Chapter 3 - 3. Yuhi Kurenai's Request (1)

"Kitazawa, it's been a while."

Yuhi Kurenai, her slender, beautiful legs wrapped in white bandages, stepped forward to face Kitazawa.

"Not really. We saw each other just last week."

Kitazawa's gaze fell on the bandages on her hands.

In his previous life, he had always wondered why Yuhi Kurenai wore bandages on her thighs and hands.

"Kitazawa, I need your help," Yuhi Kurenai said with a faint smile on her fair face.

Kitazawa was somewhat surprised.

Although Yuhi Kurenai and he were both Chūnin, there was a clear gap between them.

She possessed a family-inherited Ninjutsu.

Her father was Yuhi Shinku, one of Konoha's rare Genjutsu-specialized Jōnin.

If Yuhi Kurenai was at the peak of Chūnin, half a step away from Jōnin, then Kitazawa was merely at the lower end of the Chūnin rank.

"I recently took on a tutoring job," Yuhi Kurenai said, her voice tinged with frustration.

"But my student is extremely disobedient, so I wanted to ask for your advice."

Kitazawa pondered this.

In the original story, Yuhi Kurenai was the team leader for Hyūga Hinata, Aburame Shino, and Inuzuka Kiba.

However, she also had another student named Kurama Yakumo.

Yakumo possessed a unique Genjutsu Kekkei Genkai that allowed her to turn illusions into reality.

Genjutsu, being a Yin Release technique, caused frequent problems with Yakumo's body due to the excessive power of her Yin Release.

For her safety, her parents forbade her from attending the Ninja Academy and instead hired Yuhi Kurenai as a private tutor.

Yet Yakumo remained stubbornly determined to become a ninja.

After repeated rejections, a Yin Release monster named Ido was born within her heart.

Overwhelmed by its power, she lost control and killed her parents.

The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, sensing the danger Kurama Yakumo posed, ordered Yuhi Kurenai to eradicate the monster within her.

"You've been consistently ranked as the Ninja Academy's top teacher for three years running," Yuhi Kurenai said, clapping her hands together and bowing slightly.

"Please, old classmate!"

Kitazawa was about to reply when a blue holographic screen materialized before his eyes.

[Current Mission: Help classmate Kurama Yakumo return to the Ninja Academy.

Mission Reward: Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death.

Accept?]

Kitazawa raised an eyebrow. This triggers a mission? Still, extra missions never hurt. He accepted.

"No problem," Kitazawa agreed. "I'm quite confident in my teaching abilities."

"Thank you. With your help, I feel much more at ease," Yuhi Kurenai said, patting her chest.

"Come find me after school tomorrow."

Kitazawa pondered for a moment before saying, "I'll share some of my teaching experience with you when the time comes."

"Mm-hmm," Yuhi Kurenai nodded, her face lighting up with a cheerful smile. "I'll treat you to drinks tomorrow night."

"Sounds good," Kitazawa replied without hesitation. "We're not going home until we're drunk."

"You've never been able to outdrink me since we were kids," Yuhi Kurenai said smugly. "I'll probably end up carrying you home again."

"The past is the past," Kitazawa retorted stubbornly. "The present is the present."

"Then I look forward to seeing how you do," Yuhi Kurenai said, playfully punching his shoulder.

"See you tomorrow."

Kitazawa watched her walk away, shaking his head.

He and Yuhi Kurenai were childhood friends, having been in the same class since they were six years old.

They had known each other for fifteen years.

Besides her, his classmates included Hatake Kakashi, Sarutobi Asuma, Uchiha Obito, and Nohara Rin.

But most of the people he knew had died in the Third Shinobi World War, their graves now overgrown with grass three meters tall.

The reason Kitazawa alive was without a doubt because he is transmigator.
