He had not even blinked before she appeared directly in front of him, teeth grinding as her jaw tightened, her fist swinging with immense force.
The punch smashed right into the newly turned demon's face before his brain could even process what happened.
The whole world froze.
The civilians a few metres away stopped breathing. Ava's gang members stared with their mouths wide open. Max paused mid step.
Even Jim, who had barely managed to sit upright, stiffened. For a brief heartbeat, it was as if the entire street held its breath.
Then lightning crackled sharply in the air.
