Chapter 5 - Secrets by the graveyard

Three days later, Luna visited Alex's office to return his clothes and the doctor's bill. When she arrived, she found he wasn't there. He had told her before that he was usually in his office, but today, he was nowhere to be found. She then went to his house, but there was no one there either. The cook, Ms. Lien, told her that Alex had gone to the church near the old graveyard. Luna decided to go there. She called Alex twice, but there was no answer. When she arrived, she still couldn't find him. Feeling annoyed, she decided to pray in the church since she had already come all this way. After praying, a priest approached her. "Oh, my child, God bless you. Such a beautiful soul," he said warmly. Luna greeted him in return. Just as she was about to leave, she thought of asking him about Alex. "Father, have you seen a tall, muscular man named Alex?" she asked. "Oh, poor Alex," the priest replied. "Yes, my child, I have. What do you want to know about him?" "Actually, I wanted to return something to him, but he's not answering my calls," Luna explained. "Oh, my dear child, he just left from here," the priest said kindly. Before they could continue, Luna's phone rang. It was Alex. "Where are you? I've been calling you for so long," she asked as she answered. "Oh, actually, I went to the church, but then I left for lunch," Alex replied. "Why don't you join me at a beautiful restaurant? We can eat together, and you can give my clothes back." Luna agreed, thanked the priest, and left for the restaurant. When she arrived, Alex was already seated. They talked for a while before Luna asked, "Why did you go to the graveyard? Did someone from your family pass away?" Alex's expression turned somber. He remembered the trauma of his mother's death. Slowly, he told Luna everything about losing her and the pain it caused him. Luna felt sad for him, so she tried to lighten the mood by telling a joke. Then Alex hesitated before speaking again. "Luna, can I ask you something?" "Yes, what is it?" "When you fainted, I tried to call someone for help. I couldn't unlock your phone, so I checked your emergency contacts. There was only one name—Max. But he didn't answer. Is something wrong with him?" Luna's eyes instantly filled with tears. They turned red, and Alex was shocked at her sudden change of mood. She remembered everything Max had done—how he had betrayed her. Alex gently wiped her tears. "What happened, Luna? Are you okay?" Luna told him the truth. To comfort herself, she hugged him. Alex stiffened, surprised—no woman had ever hugged him before. After a moment, he hugged her back, and Luna held him tightly. Then, in the middle of this emotional moment, a waiter appeared with their order. "Ma'am, sir, are you okay?" he asked awkwardly. They both quickly pulled away and said in unison, "Sorry, sorry. I just got a bit emotional." If this had been in a movie, it would have been a funny scene.
