The following morning, the nurses arrived to check on Emily's condition. They meticulously documented her vital signs and administered medication to help manage her fever. Alice watched anxiously, ensuring her daughter received the best care possible.
After the nurses left, Alice turned to one of the maids who had accompanied them to the hospital. "Can you please watch over the kids for a bit? I want to get some food for them."
The maid nodded eagerly, happy to assist. Alice felt a wave of relief wash over her as she left the ward.
Meanwhile, Diego arrived at the hospital, only to discover Alice was nowhere to be found. He asked the maid, "Where's Alice?"
The maid replied, "She went to get some food for the kids."
Diego scoffed, thinking Alice was careless. "Aren't there maids to bring them food?" he muttered to himself.
When Alice returned with a tray of food, Diego confronted her outside the ward. "What were you thinking, leaving the kids with the maid? What if she wasn't trustworthy? What if they were in danger or kidnapped?"
Alice tried to justify herself, "I was just going to bring breakfast for the kids."
Diego cut her off, his voice firm. "Why are there maids in my house? You could have told the guards, and they would have arranged for food to be brought here."
Alice, exhausted from the argument, chose not to respond. She turned and walked back to the ward, leaving Diego standing alone in the hallway.
Later that day, Alice received a call from her boss, Joe, from Joe's Diner. "Hey, Alice, how's Emily doing? We've been worried sick about her."
Alice reassured him, "She's doing better, thanks for asking."
Joe replied, "That's great to hear. Listen, I need you to come in for your shift today. We're short-staffed, and I really need your help."
Alice hesitated, not wanting to leave her kids. She turned to Diego, "I need to go. Can you please watch the kids?"
Diego nodded curtly, his expression cold and unyielding.
Alice left for Joe's Diner, feeling a sense of unease. She was greeted by her best friend, Brenda, who was relieved to hear that Emily was recovering well.
As Alice started her shift, Brenda assisted her, and they worked together to serve the customers.
Back at the hospital, Diego received a call from his personal assistant, James, reminding him of an important meeting with NovaTech, a deal worth billions of dollars. Diego left the hospital, giving strict instructions to the guards stationed outside the ward.
Before departing, he handed Jackson his iPad, allowing him to play learning games. He pecked Emily's forehead and turned on the TV, switching to the Disney Channel, which was showing Sofia the First.
"Kid, if you need anything, you know where to call me, right?" Diego asked, looking at Jackson.
Jackson nodded, his eyes serious. "Daddy, go. I'll protect sister from the illness monster."
Diego's heart swelled with pride. He pecked both kids and left the hospital, feeling confident that his children were safe and in good hands.
Diego arrived at the Montago's Imperium Global headquarters, a towering skyscraper that dominated the city's skyline. He stepped out of his sleek, black limousine and onto the polished marble floor of the lobby.
His personal assistant, James, greeted him with a crisp nod. "Good morning, sir. The NovaTech team is waiting for you in the conference room."
Diego nodded, his expression cold and calculating. He strode into the conference room, where the NovaTech team, led by their CEO, Rachel Lee, was already seated.
Rachel, a poised and confident woman in her late 40s, smiled warmly at Diego. "Good morning, Diego. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."
Diego's response was curt. "Let's get down to business, shall we?"
The meeting began, with Rachel presenting NovaTech's proposal for a strategic partnership with Montago's Imperium Global. Diego listened intently, his eyes narrowing as he scrutinized every detail.
His team, comprising of experts from various fields, asked pointed questions, poking holes in NovaTech's plan. Rachel and her team responded confidently, addressing each concern with well-rehearsed answers.
After what seemed like an eternity, Diego leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. "I'm impressed," he said finally. "Your proposal is solid, and I believe our companies can mutually benefit from this partnership."
Rachel beamed, relief written across her face. "Thank you, Diego. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Montago's Imperium Global."
The two teams spent the next hour ironing out the details, negotiating the terms of the partnership. Finally, they signed the agreement, sealing the deal.
As the NovaTech team packed up their belongings and bid Diego farewell, another company, Eclipse Innovations, was waiting in the wings. Their CEO, a young and ambitious man named Ethan, was eager to present his proposal.
Diego's demeanor changed dramatically as he listened to Ethan's pitch. His expression turned skeptical, his eyes scanning the proposal with disdain.
Ethan's company was new, and it showed. The proposal was riddled with holes, the financial projections unrealistic. Diego's team tore the proposal apart, pointing out the flaws.
Diego's verdict was swift and merciless. "I'm afraid we can't consider a partnership with your company at this time."
Ethan looked crestfallen, but Diego continued, his tone firm but not unkind. "Before you think of collaborating with any company, you need to get your own house in order. Check your finances, streamline your operations, and then come back to us."
Ethan nodded, gratitude written across his face. "Thank you, Diego. We appreciate your honesty."
As the Eclipse Innovations team left, Diego turned to his own team and sneered. "Fools who don't know how business runs foolishly run companies. They think they can just waltz in here and expect me to partner with them? Please."
His team nodded in agreement, their expressions mirroring Diego's disdain then stood up and left for his office
After having those meetings, one of his employee Kelvin, the head of the Graphic Design department, stood confidently in front of Diego's desk, a sleek and modern presentation laid out before him.
"Good afternoon, sir," Kelvin began. "I'm here to present our latest project, a comprehensive rebranding initiative for one of our major clients."
Diego leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he listened intently. Kelvin launched into a detailed explanation of the project, highlighting the key objectives, target audience, and proposed design concepts.
As Kelvin spoke, Diego's eyes narrowed, scrutinizing every aspect of the presentation. He asked pointed questions, probing for weaknesses and areas for improvement.
Kelvin and his team had clearly done their homework, anticipating Diego's concerns and addressing them with well-reasoned arguments. Diego was impressed, his expression softening ever so slightly.
After Kelvin finished his presentation, Diego leaned forward, his eyes locking onto Kelvin's. "I like what I see," Diego said, his voice firm but measured. "But I want to see more. Can you revise the design concepts to incorporate more bold, innovative elements?"
Kelvin nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Absolutely, sir. We'll get right on it."
Diego nodded, his expression unreadable once more. "Good. I expect to see the revised concepts on my desk within the week."
With that, the meeting concluded, Kelvin and his team dismissed to refine their project. Diego watched them leave, his mind already turning to the next challenge, the next opportunity to push his company to new heights.
