King's voice broke completely, the tears now flowing unchecked. "Tell me, Win. Do you have feelings for me? Tell me, Win. Do you love me?"
Win stared at King for a long moment, the silence stretching taut between them. His earlier flicker of regret was ruthlessly extinguished, replaced by a cold, practiced deflection. He couldn't, or wouldn't, acknowledge the weight of King's pain or the truth of his own complex emotions.
"You know, King," Win finally said, his voice flat, devoid of the earlier warmth, "you don't have to be so dramatic just because I just had sex with you. Stop acting like I did something wrong. It's not like you didn't enjoy it. It was just your first time, and you felt a little pain. With time, you'll adjust, and you'll start enjoying it. Okay?"
King looked at him, his face devoid of expression, and gave a small, defeated nod. "Okay."
He tried to stand, a sharp wince twisting his features, but he pushed through it. He grabbed a pillow and a thin blanket.
