Ten minutes ago
"Nina, can I give you a hug?" Mom Venom squatted among the children, asking with a face full of anticipation.
"Yes, Aunt Venom," Nina replied obediently.
Surrounded by a group of children, Mom Venom looked content, her face beaming with a happy smile.
Xiaoyu rubbed her little face, which had been chafed red.
"Damian, are you like this at home too?"
"Pretty much, but Mom Venom prefers to be near Godfather," Damian said, holding a game console without lifting his head.
"Don't you like it, Xiaoyu? Although it's a bit ticklish, it feels quite comfortable to be rubbed," Penny said with a smile.
"It's not that I don't like it; it's just that I'm a little unaccustomed to it."
Xiaoyu was born into an Eastern family; no matter how much she liked children, she wouldn't be this enthusiastic.
The little girl lying on the bed heard the noisy sounds around her, frowned, and slowly opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was the dazzling sunlight outside the window.
Initially confused, she climbed out of bed and went to the window, closing her eyes to feel the warmth of the sun on her body.
"Damian, she's not going to turn into an idiot, is she?"
Xiaoyu's eyes widened as she asked curiously and worriedly.
"Why doesn't she put on clothes first?"
Penny shyly covered her face, peeking through the gaps in her fingers.
"..."
Damian looked at the person's back, her heart tightening; she felt the Shadow.
This feeling shouldn't appear in a small child.
But there's nothing to worry about; Mom Venom is here, and Godfather is downstairs.
Hearing the whispers behind her.
The little girl turned around and said, "So you're the ones who brought me here."
"We saved you."
Damian turned to see Mom Venom still engrossed in rubbing the children, so it was up to her.
"Save? Ridiculous! I, Goddess of Death, Hela, how could I possibly need the help of Midgardians? However, I now need a palace; you shall become my servants!
In the future, when I ascend Asgard, I can bestow upon you Eternity."
Hela's expression was arrogant, and her tone was matter-of-fact.
Mom Venom had already examined Hela's body; her cells contained powerful energy, but they had remained in an inert state, likely still under Odin's seal.
She could come out now, but her body had shrunk, probably because she came out with the seal. Until Odin's Death or the seal is broken, her current combat power should be similar to Captain America's.
Considering thousands of years of combat experience, she should be a bit stronger.
Mom Venom looked at Hela's haughty demeanor and couldn't help but find it amusing.
She was so small now, yet she still put on such an arrogant display.
"Wow, I've never seen anyone cooler than Damian! Goddess of Death, Hela, sounds so cool! I want to pick one too: Queen of Darkness, Xiaoyu."
Xiaoyu said excitedly.
"Xiaoyu, I want to be called Queen of the desert, Penny."
Penny thought of her father's magical ability to freely control Water, imagining whether she would also possess this ability when she grew up, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Nina, finally released, her hair messy, heard their conversation and eagerly joined in.
"Then I'll be Queen of Animals, Nina."
Damian looked at Hela's gloomy face, her vigilance not relaxing in the slightest.
"You are mocking a god! I sentence you to Death!" Hela waved her hand in anger.
The air was silent for a moment; nothing happened.
"My divine power?"
Hela's eyes widened, her face filled with disbelief as she looked at her hands.
Only then did Hela realize her state. Her body had shrunk, and her divine power was sealed.
"Damn Odin! He still won't let me go! One day, I will cut off your head!"
Hela roared venomously at the sky outside the window, her voice filled with anger and unwillingness.
"Odin? Isn't that the Nordic God King from the myths Dad told me about in bedtime stories?"
"In that myth, there was indeed a Hela, but she was very ugly."
"But this Hela is very beautiful."
Hela's roar didn't scare the little ones at all; their childish voices made even anger sound cute when you were weak enough.
"Damn it! Even without divine power, I am not someone you can insult!"
Hela lunged at the little ones by the bed.
"Wah, wah, wah! The Goddess of Death is going to kill someone!"
"Aunt Venom, help!"
"Wait for me."
The little ones were scared and scurried behind Mom Venom, who was watching the show.
Only Damian remained. She wanted to try.
Facing Hela, who was lunging at her, Damian slightly shifted to dodge, aiming for the heart—no, the liver—and threw a punch.
Hela showed an amused expression, easily dodging Damian's attack, and countered by raising her hand like a blade, striking towards her neck.
So fast!
Damian tilted her head back, and while off balance, lifted her foot to kick.
Hela blocked with her arm.
Damian did a backflip to regain her balance.
"Little one, again."
Hela beckoned to Damian, a provocative look in her eyes.
"Hmph!"
Damian, unconvinced, charged forward again.
Their movements were dazzling; Damian knew she couldn't hold back, using various killing techniques.
"That's right; once you make a move, you aim to kill. The enemy won't give you a chance to hold back."
Hela effortlessly neutralized all the moves, not even shifting her feet.
Even without divine power, thousands of years of combat skills and the physical prowess of an Asgardian were not something Damian could match.
The little ones peeked out from behind Mom Venom.
"Damian is amazing!" Xiaoyu's adoring gaze was fixed on Damian.
"But Damian doesn't seem to be able to beat her."
Nina looked at Hela, who was now using only one hand to counter.
"Aunt Venom, should we stop them?"
Penny, looking nervous, tugged at Mom Venom's sleeve and said timidly.
"No need! Damian, you can do it!"
Mom Venom clenched her fists and loudly cheered for Damian.
Damian's face was covered in sweat.
This feeling of her movements being seen through was so uncomfortable.
"Stop! Little one, your body is too weak." Hela frowned, looking at Damian, whose movements were gradually slowing down.
"..."
Damian didn't reply, holding her breath, gritting her teeth, and continuing to attack.
"Still stubborn."
No sooner had Hela's words fallen than Damian's vision blurred, and Hela instantly disappeared from her sight. She felt the world spin, and she was airborne.
Thud!
Damian lay on the ceiling, gasping for air, her chest heaving violently.
Seeing her little friend lose, Xiaoyu rushed over without hesitation.
Nina and Penny followed suit.
"Damian lost! No more fighting!"
Xiaoyu spread her arms, bravely blocking Damian's front.
Penny and Nina also came to block Hela.
Only then did Hela realize that she was actually being serious with a child. In Asgard, this would be like bullying a newborn baby.
Thinking of this, a trace of embarrassment and regret flashed across her face.
It must be Odin's seal playing tricks!
