"What?" Medici snapped his gaze to Alaric, his eyes sharpening.
"You can probably guess, can't you? Since the Primordial Demoness loved Tudor so much, how could she not leave a contingency for his revival? Hmph, it's probably Tudor's only revival contingency, too. After all, the Primordial Demoness is a bit obsessive... she'd never tolerate her beloved slipping from her control."
Alaric couldn't help but laugh. The original story's absurdity was so over-the-top that even recalling it made him chuckle.
After laughing, he looked at Medici. "But I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the Primordial Demoness. You can't outplay her."
He was serious. Medici was too normal... how could a normal person outmaneuver a lunatic?
Medici's brows furrowed again, clearly disagreeing with Alaric's assessment. "With a well-set trap, even a Sequence 0 becomes prey once ensnared."
"But a lack of information is fatal for a conspirator." Alaric replied, not contradicting Medici outright. He smiled, took another bite of his apple, and continued, "Medici, do you know about the Primordial Demoness's connection to the Primordial God Almighty?"
Medici's eyes flickered, clearly catching on. He took a bite of his apple and said, "I can guess a bit. The Primordial Demoness never hid her ties to the Primordial God Almighty... she even wrote it into her doctrine. Most people don't believe it, but I don't ignore any possibility."
The Primordial Demoness had never concealed her connection to the Primordial God Almighty, even embedding it in her teachings. But most dismissed it, while Medici, ever vigilant, had long suspected it.
"The Primordial Demoness is the female aspect of the Primordial God Almighty." Alaric confirmed with a smile.
"Tch!" Even with his suspicions, Medici couldn't help but feel irritated at the confirmation. It meant hunting the Primordial Demoness would be far more challenging than dealing with an ordinary Sequence 0.
Alaric continued, grinning, "Medici, do you know about the Primordial Demoness's connection to the Original Creator?"
This was truly hidden knowledge, known to barely anyone in the current world... and certainly not to Medici, who'd been imprisoned for over a millennium.
"What do you mean?" Medici's expression turned grave. As a top-tier conspirator, even with limited information, he sensed something ominous.
"The Original Creator - the Oldest One - in the mirror." Alaric said slowly, meeting Medici's gaze with a smile. "That's the fifth line of her honorific name."
Medici's pupils constricted, his mind piecing together the known fragments into a conspiracy he could hardly believe.
Alaric tossed his apple core into the trash, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and looked at the pensive Medici with a grin. "I don't know if you've considered this, but I can tell you plainly: the Original Creator wants to live, too."
"The source of all beginnings, the origin of madness and reason, left a revival contingency. Guess where He placed it?"
Medici clearly had an inkling, his voice strained as he answered, "The City of Calamity, the Demoness and Hunter pathways."
"Correct! Want another apple?" Alaric nodded, pulling another apple from nowhere and offering it.
Medici's train of thought was interrupted again, leaving him both exasperated and amused. But seeing Alaric's calm demeanor, he relaxed, taking the apple. "You really like apples, don't you?"
"Not really. I just thought you might. You know, 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away,'" Alaric replied with a grin.
"Sounds like it lacks any occult basis." Medici said, already crunching into the apple.
"At least it's a good omen." Alaric said earnestly.
"Tch!" Medici scoffed, then noticed Alaric pulling out coffee beans, apparently preparing to grind a fresh cup.
"Is this really appropriate?" Medici finally couldn't hold back. "Making coffee while discussing such a serious topic?"
"What's inappropriate? It's not a big deal." Alaric said, as if puzzled by Medici's tension. He leisurely worked the coffee grinder, then looked up with a grin. "It's just the Original Creator wanting to revive, only to get outplayed by an old schemer and suppressed by the Primordial Demoness, who then used Him."
Are you listening to yourself? Is that supposed to be "just"?
Medici had thought himself quite the Hunter, but watching Alaric calmly grind coffee, clearly deeming the Original Creator's plight less important than his brew, Medici couldn't help but say, "It's a pity you're not a Hunter."
Look at that silent mockery... even the Celestial Worthy would have to bow down.
"Thanks for the compliment, but the Hunter pathway's not for me. Climbing to the top requires a gender swap, which doesn't suit me." Alaric said seriously, then gave Medici an appraising look. "But it'd suit you, Medici. After all, Mr. Sauron and Mr. Einhorn were once ladies."
"Hahahaha!" Medici laughed, perhaps out of anger or something else, but he quickly composed himself. "Who's the old schemer? Cheek's mad, but I don't believe he could suppress the Original Creator's will, even if it's just a fragment."
Alaric glanced at him, smiling. "The old schemer is the Celestial Worthy, of course... your so-called Lord of Mysteries. It's because of Him that the Original Creator's will was suppressed by the Primordial Demoness."
Medici's expression showed no surprise, as if he'd already suspected as much.
While grinding coffee beans, Alaric continued, "And that gave the Primordial Demoness a possibility... the chance to replace the Original Creator herself."
"Just Her?" Medici could hardly describe his feelings. The world had truly gone mad.
"Of course not just Her. There's Tudor, too. The Primordial God Almighty, the Celestial Worthy's will, revival contingencies…" Alaric finished grinding the beans and looked at Medici. "Put those together, and what do you think? Could they create a mini Original Creator?"
