Chapter 11 - Elyasia

Chapter 11 — Elyasia

Elyasia isn't just a country—it's a dream sculpted into reality.

Nestled between glistening rivers and sky-piercing peaks,

it's where the whispers of ancient magic meet the hum of futuristic innovation.

Towering spires of white stone, etched with glowing rune-lines, stretch skyward beside crystalline skyscrapers powered by mana-tech.

Cobblestone alleys curve between lev-trams and floating lanterns that drift like fireflies, illuminating the streets even under the silver hush of moonlight.

Every corner of Elyasia feels like a story waiting to unfold—a seamless fusion of past and future.

Grand libraries carved into ancient trees stand next to floating data orbs in magic academies.

The scent of mana-infused bread mingles with the tang of cold iron from blacksmiths forging weapons blessed with both steel and spell.

Despite its wonders, Elyasia is famed for something rarer than magic—peace.

Refugees, orphans, and exiles all speak of it as the last sanctuary

. A place to begin again.

But like any place that feels too perfect, there's a hidden side.

In Elyasia, power matters. More than law. More than justice.

The strong—especially high-ranking mages, guild leaders, and their families—live like royalty.

They enjoy the best homes, the finest healing, and protection others can only dream of.

When they break the law or harm someone weaker, the outcome is often the same: nothing happens.

The small guild captains and nobles always win.

Ordinary civilians—those without titles or power—live quiet lives. They follow the rules.

They avoid trouble.

Even when something feels unjust, they look the other way. It's not cruelty. It's control. Everyone knows the system's tilted—and most pretend not to see it.

Still, for many, Elyasia is the best chance they have. Safer than most. Kinder, in its own way. And if you keep your head down… maybe you can live in peace.

Or maybe—just maybe—you can change something from the inside.

The lev-tram came to a gentle halt with a hum as the gates of Elyasia opened before them.

Shinra's eyes widened, his breath caught in his throat. He pressed against the window, taking in the scene.

"Whoa…"

The capital shimmered before them.

Towers of white and silver gleamed beneath a pastel sky.

Enchanted trees lined the roadways, singing softly as mana pulsed through their roots.

Vendors sold glowing fruit and dresses,

ornaments and children's running after one another.

"Is this really where we'll live now?" Shinra asked, awestruck.

Captain Ryken offered a faint smile.

"Welcome to Elyasia—the land where dreams come true. Or so they say."

He led the villagers under a marble arch into the local branch of the Celestial Aegis Guild.

Inside, rays of sunlight streamed through stained-glass windows, casting rainbows across the stone floor.

The guild emblem—a celestial wing wrapped around a burning star—hung high behind the reception.

Under Ryken's command, the villagers were guided into orderly lines.

Crystal quills floated mid-air, recording their details as they were registered for housing, given ration tokens, and introduced to liaisons to help them find work.

Shinra stayed close to Samy, still overwhelmed.

Then, a calm voice spoke behind them.

"Captain Ryken. I'll handle their registration from here."

It was Alex.

He stood in casual dress—a fitted charcoal-gray shirt with faint silver runes on the cuffs, a black vest embroidered with a subtle celestial wing motif, slim black trousers tucked into leather boots, and a thin book pouch on his belt.

A single silver ring glinted on his right hand.

Without waiting, Alex gestured.

"Come with me."

He led Samy and Shinra upstairs to a private chamber—a quiet room with two soft couches and a polished tea table between them.

"Sit. Water?" Alex offered.

Shinra, too busy admiring the room, nodded absentmindedly. Samy shook his head.

"No, we're good."

In his mind,

Samy muttered, Why aren't we just registering like everyone else? Why is he so involved?

Alex called in an officer carrying paperwork.

"Let's start.

Shinra, what are your plans? Will you attend the academy and train, or is there something else?"

Shinra sat up, eager.

"I want to study!

I want to grow strong and help people. I'll go to the academy."

Alex nodded approvingly.

"Good. I'll fill out your admission.

Captain Ryken and Samy will be listed as your guardians.

Today is Monday, so on Wednesday, Samy—you'll take him to the Guild Academy Center.

They'll provide orientation."

Then his gaze turned to Samy.

"Now, about you. You should join the guild. Even as a civilian officer or receptionist. It comes with security and benefits."

Samy shook his head. "I appreciate it… but I'd rather be a baker."

"A baker?"

Alex raised an eyebrow, lips twitching slightly.

"Well… opening one won't be easy. The guild doesn't just hand out funds.

You'll need to work in an approved bakery for three months. If you prove yourself, they'll support your own shop."

"I understand. I'm ready for that. Thank you," Samy replied calmly.

Alex studied him for a moment before nodding.

"Very well. I'll register you both as civilians, under Captain Ryken's guild connection.

That alone will give you some protections."

He stood, voice steady.

"Welcome to Elyasia. And good luck."

When they returned downstairs, Ryken was waiting.

"There you are.

We've secured a nice apartment—sea-facing view."

Shinra gasped.

"Really?! We're living by the sea? Yes!

Wait… what's an apartment? Is it like a bungalow?"

Ryken laughed.

"Not exactly.

One hall, a bedroom, kitchen, and bath. Come see for yourself."

Shinra pumped a fist in the air. "Let's goooo!"

Samy chuckled tiredly. "Let's just get some rest. It's been a long day… thanks to someone."

"Hey!" Shinra said. "If it wasn't for Captain, we wouldn't even be alive!"

"True," Samy muttered. "Alright, forward, hero."

He leaned in to Ryken.

"He's… surprisingly cheerful for a kid who lost his parents."

Ryken nodded. "That's a good thing. Let's keep him that way."

The three stood in front of a towering 20-floor building near the coast, the sea wind brushing past them. Shinra gasped again.

"Are we really living here? Which floor is ours?!"

He bolted toward the elevator before Ryken could answer.

Ryken smiled. "Tenth floor. Let's go."

Samy followed, glancing at the setting sun over the sea.

For now, at least, they had a place to call home.

But deep down, he knew—Elyasia was not the beginning.
