Chapter 124 - CHAPTER 124

On the Hill of Sōkyoku, many captains and vice-captains had gathered.

The captains present included Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, Kyōraku Shunsui, Unohana Retsu, Shiba Kaien, and Kuchiki Byakuya.

The vice-captains present were Isane Kotetsu, Ōmaeda Marechiyo, and Shibata.

After Shiba Kaien left the Thirteenth Division's command structure, Shibata took over his duties and became vice-captain.

Additionally, the Thirteenth Division's Third Seats—Kiyone Kotetsu and Sentarō Kotsubaki—were also present.

Meanwhile, Ukitake Jūshirō had gone to the Shihōin Clan estate to retrieve the Heavenly Soldier restraints in order to completely neutralize the Sōkyoku.

However, Suì-Fēng, who was supposed to appear here, did not arrive. Before she reached the hill, she received a message that Yoruichi Shihōin had been sighted.

After leaving the division barracks, Suì-Fēng headed into the forest on the northern slope of Sōkyoku Hill, slipping silently between the trees.

In the middle of the forest, within the shade of the branches, she saw a familiar silhouette—someone she once admired more than anyone, but now hated with all her heart.

"Yoruichi!"

Suì-Fēng grit her teeth and shouted.

Yoruichi heard the voice, turned around, and smiled lightly. "Suì-Fēng… long time no see."

"…It has been a long time," Suì-Fēng replied coldly, her expression dark.

Yoruichi laughed gently. "Little Bee, you've changed. Your appearance suits you… you aren't as stiff as before."

"This uniform? It was made for me by Kurotsuki Renya."

Her voice sharpened.

"And the man you helped escape—Urahara Kisuke—killed Renya."

The words ignited Suì-Fēng's fury.

She stepped lightly—and her body vanished into Shunpō, appearing above Yoruichi and unleashing a downward kick aimed at her head.

"So fast…" Yoruichi muttered, surprised as she raised one arm to block the kick.

Suì-Fēng spun mid-air, twisting her hips and striking again with her opposite foot, aiming straight for Yoruichi's chest.

But Yoruichi tapped her toes—and her figure flickered. She reappeared at Suì-Fēng's flank, delivering a sharp palm strike.

Suì-Fēng countered with a clenched fist.

Their blows met with a deep, dull impact.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

The two exchanged relentless strikes, fists and feet clashing so quickly they left streaks of afterimages across the air.

After dozens of rapid exchanges, both retreated, landing on separate branches.

"I didn't expect you to have grown this much," Yoruichi said with an approving smile.

Suì-Fēng snorted. "Ever since you betrayed the Seireitei, I have trained for over a hundred years—waiting for the day I could defeat you."

Before meeting Kurotsuki Renya, she wanted strength so she could demand the answer she longed for:

Why didn't Yoruichi take her along?

But now, because of Renya's death, only hatred remained.

She would capture Yoruichi. Torture her. And avenge Renya.

"Little Bee… you still have far to go," Yoruichi said gently.

"Don't call me that!"

Suì-Fēng drew her Zanpakutō, stabbing the tip toward the ground.

Instantly, the operatives of the Onmitsukidō—her own Punishment Force—appeared surrounding Yoruichi.

"I am the Commander-in-Chief of the Onmitsukidō and Captain of the Second Division," Suì-Fēng declared.

"When the Commander draws her blade, execution begins. Anyone who opposes the Commander becomes a target of elimination.

So—enjoy yourself."

At her command, more than a dozen Punishment Force members rushed at Yoruichi.

"Too slow."

Yoruichi prepared to counter when a small, round device flew toward her.

"…Huh?" Yoruichi's brows rose.

She shunpō-stepped back just as the bomb exploded in a burst of piercing white light.

But every operative—including Suì-Fēng—was already wearing tinted goggles, blocking the flash.

When the light faded, Yoruichi stood untouched—wearing goggles of her own.

"You—?!"

Suì-Fēng stared in disbelief.

Yoruichi twirled the goggles playfully.

"Kūkaku and I go way back. I know all the functions behind the fireworks you've been buying."

"Damn it…"

Suì-Fēng cursed, finally remembering that Shiba Kūkaku and Yoruichi were childhood friends.

Of course Kūkaku would tell Yoruichi everything.

"Enough. Kill her."

The operatives dashed forward again—but Yoruichi's figure flickered.

Within seconds, every operative lay unconscious on the ground.

"Suì-Fēng, asking your subordinates to fight me is insulting."

Yoruichi smirked.

"Don't forget, I have a title that has never once been taken from me—

Flash Goddess, Yoruichi."

"Shunshin… Yoruichi," Suì-Fēng whispered.

"Fine. Then today, I will take that name from you."

She threw off her Haori, revealing her tight black combat suit.

It was no longer the standard Executive Militia uniform—it was the first custom battle suit crafted by Kurotsuki Renya.

He had intended to make a second version for her, but he died that very night.

Suì-Fēng replicated the suit later—not only because it suited her movements better, but because it reminded her of Renya.

Seeing it, Yoruichi smiled.

"You changed your uniform? You really have changed. You're nothing like the girl you used to be."

"Really? Feeling nostalgic?" Suì-Fēng said mockingly.

"Just a little."

"Then enjoy your nostalgia… because you're stuck in the past."

Suì-Fēng vanished.

In an instant, the two women clashed again—fists, feet, elbows, knees, every limb a weapon.

Within seconds they had exchanged dozens of strikes.

They separated. A footprint marked Suì-Fēng's shoulder.

Suì-Fēng grinned.

"You kicked me."

"Oh? Then let's call it even."

Yoruichi wiped blood from the corner of her mouth.

"You've grown strong… is it because of the new suit?"

"Aren't our suits similar?" Suì-Fēng said as she appeared behind Yoruichi.

Her Zanpakutō had transformed—her Shikai: Suzumebachi, a golden needle-like stinger wrapped in black markings, pressed against Yoruichi's neck.

"Sting all enemies to death—

Suzumebachi!"

Yoruichi shunpō-stepped away—but Suì-Fēng reappeared behind her mid-air.

Yoruichi landed lightly on a far branch, eyes narrowed.

"Have you forgotten?" Suì-Fēng smirked.

"If I strike you twice in the same spot, you die."

Yoruichi looked down. A single hornet-mark—Hōmonka—was already on her abdomen.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I need you alive… to find Urahara.

I'll capture you. I'll torture you."

The reiryoku behind Suì-Fēng ignited—her Shunkō exploding into her limbs.

WHOOSH—

Her speed skyrocketed as she blurred toward Yoruichi, fist chambered—

But Yoruichi caught the strike with her palm, blue reiryoku wrapped around her own arm.

"You—?!"

Suì-Fēng's eyes widened.

"It seems," Yoruichi smirked,

"you're not the only one who knows Shunkō."

(In the original manga, Suì-Fēng's Shunkō severely injured Yoruichi and forced her to flee. But once Yoruichi activated her own Shunkō, Suì-Fēng was instantly overwhelmed. In this version, Suì-Fēng is even stronger now.)
