Blue Tyrant Academy
Walking through the streets of Heaven Dou City, a man with a very distinctive face was accompanied by several young men. He had a somewhat prominent chin, very wide cheekbones, and a slightly aquiline nose. He gave off a somewhat devious feeling. On his face was a pair of black-framed glass glasses, frames with a sort of rigid squares. He had an average figure, but was a little chubby.
Beside him, there was a man who had broad shoulders and wore a sleeveless jacket. His height was not too great, but he was full of powerful muscles. Although his expression was usually bitter, he was known to make kinder faces when he was around people close to him.
These two men were Zhao Wuji and Flender. They were both part of Shrek Academy. And on a tempting offer from a former student of theirs, they had come to the empire's academy to fully integrate into it. But they didn't expect that two princes would treat them like dogs, to the point of letting a title douluo bully them.
"What's so good about that prince, hmph!" a girl behind the two men snorted as she stomped her foot on the ground. She had a slender, tender, and pretty figure. Her hair cascaded down her back and she had a noble bearing. Her name was Ning RongRong, Ning Fengzhi's daughter who had run away not long ago to see the world.
Near her were also those who would be known as Shrek's seven monsters in the future: Tang San, Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, Oscar (Ao Si Ka as his Chinese name in the novel), Zhu Zhuqing, Ma Hongjun (aka Fatty), and of course, Ning Rong Rong was part of them.
"What do we do now?" The self-proclaimed Grandmaster, Yu Xiaogang, frowned slightly behind Flender: "Shrek Academy can't open because of the nobles. And even if we do so while ignoring all these things, they will try to suppress us out of sheer spite."
Zhu Zhuqing blinked when she saw a poster pasted on one of the city walls and walked over.
"How about Blue Tyrant Academy?" she asked in her typical cold voice. Everyone looked at her in bewilderment and she extended her hand, showing the poster that the said academy had pasted all over the city. Today, after all, was recruitment day.
Flender's eyes sparkled for a moment, recalling an old friend he hadn't seen in a long time. His expression was immediately hidden as he glanced sideways at Yu Xiaogang, his friend. In the past, both of them had fallen in love with Liu Erlong, in fact, he still had feelings for them. But except for his friend, he accompanied his crush for a few years while she calmed down, so he knew that she was in the Blue Tyrant Academy.
"Alright, we'll go to the Blue Tyrant Academy!"
"Flender, are you sure?" Yu Xiaogang asked doubtfully.
"Don't worry, Xiaogang, I have an acquaintance in the academy!" Flender smiled confidently and started walking as everyone followed him. They walked past the city, observing some things. But, Ning Rong Rong stopped and exclaimed.
"What happened?" Dai Mubai asked curiously.
"It's the spiritual tool shop!" Ning Rong Rong walked up to the display cases with a big smile: "I've only been able to come here once before my twelfth birthday, but it's amazing."
"Spiritual tools to help you fly, increase your power, defense, speed. Even near-miracle pills are sold in this place! In fact, it's the only place on the continent that sells spiritual tools!"
"Spiritual tools? Rong Rong, could you tell me about them?" Tang San asked as he curiously looked at the spiritual tools in the display cases, all of which looked like bracelets capable of shooting.
Except for Yu Xiaogang, Flender and Zhao Wuji, the rest were a bit confused. While Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun and Oscar had been staying in Shrek for a couple of years, they were all not rich enough to buy a spiritual tool. Furthermore, they lived far away from the capital.
It wasn't strange that they still hadn't heard of spiritual tools.
Ning Rong Rong nodded and lifted one of the sleeves of her dress and revealed a bracelet that looked ordinary. It was silver in color with intricate lines that split and formed small petals that floated around it.
"Spiritual tools were created by the expert and shop owner next to us. The metals that make up the tools are finely refined by the same owner and the core is similar. There are many types of spiritual tools. For example, mine: Three Petals of Lightning, has the ability to launch thin beams of powerful light ions. The requirement to use it is to have two spiritual rings and is capable of damaging experts of up to four rings."
"Ever since spiritual tools appeared, auxiliary-type or healing-type spiritual masters have even been able to fight against assault-type spiritual masters. And my spiritual tool is one of the most basic."
"I heard that when spiritual tools were revealed at an auction a few years ago, the creator even auctioned off a suit of armor capable of flight. As long as the user maintained the armor, it could increase their power and defense by 10% as well as their speed by 30%."
"And this armor, just like the rest, was possible for auxiliary-type and healing-type spiritual masters to use!"
Tang San had his eyes wide open, staring in disbelief at the small but dangerous petals floating around Ning Rong Rong. He, as a reincarnated man, had the Tang Sect skills from his past life, so he had a superior advantage in some cases when fighting. But this was something else, he didn't think there was something that could even render his hidden weapons obsolete.
"The creator should be a super powerful expert…" Tang San commented.
"I don't know now, but a few months ago he fought against Sword Uncle, a level 96 titled douluo."
"What?!" the three adults exclaimed in surprise. They knew who Sword Uncle was.
"Rong Rong, are you saying Jian Douluo fought against this mysterious spiritual tool creator!?" Flender asked in disbelief. The rest looked at Rong Rong in surprise as well, but curiosity and desire could be seen from having seen such a battle.
