Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Multiverse

James stared at the pulsing golden energy in his palm, eyes alight with thrill. He raised his hand, tracing a complex rune from Kamar-Taj's deepest archives—a key to dimensional gateways.

"By the ancient gods, open the gate."

His voice, silent in the vacuum, triggered energy resonance. Golden sparks spun, forming a swirling vortex. Unlike Kamar-Taj's neat portals, this gate's edges burned irregularly, as if space itself ignited.

Beyond, a crimson wasteland emerged—twisted mountains like beast spines, purple vortexes in the sky, sulfur tainting the air. Hell Dimension.

"Intriguing."

His super vision pierced the dimensional veil, spotting distant demons in lava rivers and slumbering powerful presences.

As he observed, a truck-sized demon claw lunged through the portal, scales dripping magma.

"Back off," James said coldly, eyes flaring red.

ZAP!

Heat vision severed the claw. The demon's silent scream echoed as its stump retreated. The demon horde stirred but kept their distance.

"Hell's not full of idiots," James chuckled, closing the portal.

He pondered, then targeted the Dark Dimension. "Let's see how tough this dimension lord is."

A new rune formed, energy clashing fiercely as solar power repelled the Dark Dimension's nature. The portal stabilized, revealing endless voids, floating purple crystals, and a massive pair of eyes snapping open.

"Who dares spy on my domain?" Dormammu's voice boomed in James's mind, laced with dimensional authority.

James didn't flinch. "Just a passing Sun God, saying hi."

Dormammu's fury surged through the portal. "Insignificant creature! You dare—"

"Save it," James cut in. "You can't touch me across dimensions. But…" He smirked. "I'll leave you a souvenir."

His eyes blazed blindingly. Magic-enhanced heat vision pierced the portal, striking Dormammu's essence.

The Dark Dimension quaked, Dormammu's roar destabilizing the portal. "You dare—"

"Later."

James shut the portal, silencing the tirade. He analyzed the clash—dimensional magic strength, energy cost, portal stability—all as expected.

"Even a dimension lord can't touch me across barriers," he nodded, satisfied.

"What about other dimensions? Paradise? Distant cosmos?"

He raised his hand for another portal, but—

[Ding! Host is attempting cross-dimensional exploration!]

The system's chime interrupted him.

"Hm?" James raised an eyebrow. "What's up, System?"

[Ding! Host has mastered autonomous dimensional portal creation, unlocking Task System conditions!]

[Multiverse Task Module activated!]

James blinked. "Task System?"

[Yes, Host.] The system's voice echoed. [By thinking 'Multiverse,' a portal will randomly open to a parallel world. Host can accept tasks there, earning Growth Points and rewards upon completion.]

James's eyes lit up. "Tasks? Rewards? Spill."

[Task Module allows Host to accept missions in other universes, completing specific goals. Upon completion, Host can return to this universe, earning Growth Points for the System Mall.]

"System Mall?"

A virtual interface materialized, brimming with items:

[Ding! System Mall preview opened!]

- Kryptonian Armor (Points)

- Codex of Life (Points)

- Doomsday Cells (Points)

- Anti-Monitor Armor (Points)

- Cosmic Treadmill (Points)

- Mother Box (Points)

- Infinity Stone (Single, Points)

- Eye of Agamotto (Points)

- Gungnir (Points)

- Iron Man Nano-Armor (8000 Points)

- Mjölnir (Points)

- Green Lantern Ring (Points)

- …

James scanned the list. Kryptonian armor? Pass—underwear-over-pants wasn't his style. The Codex was redundant with his steel body, but Doomsday cells piqued his interest.

He glanced at prices, wincing. "Ouch, pricey."

[Ding! Host's current Growth Points: 0]

"Got anything cheaper, System?"

[Mall has many modules. Host can explore.]

"Fine, let's test it." James closed the interface, raising his hand, golden energy pooling.

"Random world it is!"

He thought, Multiverse.

HUM!

A portal tore open, its edges crackling with blue arcs, unlike his stable gates. Beyond lay a familiar city—New York. Skyscrapers, traffic, sunlight glinting off Stark Tower.

"Looks like my world?"

[Ding! Detected universe: MCU.]

[Task issued: Shock of the New York Battle.]

[Objective: During the Chitauri invasion, resolve the crisis before the Avengers, showcasing Superman's might!]

[Rewards: 5000 Growth Points, Random Reward.]

James's eyes flashed gold. "Fun."

He stepped through the portal.

Instantly, he hovered above New York, gazing at a city on the brink of war.

"So," he smirked, "time to show this world what a real Superman can do."
