The president glanced at him briefly. "Fine. I'll send you the contacts when we get home."
Hiro gave a thoughtful nod. "I've studied training methods already. I just want to compare."
"Say what you like. You'll see the difference soon enough," the president said casually, amused by Hiro's confidence. He figured this was just a curious phase—something the kid would grow out of.
Still, since Hiro was family, he couldn't be reckless with his development.
Ai trusted him, after all. And trust was a heavy thing.
If Hiro had brought up this interest earlier, the president might've hired a student to secretly test him—to see if his nephew had the real skills to train idols.
That would've cost money… But it'd be worth it to know for sure.
Let's see how far this kid thinks he can go...