"Yes…" Rong Rong nodded: "According to what Sword Uncle said, this person's name is Perseus. At that time he was a level 76 Spirit Saint, but he was able to tie with a level 96 Title Douluo."
"Uncle said that as long as Perseus was within a certain range, he would be almost invincible within it. Another way of saying it is that as long as Perseus was a Spirit Saint, no one within those levels could win against him. Likewise, if he was able to reach Title Douluo…"
"Then he would be an invincible Title Douluo," Tang San finished and inhaled sharply.
"Rong Rong, his martial spirit!" Yu Xiaogang hurried over. "What was his martial spirit? His spirit rings?"
As a master of theory, he wanted to know. No, he needed to know. No one could be said to be invincible, especially with the differences between martial spirits and spirit ring ages. For example, a Soul Saint with his spirit rings at optimal ages, would always beat one with the ages of his rings lower than the first one.
And this was no longer something about talent or martial spirits, but rather about skills. A hundred year spirit ring will always give better ability than a ten year old one, and the same goes for a thousand, ten thousand or a hundred thousand year old one.
But if Jian Douluo said something like that…
"Mmm…" Rong Rong muttered as she recalled.
"According to what Sword Uncle said, his martial spirit is called: God Slaying Sabre. It is a sabre with an extremely powerful edge and capable of releasing a disturbing and suffocating murderous aura. As for his spirit rings, the first one was a thousand year old and all the others were black."
"Impossible!" Yu Xiaogang, Zhao Wuji and Flander exclaimed in disbelief. Tang San and the rest were not too different. That kind of age was simply impossible to believe.
"Rong Rong… are you sure? Perhaps you heard wrong?" Tang San asked.
"Eh!" Rong Rong snorted a little annoyed. "I know what I heard, that's what Sword Uncle said."
"In fact, Sword Uncle had to be in recovery for a month or so for the injury he sustained. According to him, this expert's seventh spiritual ability is capable of releasing a domain that will make every wound inflicted on him unable to ever heal unless the owner wants it to. Expert Perseus offered him three pills to heal Sword Uncle's injuries, but he still had to stay put for a while."
"Hiss…" everyone inhaled sharply.
"What kind of expert is this?" Ma Hongjun asked into the air, his expression a little fearful.
"That's why you have to be careful if you're going to enter the shop. Not even the spiritual hall or the Heaven Dou Emperor himself are allowed to stir up trouble. As long as you have the money to pay for the spiritual tools, you're welcome. Stir up trouble and well, you'll only regret it in the future," Ning Rong Rong said seriously.
Everyone nodded in understanding and then continued on their way, but they all looked a little more at the shop windows. They were extremely curious to see the capabilities of the spiritual tools and had a great desire to own one of them.
The group walked until they reached the gates of the blue tyrant academy almost on the outskirts of the city. The academy was actually on a mountain surrounded by forests. And in the most remote and hidden part, was Liu Erlong's residence.
The group had to go through and wait until they were allowed to pass. At one point they had not been allowed to pass. After all, Liu Erlong had been visited many times by unscrupulous people, especially men. However, since two of the adults—Flender and Zhao Wuji—were spiritual saints, as a rule, they had to let them pass to talk to Liu Erlong about the reasons for their visit.
When they walked along a path full of trees, grass, and flowers, they came across a cabin that was not too big, but seemed to look very cozy. There were a bunch of flowers of different colors around.
And on one side of the house, there was a man lying on a lazy chair. His long hair fell over his shoulders and a little to the sides, hanging off his body. He wore a black robe with blue bamboo prints. The robe was open in the middle, revealing his slightly tanned skin and muscles. Some cut scars could also be seen all over his abdomen and chest.
He seemed to be reading as he had a book in his hands.
A little further away, a beautiful woman was watering the flowers while humming with a beautiful smile.
"Who are you?" the man asked. Everyone looked at him in amazement at his appearance and his two-colored eyes. But also at the slightly oppressive feeling he gave them.
Tang San activated his purple demon eyes; the worldview slowed down at that moment and he could feel the man's power much better. However, at that moment he saw his entire world turn grey and black, as if it was withering away.
Alarmed, he deactivated his eyes and put a hand over his right eye as blood came out of one of his nostrils.
"Brat, be careful! You're spying on something you shouldn't!" Percy exclaimed coldly.
"Hey... you can't bully children," Liu Erlong's voice rang out and he sighed a little. Percy pursed his lips before snorting.
"The kid has no courtesy. He was using his eyes and spiritual power to try to size me up. That's just spying."
Liu Erlong just smiled before looking at the visitors, especially Flender.
"Hey... Brother Flender, it's been a while."
"Erlong! Yes, you're right, it really has been a while!" Flender greeted amicably. And while he felt sad that this beautiful woman could never love him, it didn't mean that she would just walk away.
Some people say that life is an eternal letting go, and that only with empty hands could you grab something new. Likewise, a form of love is also letting go.
Flender might not have received the love of the woman he fell in love with, but for him there was no point in trying to be with Liu Erlong if she could never love him back.
Liu Erlong nodded with a smile, but he gradually became lost. His face changed from one moment to the next, showing a cold mask. His eyes lost their shine and darkened little by little as he saw Yu Xiaogang slightly hidden behind everyone.
"Why did you bring that trash into my home, Brother Flender?" Liu Erlong threw out that question and the atmosphere immediately coagulated.
