The day of the peace celebration arrives.
Colorful banners wave. The people laugh, drink, dance. A sense of temporary joy floods the streets. The city looks alive again.
But Herzl and Elira are unsettled.
"Everyone's pretending the war is over," Elira says.
Herzl: "Because if they admitted it wasn't… they'd go mad."
A masked stranger appears at the celebration, placing strange cards in people's pockets. Each card bears a single word:
"REMEMBER."
"BETRAYER."
"INNOCENCE."
"GRIM."
The celebration ends in a strange unease. Fireworks burst in the sky—but one bursts too close. A brief panic. No casualties. But it felt like a warning.
