Chapter 27 - “Chips, Coffee, and Crazy Jetpacks”

Morning at the Admiratul Hukm Tower

The morning light slipped through the window of Kaito's room, forming thin lines across the marble floor. The scent of black coffee filled the air — Natasya's handiwork.

Kaito sat at a small table, staring at a mysterious chip in his hand.

The object was silent, yet somehow it felt like it was staring back.

"Still staring at that chip, teacher?" asked Natasya, leaning on the doorframe, her hijab slightly messy. "What are you actually trying to find out from that thing?"

Kaito sighed. "This chip… feels like it has a tracker. I'm not sure it really came from the Service Center at Marry Academy."

Mira raised an eyebrow. "Then you should go to Aethertech Academy. The kids there are tech geniuses. They can tell the difference between normal data and something that hides a secret."

Kaito looked at the chip for a moment, then slipped it into the inner pocket of his coat. "I already know. Mila told me about that academy — and Mira explained it in detail. So yeah, I've got a decent idea of what I'm walking into."

Natasya nodded. "That's good. But please be careful — there's a rumor that someone at Aethertech Academy is working with one of the top ten fugitives still on the wanted list."

"Oh, okay. Thanks for the coffee," Kaito replied flatly.

He stood up and started to leave, but Natasya spoke again.

"Oh right, I forgot to tell you — Mag and Anwar are calling for you at Oxoford Academy. They said they have something important to discuss."

"Got it," Kaito replied simply.

In his heart, he already knew… that small chip in his pocket might not be just a piece of tech.

It might be the beginning of something he never expected.

Oxoford Academy Library – Morning

Sunlight streamed through the tall library windows, painting golden lines between rows of old books. The sound of a slow-turning fan and the faint smell of dust and aged paper filled the room.

Kaito walked in quietly, his footsteps echoing across the marble floor. He looked calm, but his eyes were as sharp as ever. In the corner of the room, three figures were waiting — Anwar, Mag, and… for some reason, Sigma, who was crouched in the corner fiddling with a laptop glowing with RGB lights.

Kaito took a long breath.

"So… this is why I was called to the library?"

Anwar smiled politely, closing a thick book. "Teacher, tomorrow morning you'll need to go to the theater at Elizabeth Academy. There's an important meeting there."

Kaito frowned. "That's it?"

Anwar nodded lightly. "Yes. That's all we were asked to tell you."

Kaito rolled his eyes, glancing at Sigma, who was still busy plugging cables into the table. "And why is this strange creature here?"

Sigma immediately stood up, adjusted his cap, and replied proudly,

"Bored. I'm bored, so I came here. The world needs balance between productivity and random existence."

Kaito gave him a flat look. "So you came to the library… just because you were bored?"

Sigma nodded confidently. "Yup. Boredom is an art form."

Kaito facepalmed. "Unbelievable… I came all this way just to hear this short message?"

Mag, leaning against the wall while playing with his pale-blue phone, chuckled. "Heh, relax, Teacher. I bet you're planning to head to Aethertech Academy after this, right?"

Kaito turned to him. "Yeah. How'd you know?"

"Because it's written all over your face," Mag replied with a sly grin. "Just borrow Sigma's jetpack. He says it can automatically fly to Aethertech Academy — no manual controls needed."

Sigma froze mid-typing and looked up sharply. "Wait—no! That jetpack's still in AI autopilot experimental mode! It's not stable yet!"

But Kaito was already walking toward him, wearing that calm-but-dangerous smile.

"Sigma, can I borrow that jetpack?"

Sigma hesitated, then shrugged. "Well… if you're the one asking… sure. But don't blame me if you end up in another dimension."

Kaito picked up the jetpack — a sleek device with glowing blue pipes and folded metal wings. He inspected it briefly, then looked toward Anwar and Mag.

"If I don't come back within twenty-four hours, tell Zaid… I got lost because of my overly creative students."

Anwar tried not to laugh. "Understood, Teacher."

Kaito sighed softly, then pressed the button on the jetpack's side. Blue lights flared.

BRRRRRRRMMMM!!!

"HEY—HEY—!" Kaito barely had time to react as the jetpack activated on its own. He shot upward, completely out of control—

"SIGMAAA!! THERE'S NO BRAKE ON THIS THING!!"

Sigma calmly put on his headset. "Yeah, that's the brake-less version, Teacher. Enjoy your Turbo Spiritual Journey Mode!"

BOOOOM!!

The library ceiling exploded open. Books flew everywhere as Kaito blasted out like a meteor, debris crashing onto the floor, followed by a blaring emergency alarm.

Anwar looked up at the gaping hole, torn between shock and resignation. "Good heavens… the roof is gone…"

Mag burst out laughing, crossing his arms. "Well, this time, the 'Flying Teacher' really is flying."

Sigma stared at the massive hole, then patted Anwar's shoulder casually.

"Relax. I'll replace the ceiling later — with an RGB version. It'll be aesthetic."

Anwar gave him a weary look. "Please… don't you dare."
