Carmel, Texas.
Inside a wooden house on the edge of the town.
"You saved him. That was a good deed."
Eric's wife, Jenna, looked at Eric, who was packing, with confusion.
"That's not the point. If my identity is exposed, we will all be in danger."
"But this is our home, my daughter's home."
"Jenna, wherever we are together is home."
Eric cupped his wife's face in his hands and said affectionately.
"I understand."
Jenna nodded gently, no longer insisting, and turned to help pack.
Just then, a scream came from outside the house.
"Nina!"
Eric dropped everything and ran out.
Jenna followed closely behind him.
Outside the house.
A group of Police, armed with wooden bows and arrows, nervously watched Eric. His daughter, Nina, was being held hostage by one of them.
The leading Police officer held up an old newspaper with a photo of Eric attacking the U.S. President.
"You are the Magneto they spoke of."
Eric turned to look at his wife behind him, as if saying goodbye, then looked back at his daughter.
"Arrest me! Please, let my daughter go."
The leading Police officer pushed the little girl forward, and Eric slowly walked towards the Police.
"Quickly, go back to your mother."
Eric gently stroked his daughter's face.
Nina didn't understand what was happening. She turned and ran into her mother's arms.
Looking at her father, she saw his hands were tied. Nina knew something was wrong and reached out to her father.
"Please, don't leave me."
Jenna held her daughter in her arms, comforting her.
"Nina, Nina, don't be like that."
Eric looked at his daughter, who kept calling out to him, and his heart was filled with reluctance.
His gaze was full of love and helplessness, his eyes reddened, and his throat seemed to be choked by something, unable to utter a single word.
The Police suddenly heard something and all looked towards the sky and into the woods.
Birds kept gathering, densely packed.
"What's going on?"
"That girl is also a Mutant."
Eric also looked at the flock of birds in surprise; he hadn't expected his daughter to awaken her powers too.
"Quickly, make her stop these birds." The Police said to Eric.
"She's scared." Eric explained anxiously.
Some Police officers had already defensively drawn their bows and aimed at Nina.
"I won't let you take him."
Nina stared intently at the Police, her small face filled with stubbornness and anger.
As if sensing the strong emotional fluctuations in her Master's heart, the birds, like receiving a battle command, became frenzied.
They shrieked piercingly while vigorously flapping their wings, striking at the Police like a furious storm.
At the same time, they fiercely pecked at the Police with their incredibly sharp beaks.
Amidst this chaotic situation, a Police officer, due to excessive tension, loosened his grip, and a sharp arrow flew from the string, shooting directly towards Nina.
Eric's expression gradually turned to horror. He subconsciously tried to control the shot arrow, but to his despair, he found there was no metal on the arrowhead.
Just as the arrow was about to pierce them, a yellow electric light flashed.
A hand firmly caught the arrow.
"Perfect timing, isn't it, Lao Wan?"
"Yes, King."
Nina blinked her big Watery eyes, looking at the two people who suddenly appeared. One was a very handsome uncle, and the other…
"Father?" Nina called out, puzzled.
Magneto knelt down, looking at his young daughter, his eyes filled with guilt and tenderness. He carefully stroked her face, and tears rolled down uncontrollably.
"Nina, my daughter…"
His voice choked, filled with endless longing and tenderness.
Nina felt the warmth of that large hand and confirmed that this was her father.
"Father, don't cry, don't cry."
Her small hands struggled to wipe away the tears on Magneto's face, her innocent appearance heartbreaking.
Jenna, his wife, also looked at Magneto, then at Eric over there, her expression first stunned, then revealing a relieved smile.
Eric also broke free from his restraints and rushed over, snatching Nina back and checking her repeatedly.
"Nina, are you uncomfortable? Did that arrow hurt you anywhere?" Eric's voice was urgent and nervous.
"No, haha, Father, that tickles." Nina giggled.
Qinuo looked at the arrow in his hand and said to Magneto, "Were your eyes not good when you were young?"
Magneto looked at the younger Eric, who was interrupting his intimate moment with his daughter, and a flash of resentment, dissatisfaction, and murderous intent appeared in his eyes.
If there was a moment he was most dissatisfied with himself, it was now—indecisive, protecting nothing well.
"King, yes, not only were my eyes bad, but my mind was also problematic."
Even facing himself, Magneto showed no mercy.
"No, Eric, he's just too worried about his family."
At this moment, Jenna walked over, her gaze gently tracing the wrinkles left by time on Magneto's face.
"You've worked hard, Eric."
Jenna's voice was soft and warm, like a spring breeze caressing everyone's hearts.
"Jenna."
Magneto looked at her, his eyes full of deep affection; a thousand words seemed to converge in these simple two words.
Qinuo pretended to wipe away tears, exaggeratingly saying, "How touching! Good thing I also have a wife."
The surrounding Police, seeing the unfavorable situation, had already begun to quietly retreat, planning to leave.
Eric took off his daughter's necklace. At this moment, his eyes blazed with Fire. He didn't want to care about anything now; there was only one thought in his mind, and that was to kill this group of Police.
The necklace in his hand, under his control, shot towards the group of Police like an arrow released from a bowstring.
"Lao Wan, stop."
The necklace stopped in front of a Police officer's neck. The Police officer looked at the necklace in front of him in horror, his body trembling uncontrollably.
The veins on Eric's neck bulged, and he raised his hand, wanting to regain control, but he was powerless.
Magneto easily controlled the necklace back onto Nina's neck, looking at Eric with disdain.
Not to mention the eleven years of experience difference, Apocalypse's enhancement made them not on the same level of existence.
"Why did you stop me?" Eric looked at Magneto and roared, startling Nina in his arms.
"King said to stop, and you scared your daughter."
Magneto looked at Eric, his eyes full of disappointment.
King? Eric gradually regained his composure.
When he saw his other self, he understood what had happened.
Time travel—he clearly didn't have that ability.
So his future self recognized a King and returned to the past.
As for why he came back…
"I didn't protect them well."
"Humph!"
Magneto let out a cold snort, a snort that contained too much dissatisfaction and blame, everything unspoken.
Eric looked at his daughter in his arms, who was timidly looking at him, and his expression became dejected.
And those Police no longer dared to move.
