Moreover, his goal wasn't merely 2 billion; he looked at Steve, a glint in his eyes.
Steve, on the other hand, looked at Peggy, his eyes filled with determination.
"I don't have money, you see, I'm worth…"
"2 billion, I'll buy it," Peggy interrupted Steve.
Steve looked at his beloved in surprise, his face full of disbelief, wondering where she got so much money.
"The Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a very convenient position."
Peggy winked playfully, a cunning smile on her face.
After so many years, how could she possibly live on just a dead-end salary?
Whether it was using her high position to open back doors for herself or withholding unused activity funds, she could make a fortune.
2 billion was still manageable.
Steve gave a wry smile, his heart a mix of emotions.
He knew Peggy might be doing this to cope with unknown risks and secure their future, but such methods ultimately went against the principles and beliefs he had always upheld.
But at this moment, to give Peggy a chance at extending her life, he couldn't blame her.
Tom was a bit surprised, but it didn't matter; he had a backup plan.
"I need to remind you two that the elixir can only be used once."
"That's enough; it can let me accompany him as he adapts to this new World, and then find a new lover to be by his side."
Peggy seemed to regain her vitality, her gaze at him full of vigilance.
"Peggy…"
Steve was deeply moved, his eyes slightly red, as he tightly held Peggy's hand.
However, one was young and handsome, while the other had white hair, and coupled with casually throwing out 2 billion, it looked like a soft-rice man inheriting a rich wife's inheritance.
Tom seemed touched by their story and gritted his teeth.
"Originally, this is company confidential and shouldn't be told to others, but Captain America and Ms. Carter have dedicated their lives to this country, so I'll tell you!"
"No need, I don't want to hear it."
Peggy just wanted to buy the elixir and leave; this cunning businessman wanted Steve.
"Mr. Tom, could you tell us?" Steve asked.
Steve, however, spoke up, asking, "Mr. Tom, could you tell us?" He wasn't satisfied with just ten years; he wanted to hear if there were other ways to buy Peggy more time.
"The Rejuvenation Elixir, Youth Doctor's latest creation, can return an elderly person's age to youth."
Tom's voice carried a hint of temptation.
Even Peggy's breathing became a little rapid, and she refused, "No need, we only need the life-extending elixir."
The life-extending elixir would already drain her assets; the Rejuvenation Elixir, without even thinking, would be an astronomical price.
She was well aware that such a luxury was beyond their means.
"Mr. Tom, how much is the Rejuvenation Elixir?" Steve asked, his eyes filled with anticipation and longing.
"This elixir will not be sold. The materials are scarce; it's an item only core personnel of the Demon Group can purchase, requiring 10,000 contribution points," Tom said calmly.
This contribution point system was proposed by him. As the Demon Group's influence grew, a reasonable reward, punishment, and promotion mechanism needed to be established internally, and thus the contribution point system came into being.
It not only measures an employee's value and contribution but also effectively incentivizes employees to create more benefits for the Group.
The internal members of the Group are clearly divided into three, two, one, and core personnel.
The items that can be purchased also vary, from various demonic superpowers to high-tech weapons, a dazzling array.
Even Iron Man suits could be bought; these were obsolete items that Tony himself put up, yet even as obsolete items, they were coveted treasures for many members.
"How to become core personnel?" Steve stared intently at Tom, his voice low and resolute.
He also knew he was stepping into an unknown vortex, but he couldn't refuse.
"Steve, I've lived long enough; ten years of life extension is enough," Peggy gently held Steve's hand.
"But it's not enough for me. I haven't gone on a date with you, danced with you, or…" Steve was a bit sad. She was the last person he knew and loved in this World.
"Sigh," Peggy sighed, a look of determination flashing in her eyes. At most, they would face it together.
"To become core personnel, normally you need to join the Group and start as a Level 3 employee, but I don't think you two can wait that long," Tom continued.
Tom continued, "There's another way: direct recommendation by core personnel. If you gain the leader's approval, you can also directly become core personnel."
"Then, Mr. Tom, are you one?" Steve asked eagerly.
"Of course, I was very lucky to gain the leader's appreciation. Otherwise, with my status, becoming a Level 1 employee would be the absolute highest I could reach."
Tom was also somewhat relieved to have joined the Demon Group when it was still in its infancy, directly becoming core personnel.
There was no other way; the Demon Group's benefits were too good.
"Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Tom," Steve stood up and bowed deeply, his eyes filled with earnestness and anticipation.
"Don't do that, Steve; we'll be colleagues from now on." Tom was startled by Steve's action and quickly stepped forward to help Steve up.
Those who grew up in this country, more or less, hold respect for Captain America, the hero.
Tom no longer wasted words, pulling out his phone to contact the leader.
"Hello, Tom, what's wrong?"
"Leader, nothing, it's just Captain America is here. I recommended him to become core personnel directly. Do you agree?"
"Captain America, what does he want?"
"The Rejuvenation Elixir."
"I'll be back."
After Tom hung up the phone, Steve eagerly asked, "Mr. Tom, is that all?"
"You'll have to wait a bit longer."
No sooner had Tom finished speaking than a portal opened beside him.
Qinuo walked out wearing beach shorts, looking casual and at ease.
"Steve Rogers, Peggy Carter."
Qinuo's gaze fell on the two of them.
"Demon King, I want to join the Demon Group," Steve said nervously, his hands unconsciously clenched. This was his last hope.
"First, tell me, how did you know about the life-extending elixir?" Qinuo's tone was calm; he didn't seem to show much surprise or enthusiasm about Captain America joining.
"I heard about it casually from someone else, Demon King. As long as you can give Peggy the Rejuvenation Elixir, I'll do anything."
Peggy gently tugged at Steve's sleeve and said, "Steve, don't be so servile."
Her eyes were full of heartache, yet also determination.
Qinuo's lips curved slightly, revealing a half-smile, and he said, "Heard about it casually? Although the life-extending elixir isn't a secret, it's not something you can just hear about casually."
"Demon King, I was at…" Steve recounted what happened at the hospital.
Qinuo understood that HYDRA was behind it. Was this an act of surrender?
However, he didn't need Captain America; in terms of power, he was just a super soldier, and the Demon Group had plenty. As for prestige, no one in this country could compare to him.
His only value was to serve as experimental material for Dr. Banner, to research the 2.0 version of the enhancement elixir.
Qinuo crossed his arms, his gaze sweeping back and forth over Steve.
Peggy stared at Qinuo. She didn't have the authority to access S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files now, so she could only gather information about the Demon King through news.
The Demon King's gaze at Steve didn't show respect; it even held a hint of disdain. Why?
Steve's act of saving the World was undeniable, and he had just woken up. Why would this be their first meeting?
Tom was also a bit confused, not knowing what the leader was thinking.
Steve, however, had a determined expression, waiting for Qinuo's reply.
After a moment of silence, Qinuo slowly spoke, "Steve, your conditions don't hold much appeal to me.
However, I can give you a chance. You answer a few questions for me."
"Alright," Steve responded without hesitation.
