Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: A Scoundrel's Way of Doing Things

Eating his breakfast, Lin Mu's face was full of a satisfied smile. He had to admit, Shiina Mahiru's cooking was truly delicious. Although it was just ordinary home cooking, the food that came from her hands was somehow more fragrant than takeout.

After finishing breakfast, Lin Mu washed the bento box, planning to return it to her along with the lunch bento box when he came home in the afternoon.

With the breakfast problem solved, Lin Mu left his apartment. After waiting for a moment, Shiina Mahiru also came out from next door, carrying a bag of trash. Lin Mu proactively went forward and took the trash bag from her hands.

"Thank you..." the girl said, her cheeks still slightly flushed.

Although she could have taken it out herself, the feeling of being helped still brought her a sense of warmth. At this moment, Shiina Mahiru didn't know how to face this man who had possessed her once again. But she couldn't bring herself to ignore him. After all, they had been so intimate. To her, Lin Mu was definitely a special person.

After thinking it over and over, all she could do was try to convince herself to just treat him as a normal classmate. As for him wanting to touch her again, she would definitely refuse him!

In response to Shiina Mahiru's thanks, Lin Mu just smiled and nodded without saying much. Some things didn't need to be said. And given his current relationship with his angel classmate, actions were more useful than any words. Expressing his concern for her through his actions—this was likely the way to unlock her heart and upgrade his Super-Recovery ability.

How does that saying go? A relationship is built on long-term companionship.

Even though Shiina Mahiru had been possessed by him in such a scoundrelly way, she was still willing to make him bentos and feed him. Didn't that mean that she wasn't actually that resistant to him? This showed that she was willing to try to get along with him. This was a good thing.

After throwing out the trash together, Lin Mu and Shiina Mahiru walked to the platform to wait for the tram, as it was on the way for both of them.

They didn't run into Aoyama Nanami this morning. Lin Mu guessed the girl had probably woken up early to go to a part-time job. There was a milk delivery job nearby that required waking up early and riding a bicycle all over. Seeing a girl working so hard for her dreams, Lin Mu suddenly felt very idle.

After getting off the tram, Lin Mu deliberately kept his distance from Shiina Mahiru, letting her walk ahead while he followed, neither too close nor too far behind.

Seeing this, Shiina Mahiru's small mouth pouted slightly, looking as if she wanted to say something but held back.

This guy is surprisingly considerate at times like these. So what should I do? Should I date him?

Shiina Mahiru wasn't stupid. She naturally understood that Lin Mu was keeping his distance because he was afraid of people misunderstanding their relationship and causing her trouble. But last night, this same guy had said he would get jealous seeing her talk and laugh with other people.

Does he really like me?

Thinking of this question, Shiina Mahiru suddenly blushed. It has to be that he likes me, right? If he didn't like me, would he hold me and kiss me like that?

Although she knew he was a lecher, a super big scoundrel, the fact that she had started to respond proactively to his teasing last night still made her heart fill with shame. But along with the shame, there was also a strange feeling. It wasn't sadness, but a sweet, warm feeling.

Perhaps she had actually been longing to be cared for all along, to be held forcefully in someone's arms and cherished. The love and care her parents couldn't give her, she had somehow experienced from that scoundrel. Especially when he held her in his arms, gently stroking her hair, her nose would tingle, and she'd feel like crying.

They had only known each other for a few days, but he had already seen her lose face and cry so many times.

...

"Good morning, Shiina-san."

"Good morning, Yuigahama-san."

"Morning! Shiina-san is an angel today as always."

"Not at all. What angel? It's so embarrassing."

Upon entering the classroom, Shiina Mahiru naturally handled her enthusiastic classmates, but she couldn't help but peek at the expression of a certain man who entered after her out of the corner of her eye.

Lin Mu yawned and strolled leisurely into the classroom.

"Mornin', Lin Mu-san." Tobe Sho greeted him proactively, looking rather enthusiastic.

Lin Mu raised an eyebrow, a little surprised. After their joke yesterday, Tobe Sho hadn't spoken to him again, instead just talking and laughing with his good friend Hayama. Lin Mu didn't think much of it and gave a casual nod.

"Good morning, Tobe-kun. And Hayama-kun, good morning."

"Good morning, Lin Mu-san." Hayama Hayato was as bright and sunny as ever, treating everyone with gentleness. I wonder if his cheeks feel stiff after he gets home every day?

"Hey, hey, Lin Mu-san, you're really hiding your skills! My math homework is in your hands from now on!" Tobe Sho said with a wink, making a request. Only then did Lin Mu understand that this guy had his sights set on his math homework.

"Hiding my skills, you say? What do you mean?" Lin Mu raised an eyebrow, looking at him with great interest.

Tobe Sho, however, had a resentful look on his face. "The results for the math quiz are out! You're number one, number one!"

"I can't believe it! You were in the hospital for over a month, and you surpassed Shiina-san on your first test back. That's just ridiculous!"
