Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Jasmine packed her bags as she got ready to leave the realm. She felt really nervous because this time she wasn't just travelling to another kingdom or village, but to a place in a foreign world.

She made sure she took everything she needed, including some expensive stuff she knew she wouldn't be using, but she couldn't just let it go. Making her way towards the palace gate, there was no one to send her off apart from Layla, her loyal maid. After some tears from Layla, Jasmine went east, where she'd see the teleportation circle and other humans who are going to the academy.

When she got there, she looked around but didn't see anyone. Was she just too early? She decided to wait a little to see if some people were coming.

After a long wait, there was a crowd of people she could see from afar. They could also be planning to go to the academy. They neared, and she could see an army of girls. Why? When they all arrived, she asked one of the girls what was going.

"'Excuse me, are you all here for the exam?' Jasmine asked, trying to get some information.

"You don't know? Ethan would be attending the academy again this year" the girl replied as she walked away.

"I just asked a 'yes' or 'no' question" Jasmine muttered, watching the girl walk away.

She had heard of Ethan, of course. The rumours said he was handsome, but she didn't seem to see him anywhere.

Just then, a voice interrupted her thoughts. "I am Robert, your human guide. You all are meant to go in, ten at a time, okay."

They all nodded as the first group left, followed by the second group, and so on. After a ton of groups of girls and a few boys, it was finally Jasmine's turn. Why was she the only one left? she thought to herself, feeling a bit anxious. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward, making her way to the circle.

Wait for me,' a voice interrupted, which made her halt and turn back.

'Why are you late?' Robert asked.

'Late? You call this late? At least the circle is still here,' he defended in a rude yet arrogant tone, which was not to Jasmine's liking. He turned to Jasmine, who was about to enter the circle, before giving her a wild smile. 'I am Ethan. You are...?'

Jasmine didn't like exchanging names, and it was the first time someone willingly asked for hers. But this guy was too straightforward and arrogant, which she didn't like, so she scoffed and entered the circle.

"'Don't you know who I am? I'm Ethan,' he said, jumping into the circle before it transported her away. Then Robert joined in. Still, Jasmine ignored him, and there was total silence till the teleportation circle did its magic.

Jasmine's father paced back and forth in the hall, waiting for news about Jasmine. He stopped when the guards announced the presence of the people he sent to kill his daughter.

'Is she dead?' he asked curiously, his voice laced with anticipation.

One of the guards shook their head before bowing. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty. We couldn't... there was a crowd, and we ended up getting beaten for no reason by some of them."

His eyes widened, hearing what they had to say 'Could she have hired? Did she know my plan? "No, no... We can still do something, I can't divorce Claudine" he muttered. "Find a way…find a way to get to the academy"

"We are sorry, but we can't... the circle has closed" one of the men pleaded.

"Find a way, you must kill her!' he shouted, smashing things on the floor, desperation visible in his tone.

Seeing the look on the king's face, the two men exited.

"I did not permit you to go" he shouted even louder. "Guards, send those two women to my chambers tonight. I need to clear my head."

Meanwhile, Jasmine felt nervous as the magic circle teleported them to a really big place, which seemed like a palace with little changes. She was fascinated by the faces she saw. This was not like she imagined; it was better than she imagined.

"Good day, everyone" a man's voice could be heard from the top of the building. Everyone shifted their attention and listened attentively to the man who was speaking. "Out all the humans, demons, witches/wizards and dragons gathered here today, only the ones that make it through the exam would be admitted to the great extra-natural academy. The examination starts tomorrow and until it's over, you'll all be staying here. We've made arrangements for your stay, dividing you into groups according to your respective race, each led by a guide from your realm" He paused for a while before continuing. "I'll introduce the four of us, this is Miss Amber Thompson, she's human. Miss Crocetta rose who is a witch. Professor Alexander gray, a dragon and I'm Professor Caleb Flynn" He introduced, pointing to each one of them.

Jasmine wasn't sure how unity would be achieved among the gathered crowd as everyone seemed unfriendly. Surprisingly, being around extra-natural beings didn't make her feel nervous- she felt fine. However, the tense atmosphere made her anxious.

After Professor Flynn finished his speech, they all headed to their respective dorms with their guides. Jasmine felt quite nervous as she didn't know how to socialize, all she cared about was training but she didn't have proper home training on how to speak to people.

The humans shared themselves into their dorms and other beings did the same. Jasmine felt suffocated, despite the room's good ventilation, as she stood at the door observing her teammates.

"Jasmine, right?" One of the girls asked which made jasmines eyes widen; she was already planning on how she'd live with her roommates the hard way.

"Yh, I'm sure you've probably heard of me" she replied, placing her bag on one of the beds.

"Of course! Who hasn't? But right now we're in another realm so we're not princesses…we're just us!" She paused for a while. "Well, why don't we introduce ourselves? I'm Lydia"

"Ruby"

"Amanda"

They all introduced themselves one after the other. Jasmine knew what Lydia said was right, so she'll try to be friendly. "Jasmine" She said, joining the trend.

They kept on talking and laughed as they shared their experiences throughout the night.
