Chapter 4 - The Princess

As if carried by some unseen force, my legs moved on their own volition, bringing me to the forefront of the royal procession, even as danger loomed overhead, with guards surrounding me, their weapons poised at my throat. And there she was, Princess Devyani—the epitome of beauty, as if she had stepped straight out of a dream. Her skin glowed like polished sandalwood, warmed by the sun's embrace, while her long, luxurious black hair flowed down her back, cascading in waves and adorned with delicate golden hairpins, symbols of her regal status. Her almond-shaped eyes, framed by thick lashes that danced like silk in the breeze, sparkled with a kind of soft fire, intensified by the kohl that accentuated their beauty. Her perfectly arched brows conveyed both strength and gentleness, while her nose—delicately sculpted—bore a subtle diamond stud that caught the light just so. Her figure, reminiscent of grace itself, spoke volumes—a slender waist, gently curving hips, and shoulders that carried the proud elegance of a seasoned dancer and rider.

I found myself gazing at her, momentarily lost in reverence, until I noticed her expression shift—an intensity growing in her gaze. Realizing the gravity of my position, I dropped my head, bowing deeply as I uttered, "Long live the princess." In a voice that was a harmonious blend of melody, confidence, and quiet authority, she commanded, "Raise your head." I did as instructed, utterly captivated by her presence. "For what purpose have you halted our path?" she queried, her tone both inquisitive and regal.

Trapped thought Veer now you won't be able to do anything rather than accepting my plea or threat. I plan to dominate this place and you will be the first stone that i will be stepping one.

"Your Majesty," I began, trembling slightly, "this humble servant has traveled from a far-off place and has suffered at the hands of bandits who robbed and beat me. I bow before you in prayer for your assistance." With hands clasped in supplication, I repeated my bow, surrounded still by the imposing figures of guards and their weapons.

Now lets see if my acting have any effect on you thought Veer as from your rumours i can tell what kind of person are you and what will be the trigger and how i can keep using you in the future.

Her gaze softened, a signal that could only be described as profoundly generous. "Our kingdom has always welcomed travelers and stands ready to assist the needy. Come to the palace tomorrow—His Majesty will himself see to your needs." With a gentle wave of her hand, the guards retreated, their weapons lowered. "Long live the princess," I exclaimed, sidestepping from her path as the chariot continued on its journey toward the palace, which now felt like my only hope.

In that fleeting moment, I became acutely aware of the impression I had made—my wet, muddied clothes, torn and ragged, my hair a tangled mess, and tears glistening in my eyes. Such a sight surely left its mark on her; I was convinced she would not soon forget me, perhaps even be unable to rest easily that night.

Jerking me back to reality, Rahul jolted me with a question, "What was that all about?" And it was then that I realized, amidst the whirlwind of beauty and chaos, that when I had laid eyes on her, my heart had whispered to me, telling me that she was the one who could extend a hand of hope and salvation. Rahul looked at me as if I were a fool for stating the obvious, his expression a mix of incredulity and bemusement. "Anyways," he added, changing the subject, "have you thought about where to eat or where to sleep tonight?" It was then that I became aware of the setting sun and my own gnawing hunger, as I stood amidst the vibrant kingdom, certain of my next move in this unfolding tale.

I shook my head gently, signaling my response to his question with a soft-spoken "no." I couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity as he leaned in, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "You have to know about this place, especially designed for travelers like you, where you can eat and sleep for free," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. The idea was captivating! Free lodging and meals? My mind raced with questions. "But who takes care of it? Who maintains such a generous haven?" I asked, genuinely intrigued.

"His Majesty himself," he replied with a grin, as if revealing a prized secret. His words filled me with delight. It was a short 15-minute walk to this blessed place, and my feet quickened in anticipation. Each step felt lighter as I followed the path toward the promise of hospitality.

Now let's see what my father inlaw has prepared for me, as i decided to marry his daughter and rule his kingdom for myself and in my way. Whoever will come they will be nothing but just be tool for, i will use every knowledge i have and gain the power that will be unfathomable to all.

As I finally approached the entrance, I was met with an impressive gate adorned with ancient, weathered floral carvings. The tall oil torches flanking the sides cast a warm amber glow, welcoming me into a wide rectangular courtyard that felt like stepping into a different world. At the center, a magnificent banyan tree stood tall, its roots cascading down like the beard of a wise old monk, providing a sense of sacred stillness. Beneath its branches, an elderly man stirred lentils in a large iron cauldron, his movements methodical and soothing. The delightful aroma of spiced dal mixed with the faint scent of wood smoke enveloped me, warming my heart more than any blanket could.

"Not bad" said Veer silently, "they said that the diet of ancient times were best as they were pure organic and fresh." Saying this Veer goes into the building to have his share of hospitality.
