Chapter 131 - 131

Miles finally understood the origin of the injuries on Aaron's body, and why Prowler, as an enemy, had put a mask on him, concealing his identity.

"Uncle Aaron, why?"

Miles clenched the mask tightly, his face filled with disappointment and confusion.

"Miles, I lied to you. I once yearned for your admiration. I'm very ashamed."

Aaron's voice was a little hoarse, and his eyes were full of regret.

"After I lost my job, I used my knowledge to build equipment and steal. I originally intended to stop after one job, but Kingpin discovered my true identity. Since then, I've been stuck in a quagmire, unable to escape.

When I saw you become Spider-Man, you can't imagine the joy in my heart. You are indeed the most outstanding in our family."

At this point, a proud gleam flickered in Aaron's eyes, as if he saw the hope of the family's revival in Miles.

Miles listened silently, a mix of emotions in his heart. Facing this familiar yet strange uncle, he didn't know what to do.

A moment later, he still recounted his previous experiences.

"My abilities can't be used at all. They don't recognize me; they just see me as a show-off kid."

Miles lowered his head, his voice full of loss and frustration.

Aaron immediately understood the Spider-Men's good intentions; after all, the path of a hero is never smooth.

"So what are you thinking, Miles?"

"I don't know. Since they look down on me, why should I shamelessly go help? Besides, if I go, I'll just be a burden, and then I'll have to rely on them for rescue, which would be even more embarrassing."

Miles frowned, full of confusion and helplessness.

"Miles, you saw my fight with that White Spider-Man earlier, didn't you?"

"I saw it. She's called Ghost-Spider. She kicked you in here."

Miles replied testily, his words laced with a bit of resentment.

"Cough, cough, cough... I'm not talking about that. What do you think of the strength I showed in the fight earlier?"

Aaron's words caught in his throat, causing a violent fit of coughing.

He thought to himself, it was all to save you, otherwise why would I be so seriously injured.

Miles looked at his uncle's pale face, and his heart finally softened.

"I saw it. At first, you fought Ghost-Spider to a standstill. You were very powerful."

"Actually, when I first started using that equipment, I crashed into walls countless times and suffered numerous injuries.

It wasn't until one time, standing on a tall building, overlooking the street, that my heart suddenly became as calm as Water.

Since then, my skills have become increasingly proficient, and fear has left me. Miles, I want to tell you that you must believe in your abilities; it will respond to your wishes."

"Respond to my wishes?"

Miles gazed at his hands, then slowly closed his eyes.

What exactly is my wish?

To fulfill Spider-Man's dying wish?

No, I'm not that great.

To assist the Spider-Men and defeat evil? To become a hero? That doesn't seem right either.

That's right, my wish...

"I long to live the life of an ordinary child, like before, without the burden of saving the World, and without having to face many unknown dangers."

Light shone in Miles's eyes; he had found the deepest desire in his heart.

"If that is your wish, then follow the voice of your heart."

Aaron's gaze was full of understanding.

"But Kingpin's conspiracy will destroy the life I want, so I must stop him.

Not to help the Spider-Men, nor to fulfill Spider-Man's dying wish, but to protect my peaceful life."

Blue electric light flickered in Miles's palm, lingering for a long time.

Aaron threw over a key.

"In the closet in the room, there's what you need."

"Goodbye, Uncle Aaron."

Miles took the key, opened the door, and left.

Not far away, his father was sitting on a chair.

"Miles, are you done? Then I'll take you back, tomorrow you still have to..."

Before his father could finish speaking, Miles came to him and hugged him tightly.

"I love you, Dad."

"Huh???"

His father was a bit flustered by the sudden hug, his face full of surprise and confusion.

"Me too, Miles."

But soon, he also reached out and gently embraced Miles.

"And goodbye, Dad, I have plans with a friend, I'm leaving now."

Miles finished speaking, turned, and ran off.

Jefferson watched Miles's receding back, waving his hand blankly.

A moment later, he came back to his senses and rushed into the ward.

"No... Aaron, what did you say to my son?"

"Nothing..."

On the other side, Miles sped all the way to his uncle's residence. He opened the closet and found a hidden keyhole. He inserted the key and gently turned it.

The closet slowly moved aside, revealing the space behind it.

Inside was a Prowler combat suit, and some technological equipment emitting a cold, eerie glow, as if silently waiting for its Master's return.

At night, the Spider-Men arrived in front of a dark building.

"This is where the particle collider is, and Kingpin is inside."

"There's a private elevator there, we can use it to go directly in."

"I always have a bad feeling."

"Me too, but since we're here, there's no reason to back down."

Without any hesitation, the Spider-Men quickly took action.

Like agile Ghosts, they stealthily infiltrated using the building's ventilation ducts, while Damian hid inside the Spider Mech.

Soon, they reached the underground.

At this moment, the particle collider had released a continuous stream of energy. At the center of the energy, the head of Green Goblin was placed, emitting a strange and terrifying aura, like a gaze from hell.

"Spider-Men, you've finally arrived."

Kingpin's low, oppressive voice came from above.

"Kingpin, what in the World are you doing?!"

"Hmph, I want my wife and son, but before that, I'm going to clear out you annoying bugs."

Kingpin looked at Octopus Lady, his eyes filled with madness and obsession, like a burning Fire, ready to devour everything.

"How many Universes have been connected?"

"176, and still increasing."

"Release them all!"

"Yes."

Octopus Lady was locked in a chair, with only two arms able to move. She slowly pressed the activation button.

Instantly, dazzling energy particles filled the entire room, the light flickering, dreamlike and illusory, yet like a dangerous trap.

Blue voids appeared out of thin air.

A sharp, piercing cackle suddenly rang out.

"Hahahaha, look what I've found, a bunch of Spider-Men."

"And, us?"

"Peter Parker! I'm going to kill you."

"Hahahahaha..."

Green figures surged out like a tide, demonic masks, voices full of resentment, dense figures that were chilling, like a group of ghouls from the abyss.

"Oh my God!"

"This is a nightmare!"

"They look like green bats."

"Damian, summon Beheading Demon and protect yourself."

"Heheheh, so many more heads to chop."

"Kingpin, you're completely insane! They'll destroy everything, including yourself."

Qiuku Spider-Man shouted furiously.
