Chapter 77 - CHAPTER 77 (S3)

"They're taking a while out there," Ty spoke out to Lorrell almost in a bit of a concerned tone. That was just before Perry turned the corner, spotting the couple waiting for them.

"Well we're here now." Perry said, walking over to them.

"Wow, perfect timing." Ty replied, pushing himself off the wall. "Did you find the bat?"

"Yeah." Perry threw it over to Ty who managed to catch it. "But no other signs of life." She said, rather solemnly.

"Not to mention there was no electricity there. I'm guessing it was cut off there." she added once more.

Lorrell also stood up from her spot, stretching her arms. "Should we keep looking for them?" she asked. It was mostly up to Perry if they kept searching or not.

Perry looked at her if that was even a question in the first place. "Yes? Like hell I'm giving up." she answered.

They decided to discuss what their options were, and.. One stood out the most. Search the oddly shaped building— why? Perry decided it'd be faster than trying to roam around mindlessly. But, then again, if the twins weren't there, she wasn't sure where else she'd look.

Eli sighed. "That's bloody rubbish. We should try, at the least, to find them. Who knows? Maybe they're hiding there."

"He's right. We have to try." Rexine agreed.

Ultimately, Lorrell sighed. She was merely just concerned for their safety, but.. She couldn't say no.

"Alright, it's settled, then." Ty said, before Lorrell could. "Then, split up into two groups." He added.

Although the group tried really hard to form two groups, it wasn't working out that well. So, in the end, Lorrell had to choose.

"You, there. Go to group two. And you, group one. No. Maverick, you stay there in group two." Eventually; group one consisted of Perry, Eli, Waylen and Rexine. Group two was the rest. Axelle, Maverick, Christian and Ruby.

"Don't go above the 15th floor and above, alright? The building was still in construction, so it could be dangerous." Ty said, before he slid down and sat on the floor.

"...Goodluck. Try not to die out there. That building itself is pretty dangerous, so keep an eye out." Lorrell both wished and warned.

With that, they left the store once again. Lorrell and Ty insisted they stayed in, just in case Dave and Darren came back.

"So we'll explore the lower half of the building, and you guys will the upper half." Perry stated, as they all entered the building, and stepped in the elevator. At the second floor they stopped first, and group one stepped out. Then after a wave or two (mainly from Ruby), group two ascended. To the 8th floor. The elevator ride up was awkward, but fortunately fast.

"We can each search two rooms, alright?" Perry said, as she and the rest of group one split to explore the rooms.

When Perry entered one of the rooms all she saw around was blood. Of course, by now, she had been used to it. But.. there was a damn lot. She looked around, and when she saw nothing of use or no clues, she just stepped back outside. There was no use in searching inside a room like that. In her opinion.

Eli had entered a room, one with particularly funky machinery and tools. He took a quick look around, already pretty spooked. He felt if he made one wrong move, it was all over for him.

"Bloody hell." He mumbled under his breath, trying to look around for the light switch. Finding it, he turned the lights on. Then all the machinery looked even scarier. There was one with literally a saw glued to it.

Meanwhile, with Waylen… he was inside a room with a fairly large amount of formulas and equations written on a white board. He stared at it— but the only thing he recognized from there was the variable; 𝑥.

He just gave up. With a sigh, he turned around and looked for anything else that could possibly be less stressful than the board in front of him— oh, and of course any clues.

"Seriously, just looking at it hurts." He muttered.

The room Rexine was in? Rather peaceful. A few hospital beds and some blood, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

"There, the folded one. No, Maverick the other one. Maverick. THERE'S ONLY TWO. Yes." Axelle was losing it. Not in a good way. Can you lose it in a good way? Whatever that's not the point.

She was losing it, losing it. Maverick and his dumbass had to be paired with group two, unfortunately.

Once Maverick walked back with the paper, he opened it, laying it out on the table in the middle of the room.

Axelle stood beside Christian who was just as confused at first. Ruby poked her head over Axelle's shoulder, looking at it too. Maverick stood parallel from them, seeing the whole map upside down.

"What symbol is that?" Ruby asked, pointing to the very far bottom left of the map, which indeed had a symbol they've never seen before.

A dot, a long line, and then a horizontal crescent, another dot and then a line and a dot at the end. It wasn't too big, and it was vertical. Weird.

But what was weirder? There was a room circled in thick red marker. What they noted was it was the one inside the subway station they went to before.

Back with group one, they had rendezvoused, Perry was drawing something funky on her arm, Waylen was examining the reception desk and the thing around. Eli was playing with a tool he found, and Rexine was… Scribbling something over the walls with a purple marker.

"That was the last floor," Eli mumbled uninterested.

"...Do you think we should go find the rest?" Waylen replied.

"Well.. Maybe they're done by now too." Rexine added. Perry just sighed.

"... Let's go. Whether they're done or not, we need to rendezvous."
