Vanilla sat curled against the stone cold wall, eyes filled with the horror of what she had seen. She had thought about it long and hard– she had wished to escape before only because she couldn't stay there, but now, she had to escape in order to free herself from that monster. The sound of Conor's bone being broken still left her on the edge. "Are you there?" Connor had not spoken to her since he was thrown back to his cell, and she could hear his occasional moans of pain.
Her question was met with silence, at least his moans of pain gave her hope that he was alive. "I will get us out of here." She silently promised, he had gotten hurt because of her after all, it was now her duty to help him. As she was busy thinking of her plans, familiar footsteps accompanied by other hurried footsteps sounded from afar, making her tense. She could still remember her interaction with him– Vanilla couldn't wait to escape the place.
"I see you are awake." it was a statement, yet hearing his voice once again made shiver run down her spine– the kind of shiver she shouldn't have. "It's time my muse, time for your fate to be decided."
"Don't call me that." Vanilla snapped, Darkness's lips twitched.
"And what would you prefer? Prey? Cat? Pet? I can call you anything you wish."
"Vanilla. My name is Vanilla."
"Vanilla…" He stretched the word, as if tasting it. " That's even better." Darkness opened the bar door like it was nothing, Vanilla couldn't figure out how he did it, because she tried opening that door and it didn't even budge. She hastened to her feet, meeting his eyes without showing weakness. Darkness stopped only when he was right in front of her, his hand traced her cheek, erupting goosebumps on every path his cold hand touched. " It's your only chance Vanilla… make it worthwhile."
Vanilla said nothing, lost in the feel of his cold touch against her warm skin, despite how hard she tried to believe she wasn't. Darkness trailed her lips only for a short while. "This is our first deal, a new one will be made when you become mine."
"I will never be yours." She whispered, yet her parted lips and short breath betrayed her. Darkness withdrew his hand, walked out of the cell, his back to her.
"That depends on how fast you can run. Just know that no matter how much you run, you will NEVER escape me." Vanilla's face contorted in anger, but before she could speak, she heard his order Ethan. "Release the human male, let them escape together. I would like to see how far a human cripple and a wounded human can get." Only at this moment did Vanilla realize why Darkness had broken Connor's leg, it made her feel like a fool. Darkness had done it on purpose, and there she was thinking he did it because he wanted to. It turned out that he was one step ahead of them.
Ethan went into Connor's cell and brought him out, then he threw him to the ground, Vanilla quickly ran towards him, but she was grabbed by the wrist as she ran past Darkness. "Bring the human." He commanded the others in the room, then he started walking out, Vanilla tried prying his grip off her wrist but who was she kidding? She was just a human against the Alpha. Her efforts were futile.
"Let go of me!" She demanded, fighting with all her strength.
"Save your strength, trust me you will need it." Darkness spoke with impatience– this calmed Vanilla down as she thought of the escape she was about to do, if felt like she was a prey in a hunting game, and Darkness was the predator who was willingly allowing his prey to think she was free, when indeed, it had all been planned.
When the sunlight hit her eyes, Vanilla hissed, closing her eyes to stop the pain, it felt like she had not seen the sun for eternity. She squinted her eyes open in order to look around, but darkness walked too fast, she tripped multiple times yet he was unwilling to slow down for her. When he reached a path that led to a big mansion, Darkness suddenly stopped, almost causing Vanilla to fall. Before she could regain her balance or scold him, she felt herself leaving the ground.
"What are you doing?" She exclaimed, eyes filled with horror as she found herself in Darkness's arms, he had picked her up like she was a new bride.
"Humans are too slow, at this rate, night will come before I can have my fun." Was his reply, before she could retort, a gust of wind blew, the world blurred as Darkness ran, still in his human form, Vanilla in his arms, yet it looked like he carried nothing but paper, this made her wonder how powerful he was. The Wind blew her hair around, and her nose crinkled with disgust, the moment she saw her dirty hair. Then her gaze turned to Darkness. Seeing him in the sunlight, he looked dazzling and cold.
Like a star in the sky, unreachable, dangerous, alone, yet one couldn't help but want to reach it. His face was nothing like him or his voice, never had she seen a man so beautiful yet haunting. Her thoughts had not gotten far when Darkness stopped. "You will have enough of both my face and me soon." His voice startled her, heat creeped up her cheek but she pretended to be confused about what he meant. Darkness gently placed her on her feet. "The crippled male will be brought to you soon."
Her earlier thoughts disappeared, her mind chided her for being stupid and forgetting who the man before her really was, shifted back, putting space between them. "I will leave this place, and this will all just be a bad dream I will never return to."
Darkness crossed the distance between them, his face stone cold, the tease he had in his voice gone. "Then run Vanilla, because if, no, when I catch you, you will never be able to escape me. I will have you whenever I want, wherever I want and however I want."
Vanilla's mouth parted, his word aroused a part of her that had long been abandoned, she stood paralysed, dirty and wrong thoughts filling her mind. Seeing this, Darkness's eye shone with glee, Vanilla quickly put a space between them. "That will never happen, not even in your dream." The ground shook, and the sound of running werewolves got Vanilla back to her senses. She created more distance between her and Darkness.
Ethan's wolf appeared carrying a blank-eyed Conor, he stopped in front of Darkness, threw Conor to the ground harshly, bowed, and ran to a shade to turn. Three more grey werewolves stood in alert, watching them. Darkness watched as Vanilla ran to help Conor. "Are you okay?" Her eyes were filled with concern. He averted his gaze, then he took out a map ajs threw it to them.
"This map will lead you to the portal that will get you back to the human realm. I will come for you in a day." He informed me, then turned his back and left. After this departure, Ethan came back to them.
"Alpha has given you a chance, you should make proper use of it, but I hope you are unable to escape, your presence has been fun." He mused, then he turned his back and left with the other grey werewolves. Vanilla was ignored by Conor, despite her effort to speak.
"We must go now, if we escape, he won't come for us anymore."
"And you believe that? Do you think those monsters will let us live?" Conor suddenly roared, eyes bloodshot. "My leg is crippled, and he lets us go today, isn't this his plot to slow us down?"
"I am sorry, for you le-"
"I don't need your apology." He tried standing but he couldn't, so Vanilla ran to him, trying to help but he pushed her away. "Stay away from me you slut!"
"What the fuck Conor, I was only trying to help." Vanilla argued back, but her argument made Conor twist his face.
"I saw the way you were looking at him back there, you had not left the cell but you were already fucking him before he even got to you. You women are all the same, you can't stay a day without taking a d**k." Vanilla slapped him, gaze burning with barely controlled furry.
"You are a bastard Conor, I should have left you there to your death." She scoffed. "I can't believe I felt guilty, it took all my strength to get us this chance and instead of thinking of a way to escape, you are actually pinning blames!" Conor's gaze burst in rage, deep rage that turned his eyes bloodshot, Vanilla had little foundation in boxing and she was weak in protecting herself when it came to combat.
She had already started planning on how to defeat him if he tried anything funny. However, the thought of gaining a foe gave her a migraine. However, Conor didn't act as she had expected. Instead, he looked her straight in the eyes, gaze filled with disgust and ridicule. " Why the anger? Is it because you know damn well that I am right?" He lowered his voice, then added. " I know you will not put your all into escaping because you want to know how it feels to be claimed by him. Isn't it?"
