After a while of silence, Karma sat on the edge of the couch in the quiet office, one leg crossed over the other, staring at Anas, who was finishing a short phone call. He hung up the phone and placed it on the table, then walked toward her slowly, his eyes gleaming with a spark that combined enthusiasm and cunning.
He smiled calmly and said: "I was thinking… It's time to execute the plan."
She tilted her head with interest, her eyes following his every move: "Finally? I'm tired of waiting."
He sat in front of her, took a deep breath before speaking in a low voice, as if afraid his words might leak beyond the walls: "The preparations are complete… and only one small step remains, after which everything will go exactly as we want."
She raised an eyebrow and leaned her body forward: "A small step? Or a dangerous one?"
He chuckled lightly as he replied: "Both… but the most important thing is that the victim will never see the blow coming."
A shiver ran down her spine at the way he spoke, but her features remained steady as she said: "And when do we start?"
He answered, staring into the distance as if visualizing the scene in his mind: "Soon… very soon. All you need to do is stay calm and wait for the right moment to see the result."
Karma smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement: "You know I'm always ready."
Anas stood up, adjusting the collar of his shirt, then said in a decisive tone: "Then… that's it. The game has begun."
At the university, specifically in Tala's department, Tala was seated at her desk in one of the lecture halls, surrounded by the usual noise. Despite the traces of fatigue that hadn't fully disappeared, her small smile gave the impression that she was starting to recover.
Her friend Sara turned to her and said: "Finally, you're back! I thought you were going to disappear forever."
Tala laughed lightly: "But I needed some rest, the headache was unbearable."
Sara teased: "It's definitely not just the headache… there's something else behind it."
Tala shook her head, raising her eyebrows: "It's a secret, I'm not telling you now."
They both laughed and chatted about the upcoming lectures, but inside Tala, that message kept replaying in her mind and wouldn't go away.
At Al-Rayan Company headquarters, Reema walked steadily, holding the appointment book. She stopped at Rayan's office and knocked gently: "Mr. Rayan, the SkyBuild clients have arrived."
Rayan looked up from the papers in front of him, while Yazan was sitting in the opposite chair reviewing some points with him.
Reema said, glancing quickly at Yazan: "The meeting is scheduled to start in ten minutes. I just wanted to confirm your schedule."
Rayan nodded, then turned to Yazan: "Focus on the points we agreed on, and the most important thing is not to rush to answer any question."
Yazan tried to hide his nervousness but replied with a faint smile: "Alright, I'll do that."
Reema left, observing the scene closely, not missing any signal between the two.
Yazan left the office, heading to the meeting room, and at the corner of the hallway, he caught sight of Rahaf coming from the reception area. He didn't notice until he lightly bumped into her, and she almost lost her balance before he quickly caught her arm.
She said in surprise: "What's wrong? What's with you? You seem so tense."
He smiled nervously: "It's my first official meeting… I'm afraid I'll mess something up."
She placed her hand on his shoulder with confidence: "You're talented, everyone will see impressive results after this meeting. Just stay calm."
He finally smiled, as if her words had lifted some weight off his heart.
In the meeting room, Yazan sat at the long table with the company team. On the other side sat the representatives of SkyBuild Company, well-dressed men with sharp looks. The meeting began calmly, with questions revolving around future projects and cooperation plans.
One of the clients handed over a small file, saying: "These are some documents regarding the deal, we'd like you to look over them."
Yazan took it and placed it in front of him without opening it, busy keeping up with the rest of the conversation. The meeting seemed ordinary, and Yazan was doing his best.
He didn't notice that the file wasn't the usual kind he expected, and that what was inside might carry a disastrous future for him.
By the end of the meeting, Yazan stood up feeling relatively relieved, unaware that evil had begun to creep silently into his life.
