The night sky was red.
Not from the sunset… but from fire.
Half of the city lay in ruins — buildings crumbling, the air thick with smoke, and screams echoing through the streets. Sparks rained down like dying stars. The acrid scent of burning metal stung every breath.
Ela stood in the center of it all, her golden aura flaring like a living sun, strands of her hair whipping around her face in the scorching wind. Her eyes locked on Gabrielle — who floated above the street, her green power swirling like a violent storm.
Gabrielle smirked, voice dripping with venom.
"Look at them, Ela… all of this because you refused to bow to me."
The ground shook under their power. People ran, soldiers fought in the distance, but in this moment, the battlefield belonged to the two of them.
Ela took one step forward, her voice cutting through the chaos.
"Gabrielle… stop. This ends here. This is between you and me — leave them out of it."
Behind her, Daniel stepped forward, his blue energy flashing like lightning.
"She's right. This fight isn't for innocents to suffer."
Liam's aqua flames danced around his hands as he joined them, standing shoulder to shoulder with Daniel.
"We protect our own. Always."
Jack moved to Ela's side, his red aura igniting in a blaze that lit the smoke-filled air. His hand brushed hers for a second — silent reassurance.
"You won't face her alone."
For the first time, Gabrielle's confident smile faltered.
Four alphas, powers colliding in a brilliant storm, ready to strike.
The air itself trembled.
Ela's golden light brightened, her voice ringing like a battle bell.
"Let's finish this."
Smoke is still rising, people are screaming, but Daniel is casually eating a sandwich he somehow saved during the chaos.
Ela: "Daniel! This is not snack time!"
Daniel: "What? You said we should keep our energy up for the fight."
Liam is trying to look serious but keeps choking because Jack accidentally sprayed him with the water bottle he was using to clean soot off Ela's hair.
Gabrielle, on the giant screen (still trying to look menacing): "You all think you can—", but her evil laugh gets interrupted by a random city cat walking across the camera and knocking it over.
Jack smirks: "Wow… big villain energy right there."
Ela, annoyed but smiling: "Okay, focus! We still have to stop her before she burns the other half of the city… and possibly my favorite café."
The team is gathered in the middle of the destroyed street, trying to make a plan. Smoke is everywhere, alarms are still ringing… and somehow, this turns into a disaster of its own.
Ela: "Alright, everyone, focus. Gabrielle is—"
Daniel: (interrupts) "I call dibs on not fighting her. Last time she nearly turned my hair green."
Liam: "That was an accident."
Daniel: "Accident?! My shampoo budget says otherwise!"
Jack: (ignoring them) "We need a distraction. Something so ridiculous, she won't see it coming."
Ela: "Like what?"
Jack: (dead serious) "We send Daniel first. He'll annoy her into surrender."
Daniel: "EXCUSE ME?! I am not a—"
A random street vendor appears out of nowhere, pushing a food cart through the rubble.
Vendor: "Roasted corn! Fresh roasted corn!"
Liam: (already pulling out money) "I'll take two."
Ela: "Why do I even bother…"
Suddenly, Gabrielle's voice comes through the speakers: "Are you seriously having a snack break right now?!"
Daniel: (mouth full) "Yes. Want some?"
Gabrielle just stares on the screen, completely speechless.
Jack: "Perfect. She's confused. Move in."
The team decides they need to sneak into Gabrielle's base at night. The plan? Silent, professional infiltration. The reality? Not even close.
Ela: "Okay… this is a stealth mission. No talking, no noise, no—"
Daniel: (trips over a trash can) "AHHH—"
Jack: "…"
Liam: "So much for stealth."
They manage to crawl through an air vent… until Daniel gets stuck halfway.
Daniel: "Uh, guys… I think I'm stuck."
Ela: "What do you mean you're stuck?"
Daniel: "I mean… my butt won't fit."
Jack: (sighs) "This is why I told you to skip dessert."
Daniel: "HEY—"
Suddenly, the vent gives way and they all crash into Gabrielle's conference room—where Gabrielle is just sitting with tea.
Gabrielle: "…Were you planning to assassinate me or audition for a circus?"
Ela: "Uh… surprise?"
Liam: (already stealing a cookie from her table) "These are good."
Gabrielle: "Those are poisoned."
Liam: "…I'll take my chances."
[Scene: Gabrielle's HQ, still the same night]
Gabrielle sits at the head of the table, staring at Ela, Liam, Daniel, and Jack — now all slouched in chairs like they're in detention.
Gabrielle: "…So. You broke into my building. You ruined my meeting. And you destroyed my chandelier."
Daniel: "Technically, Liam destroyed the chandelier. I only destroyed the table."
Liam: "Technically, Jack pushed me."
Jack: "Technically, Ela told us to move fast."
Ela: "…Technically, I regret knowing all of you."
Gabrielle sighs, rubbing her temples.
Gabrielle: "You're supposed to be my enemies… but I feel like I'm babysitting."
Daniel: "You'd make a great babysitter. Can I have juice?"
Gabrielle: "…Get out."
[Five minutes later — they're still there.]
Liam is showing Gabrielle pictures on his phone.
Liam: "This was my breakfast. Look at that egg, perfect circle."
Gabrielle: "…Why am I looking at your egg?"
Liam: "Because it's the only thing I did right today."
Jack, whispering to Ela: "We should be threatening her, not… bonding over eggs."
Gabrielle: "Oh no, you're not threatening anyone. You're too ridiculous to take seriously."
Suddenly, Gabrielle's phone rings. She steps away to take the call.
The team?
They immediately start snooping.
Daniel: "Ooo, free cookies."
Ela: "Don't touch anything!"
Daniel: (already eating) "Too late."
Jack: "Why are you like this?"
Gabrielle comes back to find:
Liam wearing her tiara again.
Jack asleep on her couch.
Daniel halfway inside the cookie jar.
Ela pretending she's the new CEO.
Gabrielle just… stares.
Gabrielle: "…I should hate you."
Ela: "…But you don't."
Gabrielle: "…I think I've accidentally adopted you."
From that day on, Gabrielle becomes their reluctant big sister figure — helping them sometimes, threatening them other times, and constantly questioning her life choices.
To be continued…
