Graveyard Core Layer – Memory Bloom Triggered
New Zone Unlocked: MEMORY TRIALS
Warning: Zone draws directly from player-thread trauma logs.
Success = Reinforced soul stability. Failure = forced rewrite or erasure.
The Graveyard started remembering.
Not in words.
In rooms.
Each one shaped like a decision we didn't get right.
Each one filled with echoes of moments we wanted buried.
The system had opened the Memory Trials.
Not to test us.
But to judge us.
We stood before the first trial gate, located where Trial Zero once began.
The obsidian archway flickered with old error messages—flashes of static, fragments of loss.
Echo-13 analyzed it, her code arm twitching.
"It's pulling from your personal death logs," she said. "Your guilt, your failures. The Game's built a reflection layer."
Orion grimaced. "Let me guess. We have to survive it."
"No," I said. "We have to make peace with it."
[Trial Initiated – Memory Sequence: Trey Laurent]
Title: "The Choice Not Made"
Enter alone or with soul-linked anchors?
Trinity grabbed my wrist.
"We go together."
The gate opened.
Inside, the air bent sideways.
We stood on a familiar street—my childhood neighborhood. But it was off.
Colors flickered like old film. The sky was too low. Every door was open, but no one stood behind them.
Then I saw him.
A boy in a hoodie.
Bleeding from a wound in his chest.
He looked up at me with wide, furious eyes.
"You left me."
It was me.
The version who died.
Not the hero.
Just the scared kid who didn't make the right call.
Trinity stepped forward. "That's not real—"
"No," I said, holding her back. "It is."
I knelt in front of the bleeding version of myself.
"I didn't know how to save you."
"You didn't even try," he spat. "You let yourself be erased. You were ready to disappear."
The Trial shook.
The world trembled.
My Mark began to split.
I closed my eyes.
And said the truth.
"You're right. I gave up. But that's why I fight now. Not to erase you… but to make your end mean something."
I held out my hand.
"Come with me."
He stared at it.
Then nodded once.
And vanished.

Outside, Orion and Echo faced their own gates.
Different fears.
Different regrets.
Orion's was labeled: "The One I Couldn't Save."
Echo's gate simply read: "System: ERROR."
We didn't go in with them.
Some memories you face alone.
When we regrouped, the sky above the Graveyard flickered.
The system's voice echoed in all of us:
"Memory integrity stabilizing. Death Engine response delayed."
But only for now.
And far beneath the grave-rooted code…
A new chamber began to glow.
The Engineheart.
Closer than ever.
