Chapter 15 - Lyra: Not a dream

" You were having a vision."

I stare up at him, trying to focus on what he just said. "I was having a dream".

I tell him, but he shakes his head. "No. You were having a vision. It's different than a dream or nightmare".

"How?"

He crouches in front of me, his eyes staring into mine. "Dreams and nightmares are things that invade our minds when we are asleep; deep or just a nap doesn't matter. But visions are different; your subconscious doesn't wait for you to fall asleep to see things. If something has to be seen, it just appears, asleep or not".

"So, what I just saw right now was a vision?" He nods his head at my question.

"Do you get those often, or is this the first time?" His eyes dart between mine to find answers in them.

"Often. They are not everyday occurrences, but they are not that rare either," I tell him the truth.

"What do you see in them?" He asks seriously this time. What a weird question!

"What do you mean? It's like a dream. Sometimes good, sometimes bad." I shrug my shoulders.

"Usually people see fragments of the future or past in their vision; is it the same for you?" His tone is patient, gentle even.

He doesn't talk to me that way, like, ever. Usually he's either amused or annoyed. This is new.

"I don't remember anything like th—" The wolf vision. I had those before I went to Ravenswood.

"Do you remember anything?" Cyrus looks at me expectantly. He probably saw the look of realisation on my face.

"You know the first time we met?" I question him, and his face softens visibly as he nods.

"Did you have a vision of me?" He sounds hopeful. Why does he sound like that?

"Luckily I didn't—"

He frowns and immediately cuts me off. "What's that supposed to mean!?" He is offended. If I didn't know any better, I'd assume he likes me or something.

"That's not the point; the point is that I had a vision that night before I entered Ravenswood. I was on the way, and I saw the wolf attack happening before it even happened." His brows furrow, probably at my explanation.

I was never good at explaining and shit. Though I talk a lot, I fail to make sense most of the time.

"That night I saw the entire attack and the fight happening hours before it actually did. I saw it all in slow motion; I saw the Ravenswood Wolf—"

"Midnights pack". He interrupts me, and honestly, it's a bit annoying. At this rate, we are not going to get to the point.

"I saw the wolf of midnight's pack sensing the attack and then them getting in position and fighting back. I also saw Tracy lunging at me, and that's when I woke up. At that time, I thought maybe it was just a nightmare since I hadn't seen anything like that before, but I think I realise it now. It was a vision. I knew what was going to happen before it even happened. Isn't that so cool?" I slap his shoulder once out of excitement; he doesn't even flinch.

I mean, I'm allowed to, duh. Why didn't I think of it before? I can actually see the future.

"Did you tell anybody about your vision?" Cyrus asks, and I nod my head.

"I did. I told Oliver." He purses his lips disapprovingly.

"You can't blame me! He was my boyfriend at that time, and I trusted him." I try to defend myself, but his jaw clenches and he narrows his eyes at me.

"And that is exactly why he tried to fake an intruder attack on you." He gets up, and I follow him inside.

He looks around before his gaze lands on my phone. "Have you blocked him yet?"

"Though it's none of your business, yes, I have." I fold my hands and turn my head sideways.

"It is my business if he tries to check your location or track you down. Besides, even blocking him isn't enough. He might try other ways to find you." His gaze darkens, but I am too focused on the mystery of it all that I can't help the anger rising in me.

"That's not important to me. You know what it is, though?" I stand in front of him and stare straight into his eyes.

"You, telling me what's going on. You saved me from an attack and somehow miraculously found out that Oliver was behind it. You brought me here and then ignored me for 3 whole days. You told your pack members I was your mate, when both of us know that's not true. Then you pay me a visit after 3 whole days and tell me that I get vision, which I don't even know the reason for!!!" I'm breathing heavily by the time I finish speaking—more like screaming.

He has the audacity to look surprised as if he didn't realise any of that. So much for being a responsible Alpha.

"I had no idea you felt that way." He clears his throat awkwardly and winces once he realises he is making it worse.

"I agree I have kept you in the dark the last few days, but I have reasons for it." He stares at me, and I just raise my brows, urging him to continue.

"And I can't tell you everything, not yet. Just know that it's safer for you here than any place else. But I can tell you one thing." He grits his teeth.

"Oliver Jones wants to take advantage of your special abilities. He might have brought you to Ravenswood to test them. But for some reason, he let you leave that day. At first I thought he had miscalculated something; that's why he didn't care when you left, but then he came back. Which is why I had to bring you here, away from him." Cyrus studies my face, waiting for me to react.

What do I even say? My ex-boyfriend is some kind of freak, and now I have to leave my beautiful life behind and live with wolves for my safety. And on top of that, apparently I can see the future.

I sigh depressingly before turning to him. "How long will I have to stay here?"

He gives a half smile. "Until your grandpa returns ".

I nod my head before exclaiming. "Grandpa!!?. How do you know where he is? What did you do?"

He gives me an innocent look.

"I just sent him to a meditation camp".
