Chapter 10 - #10

The days passed by peacefully without much complications or any improvement in the mentality of the girl, there was hardly any change.

Only changes in her emotional state was ever observed was when they passed by that garden , where she would take her time gazing at those roses.

As Miss Brooke had observed in all those visits. The young girl's gaze changing from indifference to curiousityand then from curiosity to appreciation.

The girl herself didn't realise the small changes and shifts in her gaze when she observed the 'roses guy' .

At first she felt intrigued by the hopelessness, the 'commonality' between herself and that boy. But that boy giving off a sense of mystery and fragility, as if he has already given up on life.

His pale skin, dark coloured eyes and the beauty mark under his left eye shining under the sunlight. His pale lips pursed in a straight line as he stared blankly at the 'black roses' as if lost in contemplation. The boy looked very pretty but he gave off such heavy gloomy and dreasful feeling that it made the girl feel pity.

' it's such a pity...' she thought indifferently. Then came the curiosity. On her second visit after her hospital discharge she became slightly curious. ' why is he here again? ' she thought with slight curiosity. Every time she visited this place, this pretty boy would be there, looking blankly at thise roses. Thinking about God knows what.

By her fourth routine visit, she finally got rid of her wheel chair. After her session with Miss Brooke and getting her usual mental health evaluation report , it was time for her to leave. Miss Brooke , as always insisted on accompanying her on their little 'walk' as she liked to call it.

The girl, noticed the boy again, at the same place. She had now started to admire this 'melancholic beauty' as she decided to call him. Every one loves beauty and as shallow as it may sound, she also loved and enjoyed appreciating beauty.

Miss Brooke also loved to observe and appreciate. This was a major reason that she choose to be a psychiatrist. She got to observe behavioral patterns, rich mental activities and body language, emotional shifts and many more in this profession. Always observing and always learning something new. Right now the 'object' of her 'appriciation' , Avery, gave her rhe opportunity to observe the slight emotional shift . Miss Brooke felt that it was good to have a positive shift rather than a negative one. She thought that roses must have some significant meaning for the girl otherwise how could just looking at that patch of roses could bring about such subtle change in this girl's emotional state, bringing her back from her hopeless feelings regarding life.it was slow and small but it was still an improvement. 'Though I would live to know what cased tha curiosity....' she thought as she happily tapped away on the key board of her phone, recording her new observation in a note named 'Avery Joyce '

" Okay Avery, as usual I'll see you off now, I wish you a speedy recovery." She said in a steady and soft voice as she flashed the girl a smile. Avery nodded to her still feeling a smal hint of pity.

' It's such a pity...' she thought again but this time what she felt was not the indifference like the first time, rather she really felt it was a pity for such a pretty person to be so melancholic.

On her fifth visit, Avery finally couldn't be take it anymore. She really wanted to go talk to this person...why? Why was this person being so annoying? .... what was making him sit there with such a gloomy vibe? Even if you wish to feel so sad why not go somewhere else?

Avery swore she has never been a nosy oerson, she and her introverted self would rather become antisocial and ignore everything if possible but something about this pretty boy made her feel uneasy....ahe felt that she should for the very first time go ahead and be nosy. Grab that boy by his shoulder and shake him violently till he.... I don't know snaps out of it? ' God...why is it so irking?' she thought.

She groaned in frustration as she impulsively walked in the direction of the roses. She approached the pretty boy who seemed to be lost very deeply in his own world. "Hey.." she said as she got closer to where he sat.

Miss Brooke who was walking with Avery was startled when she saw the sudden big emotional shift in the girl. Her eyes showed a complex mix of frustration, annoyance and sadness making her eyes appear slightly dark as she fixed her eyes on her favourite rose patch. Miss Brooke couldn't figure out what caused this sudden bad mood. ' but she was fine just now...no mood swings were observed in today's councelling session ' she thought as she made her observations. Before she could reach anu conclusion or ask what was wrong the girl groaned in a low tone "ugh", as if she made up her mind about something before she stated walking. " Avery?" She called after the girl as the walked in the direction of the patch of white roses . Getting no response from the girl, it was obvious that the girl was not listening to her so she sighed and decided to go after the girl . As she got closer she noticed something weird. Avery stopped just near the roses, she bent her waist slightly to lower her upper body as if she was looking at something?

"Hey .." she heard the girl's voice. She sounded a little nervous.

'She seemes like she's talking to... A rose?' Miss Brooke thought as she heard Avery talking to air while looking at one of the roses . ' What's going on...?' she thought, as she made sure that she was seeing that right.

".... I should talk to Mrs Joyce...." She mumbled softly under her breath and continued to observe her.
