I've got the woods and the new power that lets me one hit trees by the blessing of the spirit called Enigma. Now, i'm seeking to explore a higher ground to set up my base and experiment with the my new found powers in this strange world of minecraft.
I tried picking up the wood blocks and i found that, i could actually carry multiples of the same block if i place it on top of each other like in the video game but, i still have no inventory or crafting dialogue. I took the wood blocks with me and headed to that small mountain. I can set up my temporary home there and explore the world for the time being without the fear of monsters catching up to on the sun set.
I climbed up the hill, one jump at a time, sometimes even sprinting while i climbed my way to the top - all the while examining carefully around the area for any cave openings or a coal deposit. I would need coal before evening or it would be tough to survive. But as far as i could see, there's no sign of coal here. I guess, i'll just get to a high ground and look for any signs from up there. There's always better places to camp in a minecraft world. It's very easy to get comfortable and attached to a place that doesn't serve any purpose, most players make this mistake of sticking to one base of operation and forgetting that a whole world full of possibilities exist outside their safe zone. I made that mistake plenty of times while playing the game when i was young. I still do this mistake to this day. But, if i want to survive smarter, i have to always reach out to the best resources and opportunities in every biome that i'm going to travel. I need to travel outside this biome once i gather enough materials, sort of my own starter pack for the journey.
As i climbed more and more, i realised that this mountain is not small like i imagined it to be. When i've played the game, things like these were so easy. Just a click of the mouse button every now and then while spamming the space bar will nearly get me up to the top of any mountain. Now that i'm actually inside this game, every movement consumes my energy, it takes real effort to jump across blocks. I got plenty of bruises on my knees and foot by the time i reached all the way up. I have to craft boots soon. If i could find some cows around this area, it would be perfect. But, all i see is some sheeps and chickens grazing a few blocks away on the ground. There's a pool of lava on the far east, to my 1 O'Clock to be precise, some trees are scattered out and everything beyond is foggy. Maybe, the rendering distance is low but also, i have a strong feeling that i'm not in the latest version of the game. I might be in the early alpha builds like version 1.1.0 but that's just a guess since, there's no way to prove it at this moment.
The visuals seem more attuned to the human eyes than the graphic specifications and assets of the actual game. In simpler terms, it means that i can see realistic shadow and lighting, which is a far cry from the actual game's graphics unless it's loaded with mods. I think, this is happening because my eyes interpret the world better than a computer could.
I looked up and saw that the clouds move more smoothly, like how real clouds would. I breathed in and felt the sweet smell of cold air with a hint of spring leaves.
It's going to rain. I see that the sun is going down a lot faster.
I'm going to dig a hole here and make this my home base for the night, and head out to the north west direction to seek more tall mountains tomorrow.
And now, it's time to use my raw punch, let's see if it actually works against blocks other than wood. I clenched my right fist and took a wide swing leaning behind my shoulders.
"This better work now or, i'm doomed!"
I punched the land so hard, it bursted out a big hole like a TNT. But, to my suprise there's no item drops. I get no dirt or cobblestone blocks, all it had done is leave an almost irregular 1x5 (1 block wide and 5 blocks deep) missing from where it should be. I felt the impact of the blocks, disintegrating on the force of my fist; i felt the immense surge of energy on my arms and fingers. "WOAH!! this power is a lot harder to use on blocks other than wood and i'm not getting any drops!". I would later feel the after effects of this power, like a burning sensation that would linger on my fist for hours.
"I would be better off mining it in the usual way.."
I began clearing the dirt with my hands, I have to make wooden tools once, i create shelter with a closed roof.. nothing fancy. After some minutes of digging and raw punching the stones out of my way (it hurt my fists a lot than i could've imagined), i'm finally inside a room of dirt and stones with a open view above me inside the mountain. It's almost night time now, and the sun is already half set.
Then, I heard some things. Unpleasent things that no one would want to hear. I heard some walking and omnious sounds. "i'm not even in a cave yet and this already getting creepy, this is absurd!"
I jumped above and clung to the dirt, lifted my way up to seal the roof. and i saw it. our eyes met. A real, walking, black being with purple eyes.. with long slender arms and legs. It's the endermen. It saw me too, and unfortunate for me, it didn't like what it saw.
"You got to be kidding me.."
