Location: Sector 12 Bunker, Ruins of New York
Date: March 5, Year 2090 – 3 hours before Omega-Z Activation
> "We were just kids… but we were all that was left."
The Earth was gone.
Not in fire. Not in silence.
But in chains.
The skies were red, blackened by Rift storms. Broken satellites floated like ghosts above the horizon. Skyscrapers crumbled into skeletal remains, gnawed by time and beasts alike. This was not the world it once was — this was what came after the Demon King crossed over.
They summoned a hero to stop him. He devoured their world instead.
What remained of the fantasy realm collapsed into Earth, and with it came a darkness humanity was never meant to face.
The war lasted only two years.
And Earth… lost.
Now, fifty years later, in the belly of a shattered bunker deep beneath the old ruins of New York, a small group of children sat huddled in silence.
They wore gray uniforms — each etched with a barcode and a digitized wristlock. Children trained as soldiers. Survivors of the resistance. The last of humanity.
The oldest among them, a girl with faded white hair and bandaged hands, stood before a humming machine: the Omega-Z Reactor.
She turned to the others, eyes cold with purpose.
> "This is it," she said. "We either stay here and die… or go back and give the world a chance to fight."
One boy, barely twelve, raised a trembling hand. "But… the past can't stop him. They're weak. They don't even know what's coming."
The girl nodded. "That's why we change the past."
She turned to a panel marked:
> [EXECUTION CODE DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM – AUTH LEVEL: Ω]
Her voice cracked as she input the command.
> "Initiate System Injection. Location: Earth-Prime. Year: 2040."
The lights around them flared red. The machine roared to life.
Dozens of glowing tubes filled with swirling red binary floated from the core — each containing a unique Execution Code.
Another boy — taller, silent, his arm cybernetic — stepped forward. He looked toward the surface.
> "No one can know who we are. Not even them. Not even the ones we train."
> "We become shadows," the girl said.
> "And the Execution Code?" someone asked.
> "We give it to adults who are strong," the girl whispered. "And can stop this war, we won't have to lose. "
> "And when the Demon King returns?"
She looked up at the last screen — one that showed a portal on the moon already beginning to crack.
> "They'll be strong enough to stop him."
---
Above the ruins, on the surface, a red rift trembled in the sky.
Somewhere in the broken world, the Demon King's voice echoed through the rift. He hadn't moved in years. But he sensed something.
A change.
"They run backwards through time. How human."
"Let them try."
