The door closes behind her and then I look up to stare at the door. She looked desperate to get her pearl back.
Too bad she can't get it back no matter what. Because first she needs to do my bidding. And then, maybe I will give it back to her.
A smile blooms on my face at the thought of the woman who had suddenly jumped into my life yesterday. Soft pink hair like cotton candy and sharp pink eyes. She also looked starved. As if she hadn't eaten for ages.
Not to mention, she has bad blood with the Delphinas. Good for me. Those bastards have been annoying me. Maybe I can use this woman to deal with them as well.
She said it was her pearl. That means she is a mermaid. Are all the Delphinas mermaids...? If so, why do they need this woman's pearl for their-
Knock-knock-knock.
"Brother Sylas!" An excited voice flows in. Dani.
"Come on in." I say and then smile as she rushes into the room with a huge smile. Her blonde hair flutters behind her as she runs to me and her brown eyes crinkle with laughter.
"I got you some homemade cookies." She smiles. "I made them! So, give it a try!" She excitedly puts the box on the table and takes of the lid for me.
"Want to have some with me?" I ask and she nods.
"Yes. But you must eat what I made first! I came as soon as I made them!"
I take a bite of the cookies she made and then smile. "It's delicious."
"Really?!" Her eyes light up and she jumps, hugging me. "I am so glad you like it!" She giggles and I push her back to feed her a cookie.
She takes a bite and smiles. "Indeed. My cookies at the best." She smiles and I chuckle. Then, she sits on my table after shifting the things around and then eats cookies with me.
"Brother Sylas..." She says and looks to the door.
"What is it?" I raise an eyebrow. "Is something troubling you?"
"No... it's just...." She drops her eyes and then looks up enthusiastically. "I am curious." She lets out a smile which she only does when she is curious. "Who is that girl? Your girlfriend? Have you finally lost your virginity -"
I pull her cheeks as she shrieks. "Why are you always so interested in such talks?"
"Ahh. Let go!" She whines and I do. She rubs her cheeks and pouts. "Of course, I am! You have always been a single guy who I thought was ga-"
"Hm?" I raise both my eyebrows.
"Who I thought was game over. Yes. Game over."
"I thought you were about to say gay."
"Of course not! But if that's what you thought....then are you really...?" She drawls and I pinch her cheeks.
She squeaks and jumps off the table and dashes to the door. "You meanie! I will go tell mom and dad about what you did just now. They will scold you for sure!"
"Yeah yeah." I wave her off and she leaves in a huff. Her footsteps fade along with my amusement with my sister. She really is becoming a great actor. I am sure she will rise to the top of the showbiz soon.
I pick up my phone and call Zein. He picks up. "You are already done? That was fast! I thought you would take at least thirty minutes but it's only been twenty when I saw her went in..."
"Don't take nonsense." I say with my voice fueled by anger. "We didn't do any such thing."
"Yeah sure. You will soon anyway." He drawls.
This guy...and the others...I rub my temple and get straight to the point. "Find where she lives."
"Where who lives?" He says, pretending not to know.
"We both know who we are talking about -"
"Say her name and I will do it."
This guy is becoming to cheeky. Fine. Her name..what was her name again....? I stay silent and so does Zein.
"Don't tell me you don't know." He says finally.
"Of course not. I do."
"Then tell me."
"Are you going to do what I am telling you to or not-"
"I already got a few people tailing her. But I won't tell you where she lives until you tell me her name." With that he hangs up.
A headache spread across my head and makes me groan. Her name. What could it be? And why does it matter right now?
