Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Testing Martial Soul’s Abilities

After briefly experimenting with the abilities of the Plant Goddess, Yunchuan deactivated his Martial Soul Possession. Instantly, his hair and eyes returned to their normal jet-black color.

"Next up," he remarked, "is the ability of my Thunderous, Earth-Shattering, Flashing, Blazing Supreme Clear Sky Hammer." Yunchuan curled his right hand, ready to summon his Martial Soul—but suddenly paused. He recalled the moment of his Martial Soul awakening: that little golden hammer had slipped from his grasp, crashing to the ground and shaking the entire Martial Soul City.

'Yeah, maybe it's best not to summon that thing recklessly,' he thought, relaxing his grip. 'Even if I call it out now, I probably wouldn't be able to wield it.'

Though he didn't summon the Supreme Clear Sky Hammer, Yunchuan had noticed something fascinating ever since it awakened. Since the Martial Soul was a part of him, even without fully manifesting it, he could still tap into some of its innate powers—though not their full strength.

The Supreme Clear Sky Hammer itself possessed four elemental attributes: strength, lightning, light, and flame.

This was obvious from the weapon's ridiculously grand name—Thunderous, Earth-Shattering, Flashing, Blazing, Supreme Clear Sky Hammer.

Thunderous, Earth-Shattering: Pure, brute force.

Lightning: As expected, the power of thunder and lightning.

Flashing: The brilliance of light.

Blazing: The searing heat of fire.

With these four attributes, if developed properly, Yunchuan believed he could create powerful techniques. After all, soul skills could be self-created; absorbing a soul ring just granted a preset ability, but true geniuses could invent their own moves—which were known as self-created soul skills.

Technical skills like those Tang San learned from Tang Sect in his previous life—the Mysterious Jade Hands, Purple Demon Eye, and more—could all be considered self-created soul skills.

Lost in thought, Yunchuan stretched out his hand. With a soft whoosh, brilliant scarlet flames danced in his palm, spreading a gentle warmth. He could feel his soul power slowly draining, evidence that conjuring the fire wasn't something from nothing—it required real energy.

At his will, he stopped supplying soul power. The flames sputtered out with a puff and were replaced by a faint glow that soon gathered into a ball of pure white light. It radiated no heat, unlike the flames—just pure brilliance.

'So, this is the light attribute. Aside from illumination, does it have any other use? Maybe it could purify darkness or be developed into attacks of sheer speed—imagine a light-speed punch.'

He grinned to himself. 'Wouldn't it be cool to tell people, "Speed is power. Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"'

Cutting off his soul power, he watched the ball of light vanish. In its place, a cobalt blue aura flickered, crackling like firecrackers. Fingers wrapped in tiny arcs of electricity, he condensed them into a flashing blue orb—a ball of lightning dancing in his palm.

"This lightning attribute really packs a punch," he commented, satisfied. Releasing his hold, the lightning gradually dispersed.

What remained was the last, most basic yet fundamental attribute of the hammer—strength.

When he activated the hammer's strength, a tremendous power surged through his entire body. He felt his physical constitution leap: defense, agility, strength—every stat was dramatically enhanced. However, as soon as he stopped channeling soul power, all of that strength disappeared, dropping him back to normal.

'Is the strength attribute really just a simple power boost?' Yunchuan mused. 'I feel like there's more to it—but maybe I just haven't discovered its full potential yet.'

Across the Star Dou Great Forest…

This was where Soul Masters hunted soul beasts; thousand- and ten-thousand-year creatures roamed freely, and some even older, hiding deep within the wilds, far from human eyes.

At this moment, Bibi Dong led the group, with Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo flanking her. Three Titled Douluo—an extravagant escort—had brought Yunchuan here to obtain his first soul ring. Because he possessed innate rank fifty soul power, Bibi Dong insisted on skipping straight to a ten-thousand-year soul ring, and so they planned to hunt five of them. Better safe than sorry.

No sooner had they entered the forest than Yunchuan felt the Plant Goddess Martial Soul inside him leap with excitement. This was a real, untouched forest, trees towering in all directions, carpeted with vegetation—a true paradise for plants.

Even without entering full Plant Goddess Possession state, he could instantly cast his plant domain, communicating with the endless sea of greenery and drawing strength from every blade of grass.

Suddenly, Yunchuan stopped and closed his eyes.

"Chuan'er, what's wrong?" Bibi Dong bent down slightly, her voice gentle with concern.

Beside her, Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo instinctively stood on guard, watching for threats. Although they'd only just entered the outermost area, caution never hurt.

Yunchuan didn't answer. With his eyes shut, an invisible field suddenly surged out from him.

Ordinary people couldn't sense it, but the three Titled Douluo recognized it instantly and exclaimed, "A domain!"

Within Yunchuan's domain, every plant seemed to come alive—leaves trembling, as if cheering and worshipping.

At that moment, the three Douluo could feel the entire forest awaken, brimming with pure vitality and spirituality. Yunchuan was completely immersed, feeling as if he'd become one with the forest. Within a three-hundred-meter radius, every tree, every blade of grass felt like an extension of himself, at his beck and call.

Any plant within his domain's reach could be twisted into terrifying monsters. He could conjure strangling vines, mutate healing herbs into deadly poisons, or even create entirely new kinds of plants.

Plants were, after all, alive. Though they normally couldn't move, under Yunchuan's command, they gained mobility, transforming into fearsome beasts at his will—the forest itself could become a monstrous, living battleground.
