I think I might be in way over my league here" Leo reasoned as his eyes searched for a way to escape this situation.
With a laugh Vilfortz charged forward holding what seemed to be a scythe made out of bright red blood that dripped every time the elf swung it. The scythe came down in a downward slash that attempted to split Leo in half, Leo (still in his panther form) attacked back with a wicked swipe of his claws that clashed with the polearm. The blood scythe split into four leaving Leo's paws stained with bright red blood, and consequently leaving the possessed elf unarmed.
Using a lethal pounce Leo crashed onto the elf his fangs aiming for the elf's neck. Vilfortz placed his hands around his neck, struggling to dislodge the panther.
"Not bad human" the elf laughed, before stabbing Leo with numerous barbed blood spikes. Growling wildly, Leo struggled to escape the spikes embedded deep into his flesh that kept on drawing him closer to the lying elf. "I knew it; he is absorbing my blood" Leo cursed, the blood loss making his vision a little blurry.
Eventually he stopped struggling leaving the demon mad with joy as it continued to suck more blood.
Then after what seemed to be an agonising long minute Leo with a mad roar jumped backwards using the demon's body as a launch pad, escaping the spikes that left his body riddled with numerous tiny holes.
The demon roared in pain getting to his feet while the intestines of his elf host fell out the gaping hole in the abdomen that Leo had made with his rear claws during the jump. After his timely escape Leo broke into a sprint, heading into the forest.
The demon seeing the fleeing panther laughed "There shall be no escape for you Panther". Another blood scythe in an instant formed giving the demon courage to give chase.
Leo increased his pace but still was not running at full speed due to the amount of blood that he had lost from the blood spikes and his earlier injury. This of course made the mad demon to catch up leaving Leo no choice but to fight his way out of this. With another slash the demon's scythe travelled through the air, blocked by Leo's dagger. The blood scythe on striking the dagger became alive flowing onto his weapon and pulling the assassin towards the demon. Leo didn't resist the pull and instead slashed the air with his right dagger. The ghostly slash travelled with speed severing the elf's head , the head as Leo had expected didn't fall to the ground but remained hanging from little blood threads that slowly brought it back in place.
A violent twist of his left dagger freed Leo from the scythe and he disengaged in order to study his opponent's move and give himself some breathing room.
"Well played human, it seems you will be worth more alive than dead". The demon clapped, as an even bigger scythe formed in his hands, a dark red cloak covered his body thus giving him the look of a red grim reaper.
Vilfortz pale body charged forward performing series of slashes that Leo kept on evading all the while looking for an opening. The demon who was getting impatient, with a sudden burst of energy performed a horizontal slash that was aimed at decapitating the assassin's chest from his body.
Leo dodged the slash, bending backwards before he kicked off with a handstand that was quickly followed up by gripping the demon's neck feet first, throwing it onto the ground with a force that broke the neck on impact with the floor.
The move that had been performed left the demon in shock and most importantly pain.
Leo got to his feet panting from tiredness and the wounds that littered his body. The demon staggered to his feet; his neck bent at an awkward angle but his face still bearing an evil grin.
The elf's body on the other hand was pale to the extent that his veins could be seen through the parchment like skin. "You don't have much time left demon" Leo grinned, spitting a small globules of blood as he held his daggers in an attacking stance.
The demon taking a look at his host's body smiled "You are quite right human, your blood and that of this elf has almost been exhausted but I can assure you that we both will leave this mortal realm tonight".
After saying this, the demon cloaked his body with even more blood, two monstrous horns forming on the elf's head while another pair of large leather like wings sprouted out from the back,
With a flap of his wings the demon took to the skies, smiling as a blood red bow formed in his hand. Leo sensing a disturbance in the air, rolled to his left seconds before a dark red arrow crashed into his original position.
More arrows rained down threatening to drown the assassin but Leo stood firm; his eyes glowing bright in the night as he tapped into a power that he had not used for quite some time.
"When all of this is over, the order of the sun shall answer some questions" Leo said to himself for he wondered why his order had to always perform the 'sun's duty.
With a very loud bestial roar Leo shifted into his panther form. On close observation one would see small blue patterns running over the feline's body that grew bigger in every passing second.
The demon in the sky laughed maniacally when he noticed that the panther hadn't even tried to dodge the attack and kept on standing in one place while its body kept on being littered with holes.
Suddenly a shift was felt in the atmosphere and before the demon could fly or evade the impending attack, a bright blue beam of light shot out from the now glowing panther's mouth.
The beam passed through the demon's chest and continued to travel forward splitting the clouds to reveal a bright full moon. The demon with one final maniacal laugh collapsed to the ground, a massive hole in his chest. Some seconds later the elf's body lost the red aura surrounding it and turned back into a disgusting corpse riddled with ghastly wounds.
With a satisfied smile Leo laid on his back observing the skies while he waited for the Order of the sun to come and investigate the spatial disturbance...
Meanwhile in a bright white castle an old woman looked at the now clear skies before shaking her head in pity "The time has come for order and chaos to meet again".
