After browsing through the textbook, Kazuki discovered the basic principles of essence. Firstly, essence is divided into five categories and the category gained varies according to the individual.
There's the Natural/Elementalist Essence, the Royal essence or otherwise called, the Knight's essence, Alchemist Essence and lastly the Hunter's essence, also known as the beast essence.
Essen-Users that belonged to the Natural essence type utilize the elements of nature, water, earth, fire and air. Individuals belonging to the Royal essence utilize unique abilities which is considered one of the strongest essence in the kingdom, however they belong to Royal blood.
Alchemist Essen-Users possess the ability to manipulate the laws of physics and reasoning, the Zen essence, which commands forces beyond the elements of nature and finally the Hunters essence, there wasn't much information about it because in the history of this world, only one person had ever awakened such essence.
"That's odd." He muttered as he reread the passage. According to the book, there were only five types of essence, yet he didn't fit into any of them.

"What!?" He could hardly believe his eyes, not only has his stats risen, he leveled up by three?
"Awesome... Did I level up that much just by clearing a D-rank dungeon? No, that's not it." He rested a hand on his chin, analyzing the situation. Regardless of where the dungeon came from, it was still D-rank, and while leveling up at a fast pace was possible, it shouldn't be by this much.
"Is this also another malfunction?" He couldn't shake the conclusion. Ever since the threads of fate meddled in his reincarnation and the system crashed, its functions had changed entirely. Now, even the Essen-Core he needed to level up seemed to be affected.
"Summoner's Essen-Type?" His eyes fell on his bio-data, his thoughts were right, according to the system, he awakened an Essen-Type that wasn't documented.
"Judging by the name, I guess it's the ability to summon beasts? Right now I consumed more than half of my essence in the dungeon, and since it's a passive skill, summoning would take a great deal of essence which I don't have right now."

"Seriously!?" Wasting no time, and unable to bear the stabbing pain in his midsection, he activated his Shadow Recovery skill.
A blinding light engulfed him, steam rising from his wounds as a mysterious force knit his flesh back together. His fractured ribs mended completely, and in that moment, he felt reborn.
"Holy shit... It really does work." The pain in his midsection subsided, and in that moment, he was back to full health.

A week had passed since his awakening, Kazuki rose to his feet as he just finished his daily quest. He was shirtless, completely drenched by sweat as the 20km run seemed to be the longest out of the three.
"This daily quests sure has it's perks, I can feel my body getting lighter and my strength increasing, if it was the first day it would have taken me 10 minutes to complete 20 pushups, but now I can do so in less than 60 seconds."
"Kazuki hurry up or we're going to be la-" His sister burst into the room and froze, her gaze locking on her brother's bare upper body. It was completely different from the skinny frame she grew up with.
He now had a chiseled jawline and well-defined six-pack abs, with the ridges so sharp they looked as if they'd been sculpted.
"What are you looking at pervert?"
"P-p-pervert!?" She shouted, her blood boiling with a mix of shame and nervousness. "T-that's not it... Have you been working out lately?" Her face was beet red as she tried everything in her power to look away.
'Oh, I get it, she has a big brother complex.' He thought.
"Just a few pushups, so what do you want? Or did you just come here to peek?"
"H-hey! That's disgusting, anyways why aren't you dressed? We're going to be late for the meeting."
"What meeting?"
"Huh!? Don't tell me you forgot!? Kazuki!! This is one of the most important activities of the semester! Mom and dad can't come, so I need a guardian and that's you!"
"Alright alright, I'll be out in five minutes." He sighed, no longer able to endure her constant whining.
"Okay, five minutes, any much longer I'm coming in there!"
"Pervert."
"Hey!"

He slammed the door shut in her face with a loud sigh. "Why couldn't my sibling be a boy, now I have to deal with a siren daily."
In minutes, he had bathed, brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and dressed in an all-black shirt and pants, paired with black leather shoes.
They arrived at his sister's school — Vanguard Academy, and walked through the hallway, heading towards the principal's office.
"Hey look, it's him isn't it? The F-Rank Essen-User."
"You mean the one who couldn't awaken an Essen-Type?"
"He's Yui's brother?"
"That's sad." News spread fast in the country, and as far as the awakening ceremony is comcerned, the results of every awakening was known.
As they walked down the hallway, whispers rippled among the watching students. Yui kept her head down, doing her best to avoid the humiliation of anyone finding out Kazuki was her brother.
"Are you alright Yui?"
"It's alright, let's just keep going." She said bluntly, quickening her pace. Kazuki couldn't care less about their words, what mattered was that he learnt his sister's name before it could lead to trouble.
"So it is you." A voice pulled them back, nd when they turned, they saw a group of boys approaching.
"I never thought I'd see your face here ever again, Kazuki Matasuragi."
