Just as Orbiya was about to speak, James opened the Anywhere Door again, and surprisingly, it led directly inside the Omniscient Tree!
At this moment, all the scholars of Ohara turned their heads simultaneously to look this way. James was holding Robin's hand as he walked over. He asked Orbiya, "Aren't you coming?"
Orbiya quickly hurried over. The scholars were first stunned, then they all recognized her. Wasn't this Orbiya? How did she come back?
Orbiya began to explain how she and the other thirty-three scholars from Ohara had formed a historical text investigation team to travel the world, only to be discovered by the Navy. The Navy eventually found evidence of their origin from Ohara through clues on their companions and was now rushing here with the intent to eliminate all the scholars!
Robin heard the same from Sauro at the seaside. So the mother and daughter shared the same goal: to save the scholars of the Omniscient Tree!
But Dr. Cloverbell smiled slightly and said, "We cannot leave! If we leave, who will protect the priceless treasures here? These are the gems of human civilization, and we must guard them with our lives!"
"In fact, I think you can still rescue something now!"
Just as everyone was ready to sacrifice themselves, James spoke.
"Who are you...?" Dr. Cloverbell asked.
"I am the user of the Door Fruit. I can open doors to anywhere in the world. You probably just saw how I brought Orbiya and Robin here, right? Doctor, you should now think about where to transfer the books inside the Omniscient Tree. I can open a door to any place you want!"
These respected scholars didn't want to die under the Navy's slaughter order. Since James had the ability, why not help them?
Sure enough, no one wanted to die. Now that such a miraculous person was helping them, it must be the Omniscient Tree blessing them! Everyone began discussing excitedly.
After a few minutes, they reached a decision.
Orbiya said, "During our many years outside, our expedition team has been to many remote islands, but if we want an island where the Navy definitely won't find us, it has to be the Mist Island inside the Calm Belt!"
"When we explored the Calm Belt, we used large paddle-sail ships. Of course, the Calm Belt is home to many Sea Kings. Fortunately, our team had a Whisper Fruit user who could communicate with the Sea Kings. This helped us avoid several attacks in the Calm Belt."
Whisper Fruit? James remembered this was the fruit the little girl from the Millennium Dragon story had. That girl could communicate even with the Millennium Dragon, so talking to Sea Kings would be plausible.
Orbiya continued, "The Mist Island is shrouded by fog year-round, similar to the Deadly Triangle in the Grand Line. When our ship entered the fog, our compass failed completely. The crew rowed desperately, like headless flies, and by chance, we landed on an island in the fog. The island isn't large, but it has mountains, rivers, and some delicious fruit trees. We replenished food and fresh water there, barely escaping the fog alive. So I believe transferring the books to Mist Island is the safest option."
After hearing Orbiya's description, James silently told his Anywhere Door to open to that island.
He twisted the door open.
Orbiya was the first to run inside. It was really the small island where her ship had gotten lost before. Even the temporary wooden huts the crew built by the shore were still there! It was unbelievable!
Amazing!
The scholars were overjoyed. Under Dr. Cloverbell's command, they began moving the massive amount of books from the Omniscient Tree and stacking them on Mist Island. To speed up the process, James opened the Anywhere Door directly above Mist Island, so the scholars only had to throw the books into the door, and the books would fall onto Mist Island. This saved a lot of time and effort. Later, the scholars would go onto the island to organize the books; otherwise, time would run out.
Everything proceeded in an orderly fashion. James saw Robin running around in the crowd and hurriedly pulled her over.
"Robin, don't cause trouble. Let's go to the top floor of the library to monitor how long before the Navy arrives and act as a lookout for everyone." Holding Robin's hand, James went upstairs. Looking at the huge library, he felt deeply moved. Could they save all these books this time? It seemed time was running out!
"Stop moving the books like this! Just throw them down directly. After everything is thrown down, I will open a door at the bottom, and then we can all throw the books into the door. Now is not the time to cherish the books—we must race the Navy against time!"
Hearing James's suggestion, everyone realized the truth. Running up and down carrying books would take forever! They hurried to throw the books down!
Rumble rumble rumble!
Suddenly, the library seemed to rain books. Countless books fell like rain and piled up on the bottom floor, getting higher and higher. In less than an hour, all the books were thrown down!
James opened the Anywhere Door lying flat on the floor, and everyone pushed stacks of books into the door, dropping them onto Mist Island. This was even faster than throwing books down. In less than half an hour, all the books were transferred.
At that moment, faint gunfire sounded outside. Was the Navy arriving soon?
"Everyone, hurry! To Mist Island!"
When the last book was transferred, James changed the exit of the door to the ground. Dr. Cloverbell waved his hand, and the scholars—about thirty in total—entered the door one after another, all disappearing inside.
Orbiya held Robin's hand and looked at James from the other side of the door. "Aren't you coming?"
James chuckled, "I want to stay and see the Navy's final expression."
After saying this, James closed the Anywhere Door.
The door led to a resident building not far from the Omniscient Tree. The Navy was about to execute the slaughter order, and island residents were fleeing toward the port. The building was now empty. James pulled open the curtains a crack and started watching the Navy and CP9's current chief, Spandine, approaching!
