Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: She Wasn’t Invited, But She Spoke Anyway

The 14th floor conference room was a sacred battlefield.

Top executives. Tie-clad board members. Lu Zeyan, unreadable as always, at the head of the table.

Everything was perfect.

Until the door slammed open.

Everyone turned.

Xu Yinyin stood there with a Starbucks drink, sunglasses, and a mini notebook. "Oh good, I'm not late."

"…You're not invited," Zeyan said slowly.

She blinked behind her sunglasses. "But I saw 'Strategy Meeting' on the calendar. I thought it meant 'Everyone strategize together.' Like a school group project!"

Dead silence.

A board member coughed. Another whispered, "Who… is that?"

Yinyin confidently walked in and sat down at the far end of the table like she belonged there. "I'll be quiet. Just observing. Carry on."

Zeyan's jaw flexed.

They did carry on—awkwardly—until someone from Marketing presented a campaign.

The moment they finished, Yinyin raised her hand.

"No," Zeyan said immediately.

"I just want to ask one question!" she said brightly.

She stood up, strutted to the projector screen, and pointed at a graph. "This part here? Makes zero sense. If you launch in Q3 when competition is already flooding the app stores, you're basically walking naked into a typhoon."

People started murmuring.

"Also," she added, flipping the page, "this slogan? It sounds like something an AI wrote after drinking dish soap."

Zeyan's brow twitched.

The Head of Marketing turned pale.

"Try this instead," she said, grabbing a marker. She scribbled something absurdly bold.

"We don't follow trends. We delete them."

Half the room gasped.

The youngest board member mumbled, "…That's actually fire."

The older members exchanged surprised glances.

And Lu Zeyan?

He leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled, eyes fixed on this ridiculous woman giving an unauthorized TED Talk in his meeting.

Thirty minutes later, the meeting ended. Executives walked out whispering, some even smiling. No one had smiled in this room since 2016.

Zeyan stayed behind.

Xu Yinyin was packing her things like it was totally normal to hijack board-level strategy meetings.

He spoke at last. "What are you?"

She looked up. "Xu Yinyin, 24, sun in Gemini, moon in chaos. Want my birth chart?"

"I'm serious."

"So am I."

She tossed her notebook into her bag.

"I'm someone who sees the world sideways," she said. "People like me shouldn't be in rooms like this. But now I am. So I'm going to leave dents."

A pause.

She looked at him, eyes dancing. "Also… you looked bored. I fixed that."

Then she was gone.

Leaving Lu Zeyan alone in a silent room, surrounded by stunned silence and a single sentence echoing in his head.

"Sun in Gemini. Moon in chaos."

He didn't know whether to laugh, fire her… or ask her what her rising sign was.
