The Moonblood Lane cp.2

That's the reason no one dared to go to the Vampires' Alley. They played with people's minds, twisting their thoughts until they went mad or turned completely psycho. But nothing like that happened to Lainy this time…

Lainy ran away as RK stopped everyone from hurting her.

That whistle! He had never heard such a sound before. He remembered his grandmother telling him long ago:

"When you meet the one who is truly meant for you, strange things will happen—things no one could ever imagine."

And now, here she was.

RK soon realized that if he dared to harm Lainy, he would face a punishment far worse than anything he'd ever known—because she was the one destined for him.

He stopped the mob, not because of mercy, but because he never wanted to hear that strange, haunting sound again.

Lainy hurried back home, drenched in the rain. She took a quick shower, but her mind was far from calm. Questions echoed in her head—Who were they? Why did they act like that?

She asked her parents about the "Black Vampires," but their reaction startled her.

"Never say that name again!" they snapped. Their faces turned pale.

Confused and unsettled, Lainy went to bed with more questions than answers.

The next morning at school, she leaned toward her closest friend and whispered,

"Who are the Black Vampires?"

Her friend's eyes widened.

"I'll tell you," she said, "but you must promise never to say that name again."

"I promise," Lainy replied, desperate for answers.

Her friend began, voice low and cautious:

"Millions of years ago, a couple of vampires came to this alley. They hid their true identities because if people found out what they were, they would be hunted and killed. That couple was the grandparents of RK—the King Vampire. But when the people discovered the truth, they killed the Vampire Queen—RK's grandmother. RK's grandfather went mad with rage and swore to destroy the entire alley."

Her friend's tone darkened.

"He uncovered a secret vampire technique—one that allowed him to play with people's minds until they lost their sanity. Soon, the entire alley turned on itself, killing each other in a frenzy. He saved his grandchildren, but in his absence, the people hunted down and killed the rest of his family. RK's sisters and brothers… all gone. He was just a child, powerless to stop it."

Lainy's chest tightened at the thought. RK had suffered so much, yet he carried himself with calm control.

Her friend added, "RK learned every vampire trick from his grandfather. Now, he rules this alley."

When her friend suddenly asked why she was curious about the Black Vampires, Lainy hesitated. She didn't want anyone to know what had happened the night before.

"I just… saw people get scared when I mentioned the name," she said casually. "I wanted to know why."

But deep inside, she knew curiosity was pulling her back to him.

That night, ignoring her parents' warnings and her own better judgment, Lainy made her way to the alley once more.

When she stepped inside, whispers filled the air. People stared in shock—Why would she come back? Wasn't she afraid?

From the shadows, RK appeared, his eyes glinting like molten gold.

"So…" his voice was deep and cold, "you ignored my warning."
