Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 – Half-Height

That morning, Goblin's Grove was once again filled with the sound of goblin footsteps rushing toward the work site.Lee Jun stood atop the first layer of the wall, gazing at the quiet expanse of forest.Godon approached with a serious look.

"No cracks, Master. The foundation is solid. We can proceed with the second layer today," he reported.

Jun nodded. "Good. Continue."

Raising the Wall

The construction team immediately began stacking stones on top of the first layer. The clinking of hammers and the grinding of rocks echoed through the air.Goblins who had been clumsy yesterday now moved with skill, arranging stones neatly into place.

Moji walked along the wall, placing his palm against the clay mixture.A faint blue light glowed from his hands."This will harden in half a day," he said, moving on to the next section.

Temporary Watchtowers

Following Jun's orders, two temporary watchtowers were erected on the north and south sides. These wooden towers weren't tall, but they provided much better visibility.

Draksra climbed one of the towers, squinting into the forest."No blind spots from here. If anything approaches, we'll see it," he remarked.

Hunting and Logistics

The hunting team was split in two—Godon headed west, Draksra east. The day's haul was decent: one wild boar, two small deer, and several rabbits.

Some of the meat was brought directly to the kitchen, while the rest was smoked for preservation. The aroma of smoked meat drifted through the air, lifting the workers' spirits.

Intensive Troop Training

Godon intensified the warrior training with close-quarters combat drills.Goblins sparred with wooden spears, ran laps around the Grove, and practiced holding tight defensive formations.

Moji worked with the five shaman candidates.Small energy spheres were launched toward straw dummies—some missed, others hit their mark perfectly.Jun watched from a distance, stepping in with brief corrections whenever he spotted mistakes.

Half-Height Wall Complete

By nightfall, the wall had reached half of its planned height. From above, Goblin's Grove was starting to resemble a true fortress.

Jun stood on the northern watchtower, gazing at the stars that had begun to appear.

"It won't be long… this place will be truly safe."

The night breeze carried with it the scent of drying clay—and the promise of a stronger future.
