Chapter 19 - "Headmaster’s Office"

The Next Day's Beginning

A beautiful girl was walking towards the academy hostel early in the morning. The academy had hostels on both sides of the market — one for boys and one for girls — and neither was allowed to enter the other's hostel, this was the rule. But this girl, without caring about any rules, went straight to a room. On the nameplate above the room, "Falcon Family" was written. Without informing anyone or making a sound, she directly entered inside, where there was a small hall with a sofa, and many small rooms inside, all closed.

It was morning time. Jerry and Maris were sitting on the sofa engaged in some discussion. The girl came in front of them and asked, "Where is he?"

Jerry looked at her properly once; he couldn't believe that a girl could just walk straight into their room without permission. Not even the girls from their own family had done this before.

The girl kept staring at both of them… Seeing her eyes like that, Jerry pointed towards the last room from where the forest behind their hostel could be seen. Then the girl started walking in that direction… Jerry and Maris also followed behind her. The girl reached the door and kicked it hard. The door swung open with a loud thud. Hearing the noise, boys from the nearby rooms also came out to see what was going on.

The girl went inside, where Duke was sleeping on a bed with his feet up… Seeing him sleep so happily made the girl very angry. She shouted angrily, "Get up!"

Her voice was so loud that even boys from other families' rooms came to Falcon House to see what was happening. Hearing the noise, Duke woke up with a jolt and looked around in confusion.

Then his eyes fell on the girl in front of him — stunningly beautiful, but with the aura of the goddess of death in her eyes.

Duke (rubbing his eyes): "What happened to you? … Were you missing me? If this is the situation right after our engagement, then after marriage you won't let me be alone for even a minute, will you?"

Queen felt extremely angry hearing such words, but she controlled her anger and said calmly:

Queen (hiding her anger): "The Headmaster has called you…"

Duke: "Then go… why do you need my permission for that?"

Hearing this, Queen was about to explode with anger when Blake entered, calmed the situation, and said:

Blake: "Queen, go wait in the hall. I'll send Duke."

Queen stomped her foot in anger and went to their small hall, which was full of people from different families, including the Falcon Family. Seeing Queen enter the hall, they quickly left.

Blake: "Freshen up and go with Queen…"

Duke: "Oh come on, Blake brother, who wakes up this early? My sleep isn't even complete yet."

Blake: "Go with her now, you can sleep as much as you want after coming back."

Duke: "Alright, I'm going." (grumbling about Queen for disturbing his sleep)

In the hall, Queen sat on the sofa. She could hear voices from outside the door… like… "Is she Queen?""Did she come to meet her fiancé?""She went straight into his room!""Looks like they're deeply in love…"

These words reached her ears, but Queen didn't care. She just kept looking towards Duke's room. After some time, Duke came out into the hall.

Queen: "Come with me."

Duke: "Alright, wherever you take me."

Queen glanced at him once, thanked Blake, and left with Duke. Everyone in the hostel saw them leaving together — Queen walking ahead, Duke following behind. They had reached outside the hostel and were heading towards the Main Hall. Then they climbed the stairs, entered the Main Hall, and Duke followed her inside.

She went to the receptionist and said:

Queen: "The Headmaster has called me to his office." — and handed her the token.

The receptionist looked at the token — it also had "Headmaster's Personal Student" written on it. Seeing this, the receptionist pressed her hand on the wall behind her, which opened a staircase next to her desk. She said, "Go up from here, the last office."

Queen and Duke went up the stairs, and behind them, the staircase disappeared just like it had appeared. They reached the upper floor where there were about 10–12 offices facing each other, with a corridor in between. At the far end, there was a door with "Headmaster Office" written on it.

Queen and Duke reached the door. Queen paused for a second, then knocked lightly. From inside, a voice said… "Come in."

Queen opened the door and walked inside. Duke did the same. Inside, the Headmaster was standing by the window, looking outside. Beside him, on a sofa, sat a woman around 45 years old — the Voice Headmaster of the academy — who looked at Queen and Duke as they entered.

In the same room, two more people were standing in a corner — Laila and Veronica, both personal students of the Headmaster. Duke, upon entering, glanced around and, seeing Veronica and Laila in the corner, waved at them (as if greeting friends in a garden).

Queen and Laila were a little annoyed, but Veronica, knowing his habits, laughed. At that moment, the Headmaster turned and looked at Duke.

Duke (thinking): "Is he still not satisfied… he's been staring at me since I got here yesterday… What does he want from me?"

Headmaster: "So Duke, how was your journey? No trouble, I hope?"

Duke: "Well, I was a little tired, and I was just getting rid of it when you sent my wife to call me."

Headmaster (smiling): "You have a way with words… So how do you like our academy? You haven't seen the whole thing yet, but whatever you've seen, you liked it, right?"

Duke: "Yes, I liked it… but I don't like people who flatter me… don't know why."

Seeing his plan backfire, the Headmaster quickly said: "Come on, Duke, if someone cares about you or asks about your well-being, that's a good thing, isn't it?"

Duke: "If it's with good intentions, then fine… but if someone has bad intentions… who knows."

Hearing such a conversation, everyone present there was shocked. It was clear to all that the Headmaster was trying to flatter Duke, but Duke was giving him sharp responses. Even Veronica was surprised this time.

Headmaster: "So Duke, when are you going to the Vampire Hall?"

Duke: "Vampire Hall? … No, I'm a vampire but just an ordinary one. I think blacksmith work suits me better. I'll go to the Smith Hall."

Headmaster (smiling in his mind): "How long will you keep hiding your powers… Duke Magus Falcon…"

At that moment, the Voice Headmaster, who had been sitting on the sofa, stood up and, giving respect to the Headmaster, started walking towards the door. As she passed Queen and reached Duke, she softly said:

Voice Headmaster: "How long will you hide your powers? You won't be able to keep this useless title for long."

Saying this, she walked out of the door.
