Chapter 6 - Episode 6

Episode Six: The Brothers Galdin and Velda

After becoming friends with Thomas, he shared with Galdin and Velda three important steps they needed to follow. The first: go to the Grand Sorcerers' Library to retrieve a document.

The trio — Thomas, Galdin, and Velda — set off for the library. On the way...

Galdin: This city is truly strange, but why is it surrounded by a massive wall? And who are those people in the formal suits?

Thomas: This is a military city. For the past thousand years, it's been under attack by evil sorcerers, not to mention bizarre and wild creatures. The ones in suits are magical police officers — their job is to maintain public safety and monitor everything happening outside the city.

Galdin: But we were outside. How didn't they notice us?

Thomas (laughing): You came from the left side, didn't you?

Galdin: Yes.

Thomas: Haha, then you're lucky — the left side is guarded by Lafrito, the same man who told you about me.

They passed by a floating palace suspended in the air by enormous steel chains, each a meter thick.

Galdin: What is that strange building?

Thomas: That's the Palace of the Grand Sorcerers. The world's strongest wizard lives there. It's the city's control center.

They continued walking until they reached the public library. From the outside, it looked ordinary — but inside, it was unimaginably vast. It was ten times larger than it appeared from outside, strange and wondrous, and divided into many sections. The bookshelves stretched endlessly in every direction. People summoned books down to them, some flew using magic, and others even fought over rare tomes.

Thomas smiled and said,

"Don't worry. Our section isn't hard to reach — it's the legal affairs section. It'll be easy."

They walked to a table and sat. Thomas placed a small book on the table and said,

"O book, guide us to the Legal Affairs section now."

The book opened on its own, its pages flipped rapidly, then it suddenly shut — and in an instant, the three were teleported into a dark, cold maze of books. It was silent.

They turned around and saw a girl.

Girl: What do you want?

Thomas: We're looking for the Tutuz Document.

Girl: Very well. My name is Amy. I'm in charge of this section, and I'll lead you to it.

(Then she laughed and said:)

"But I'm always bored — no one ever comes here. So, you have to solve a riddle to find it."

Galdin: What? Why?

Amy: If you don't like it, I'll kick you out and curse you with the Banishment Curse. You'll never return here again.

Velda: Fine, give us your riddle!

(thinking: I want to help... I don't want to be useless.)

Amy: Here's the riddle: "My heart is green, and my body is knowledge... Find me."

You have one hour.

Then she vanished.

Thomas (confused): I didn't understand a thing... We're doomed.

Velda: Don't worry, I'll try to solve it. ("My heart is green"... Hmm, she said she's in charge of this section, right?)

Thomas and Galdin: Yes.

Velda: Then let's split up and search for something green.

Galdin: But this is a maze! What if we get lost?

Thomas: Don't worry, it's quiet — if we shout, we'll hear each other for sure.

The three split up: Thomas headed north, Galdin to the right, and Velda straight ahead.

As Galdin walked, he thought about the riddle:

("My heart is green"... We're truly in a strange world. Maybe we're inside her "body" — and her body is knowledge, meaning books. But what is her heart?)

Meanwhile, Thomas found a long staircase.

Thomas: Should I go up? All right...

As he climbed, he encountered an old man who could barely move.

Thomas: Old man, are you okay?

Old man: You'll perish... Don't go up...

Thomas: What?

Old man: Every step you take ages you by a year. I was twenty — now I'm seventy. I jumped from the top of the stairs... and shattered my body. I've been lying here for three days... I'm dying...

The old man passed away in front of Thomas, saving him from a trap that could've ended him.

Thomas turned back, as did Galdin when he realized his path was endless.

But Velda had chosen the right path. He arrived at a massive circular hall with round tables — and in the center was a giant green vase containing a glowing green gem.

Velda: There it is! I found her heart!

He ran toward it without thinking — suddenly, the tables, chairs, and books began spinning like a whirlwind, defending the vase. One of the tables struck him hard in the face, launching him through the air with a scream!

Thomas and Galdin heard his scream and rushed toward it.

Only twenty minutes remain...

What will Thomas, Galdin, and Velda do next?

All will be revealed in Episode Seven...
