Jason didn't tell Grace who he had called.
After the phone call, the two continued soaking in the hot springs, followed by a massage, and then a sauna session.
The saunas were separated by gender. Grace headed to the women's side, while Jason settled into the men's room. After a few minutes of steaming, the door opened and a middle-aged man came in hurriedly, already sweating despite changing into swimwear just to keep up appearances. A few assistants trailed behind him.
Jason glanced at him with mild concern. "Mr. Lewis, maybe you should wait outside—you look like you're about to pass out from the heat."
"No, no, I'm fine," Lewis panted, shaking his head quickly. "Mr. Jason, let me give you a quick rundown of New Vision Media's situation…"
Lewis was desperate for investment, so he dove right into his pitch.
Of course, Jason hadn't called him randomly. After placing the call earlier, he'd immediately reached out to Star Power Law Firm, asking her to do a background check on New Vision Media and provide an asset appraisal. Jason had been impressed by their last cooperation, and he wanted there team handling this deal too.
So while he listened to Lewis, Jason already had a baseline understanding of the company's numbers. He didn't interrupt, simply watching to see if Lewis would be upfront—or try to gloss things over.
To Jason's mild surprise, Lewis didn't sugarcoat anything. He admitted everything, even the company's most recent setbacks.
New Vision Media had been growing well until two major issues hit.
First, they'd spent a fortune signing a top male streamer. Then, not long after, the guy's career collapsed in scandal. He fled overseas, never paying the breach penalty. The company was left with a gaping hole on its books.
Second, at the same time, the company had expanded aggressively—signing dozens of new streamers, opening more content houses, and pouring money into promotion campaigns.
If the first problem hadn't happened, the expansion would have been manageable. But with that sudden loss? The company was now on the brink.
Jason leaned back against the bench. "So if that streamer's penalty never comes in, it's just a bad debt, right?"
Lewis grimaced. "Exactly. It's dead weight on the balance sheet. I was hoping to… maybe cut that part off, restructure around it."
Jason shook his head. "A company doesn't work like a broken limb you can just cut off. That kind of accounting trick leads to lawsuits and wasted energy."
He paused, then offered calmly, "Here's what I'll do: I'll eat half of that bad debt myself. In exchange, I take majority."
Lewis froze, then his eyes widened as the meaning hit him. Jason was willing to invest—but only if he became the primary shareholder.
For a moment, Lewis struggled. He had built New Vision Media from scratch into a company worth around $30 million, with a dozen content houses and hundreds of signed streamers. Handing over majority control felt like giving away his life's work.
But the brutal truth was… without capital, the company would collapse. And Jason clearly wasn't just rich—he had backing, confidence, and the kind of connections that gave competitors nightmares.
Would a young man like him really want to manage day-to-day operations? Unlikely. It would mostly be symbolic control, while Lewis still ran things. In the end, he'd still have his company—just with deeper pockets and more security.
Finally, Lewis nodded slowly. "Mr. Jason, I'm willing to consider it. But we'd need to negotiate the exact valuation and terms—"
Jason cut him off smoothly. "My lawyer and the appraisers are on their way. We'll finalize it properly."
Soon after, they arrived with there team. They all moved from the sauna to Jason's villa.
When Grace saw the sprawling, her jaw nearly hit the floor. Listening to Jason discuss taking majority ownership of a media company worth tens of millions left her even more stunned. She had assumed Jason just meant he'd "invest a little" to help her—but this? He was about to become the boss of an entire media group.
The negotiations were wrapped up quickly. Accounting for the bad debt, Jason invested $15 million for 51% of the company. his lawers had added airtight clauses into the contract, ensuring Jason's stake couldn't be diluted later by clever shareholder games.
Jason wouldn't have full supermajority control, but with 51% he was the undeniable lead shareholder. Lewis remained as a partner and operator, but Jason now had the final say.
Grace trembled a little as she whispered, "Jason… isn't this investment too big?"
Jason smiled faintly. He couldn't exactly tell her this was just a side move toward bigger goals, with her career uplifted along the way. Instead, he said lightly, "It's not too big. I'm the boss now—it'll be even easier to make you a popular streamer. Doesn't that make you happy?"
Lewis, ever the opportunist, chimed in quickly, "Absolutely. With your looks and figure, Grace, we can make you a star in no time."
Her appearance and especially her body gave her obvious potential. And even if she hadn't, flattering Jason's woman was always the smart move.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Grace threw her arms around Jason, kissing him hard. on the lips.
[Grace: Favorability +35 → Favorability now 82]
Jason blinked. It was the first time anyone had pushed past 80—and the first time the system itself chimed in about an "updated status bar."
He opened the panel:
Name: Grace
Age: 22
Appearance: 8.1/10
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 121 lbs
Favorability: 35 → 82
History Count: 102
Health: No STDs
Jason raised an eyebrow. History count?
He tapped on it. A detailed timeline popped up, listing every encounter she'd ever had—down to ages, dates, and partners. Just two boyfriends in total.
And it could even screen for diseases?
Jason couldn't help but murmur under his breath, "This system might be shameless… but damn, it's powerful."
