Chapter 21 - Even More Upgrades

A few hours later, Gray was lying on his bed, making plans for the wall now that he had some more knowledge. I will need masonry knowledge now that I know I will need reinforced concrete, but first, I would need to reinforce myself; I could get sniped while working out there.

{Ban's Immortality (Seven Deadly Sins)} (30B Gold)

{Thunder-Thunder Fruit} (2B Gold)

{Superman's Assimilation} (110B Gold)

{Kryptonian Bloodline} (100B Gold)

{Saiyan Bloodline} (80B Gold)

Okay, maybe I need to tone it down a bit, but holy hell, those prices are huge, even Rebirth is only a billion!

{Bullet Resistant Skin} (50M Gold)

What about other options, maybe a way to avoid getting shot in the first place?

[Observation Haki]

{Basic (sense presence & intent)} (500,000 Gold)

{Intermediate (predict movement, sense through walls)} (2M Gold)

{Advanced (future sight)} (25M Gold)

I'll buy the basic one, and after I get the next upgrade, I will buy the intermediate.

After buying Basic Observation Haki, he could feel the three inmates on the next Earthroamer already sleeping, "Oh yeah, this is better." Finally closing his eyes, sleep took him soon enough.

Gray woke up when he sensed someone approaching. It was Beth, getting out of bed. He opened the door before she could knock, "Oh, I was about to wake you," she said with a radiant smile. She needs to be protected from this filthy world. "Thank you for coming to get me, don't bother with these guys, let them sleep a bit more," Gray added before making his way inside with Beth right beside him.

Once inside, Gray started taking out a bunch of necessities and things for personal hygiene, especially for the women. Taking notice of Lori, who looked almost ready to pop, he started looking for something in his shop.

{Knowledge Transfer} (10x Value Of Transferred Skill) Warning: Only available once a day.

Walking over to Rick, he said, "Listen, I just found out I can transfer some of my knowledge to people, and I was thinking of giving at least 2 people my medical knowledge, just in case I'm not around, they should be able to take care of everything." Looking over at Lori, Rick whispered, "Is it safe?"

"It has never done damage to me, but at most, they could get a headache since it is a lot of information," Gray said, already looking around for any potential doctors.

"I'll do it," Hershel said, stepping up, "I already have some medical experience; besides, if something wrong were to happen, it's better if it's me." "Daddy, please don't say that!" Maggie looked terrified at the thought.

"I promise nothing will happen to him, I've gone through this multiple times already, and as you can see, I'm as healthy as healthy can get." Gray started walking to one of the cells with everyone behind him, "Please lie down, we don't know how you might react." Once Hershel lay down, Gray grabbed his head and brought the knowledge transfer.

Hershel started grunting, and people started getting nervous, but after 5 minutes, it was done. Hershel sat up, and his eyes widened. "It feels as if I've been a doctor all my life! I can think of a few procedures for a safe delivery, this is amazing" Hershel said with awe in his voice.

"Great, looks like it worked, I'll count on you from now on then," Gray said, getting up and walking to the newly cleaned infirmary. Time to stock everything we would ever need. After stocking up the infirmary with everything for the flu, coughs, infections, cuts, preservatives, and more, he finally walked out.

"Listen, I don't know how to thank you enough, I-" Rick got cut off. "Don't, I'm doing this because...I'm not staying for long." "You're leaving?" Rick looked shocked to the core, "Oh no! Don't misunderstand, I'm staying for a couple of years before I leave for something more exotic. I told you I'm making this place a fortress, and I will not leave before I make that happen, so don't worry, just a sort of precaution in case I'm away or indisposed."

"Still, thank you for everything." Rick said, looking a bit more relaxed, "Yeah, no worries, man, also if anything were to happen, don't hesitate to call for me." With that out of the way, Gray walked out and called for T-Dog, "Hey, man, can you do me a favor and go fetch the inmates? We are getting ready to have breakfast." Nodding, he started heading outside.

Finally sitting down, he glanced at his HUD.

Finally closing the shop, Gray was waiting patiently for the food to be ready. Once everyone was seen eating and trying to make some small talk, he started talking to the convicts, "How are you guys feeling, sore, tired?" "Damn, man, I'm tired and sore as hell, but it's honest work and it's keeping food and a roof over my head, I couldn't ask for more," said Axel while taking a spoonful of food to his mouth.

Big Tiny just said he was alright, and Oscar just said he was tired of doing the same thing two days in a row. Gray told him that if he wanted, he could help out inside the prison; a lot of places still needed cleaning. "Nah, I'm good with digging. I like being outside. I'm tired of seeing these walls."

Gray, looking around, finally noticed that the floor could get an upgrade, maybe some actual tile, but that could wait for after the wall, water, and electricity problems. Finally done with eating, he stepped out with tools in hand.

Let's test the new enhancements. Swinging the pickaxe with all his strength, he noticed that the ground felt like pudding. "Oh yeah, we are finishing this trench today." Once everyone else joined, he had Oscar follow him with a shovel, and he would use the pickaxe, getting the dirt loose, and Oscar would scoop it out behind him. With the new working system, they got to work.

After hours, a trench 5 feet deep, 1 and a half wide was dug. "So what's next? This was to stop those walkers from getting close to the fence?" Oscar said in between breaths, trying to keep up with Gray, "No, we are pouring a 2-foot slab of reinforced concrete, but that's for tomorrow, good job keeping up." "I swear you're not human, you're not even out of breath," Oscar said, finally being able to take a break. I'm throwing away my humanity, Saiyan Bloodline, wait for me.
