Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Both Pregnant, Heading to Ironforge!

The next day.

It was already noon by the time the three of them woke up from their deep sleep.

Looking at the two women still sleeping beside him, Lane couldn't help but smile gently.

[Not Pregnant]

The Breeder's Gift clearly showed the status of both women. Just as Lane expected, the Birth Rite from The Breeder's Gift didn't actually increase his wives' chances of getting pregnant. If he wanted more children, he'd have to keep working at it.

Counting carefully, besides Freya and Aaron, if Selena and Kailia both got pregnant this time, he would have four children. To unlock the next ability of The Breeder's Gift, he needed five, so he was just one short.

Whether it was Birth Rite, Bloodline Feedback, or even the rarely used Bloodline Link, they were all extremely useful and powerful for Lane, making his cultivation much stronger. So, he figured, whatever the new talent that needed five children to unlock was, it would definitely be something incredible.

And that wasn't all—Selena was an elf, and also the leader of the Nightblade Clan. She was famous for both her skill and her beauty. Any child he had with her would surely bring him even more power in return.

Thinking of this, Lane's smile grew even wider.

Ever since he got The Breeder's Gift, not only was his Knight of the Heart restored, but his days were also getting better and more hopeful. There was always something to look forward to every day.

"Lane Lord, what's making you so happy?"

Selena seemed to have woken up because of Lane's movements. She turned her head, looking a bit shy as she spoke to the man who had spent the night with her.

Lane smiled and pulled Selena into his arms. "I was just thinking about when we should move to Ironforge. We should start packing up our things here."

The Breeder's Gift was the foundation of Lane's strength and survival. It was a secret he could never tell anyone, not even Selena.

This wasn't really a matter of trust. Secrets are best kept when few people know about them. Even though Selena meant Lane no harm and was willing to keep his secret, the world was full of all sorts of strange and unpredictable powers. The fewer people who knew, the safer it was.

Lane definitely didn't want his secret revealed one day, only to become the target of the entire Empire—or even the whole continent.

So, he changed the subject. Moving really was something he'd been thinking about lately.

After Bennett was taken care of, Lane also reported the Iron Guard Clan's activities to the Empire. The Empire took it very seriously, and in just a few months, they had uncovered all the things the Iron Guard Clan had done. They also cleaned up the remaining members, saving Lane the trouble of dealing with them himself.

He didn't want to see any Iron Guard Clan survivors coming back for revenge later.

That's why, after Lane was granted his title, he took over the Iron Guard Clan's lands. Compared to the Berk manor, Ironforge was definitely a better place. Plus, he'd been asked to help investigate the Anti-Magic Stone. For all these reasons, moving to Ironforge was the obvious choice.

"Let's wait a while," Selena said after thinking for a moment. "Sister's youngest son was just born not long ago. Traveling with a newborn is always a bit troublesome, isn't it?"

Hearing this,Lane nodded slightly, then teased her with a grin, "Since when did you two get so close, huh?"

Selena blushed. Lane already knew the answer, but asked anyway.

Even though Selena was actually older than Kailia, she was an elf, so in human years she was about the same age as Kailia. Plus, since Kailia was Lane's first wife, Selena just started calling her sister.

At that moment, Kailia woke up too. Selena was a rogue and an Extraordinary, so she recovered quickly after a night of passion. But Kailia was just a regular person, so she was still a little tired even after sleeping until noon.

"Lane Lord, you really wore us out last night," she said, giving Lane a playful glare. It sounded like she was complaining, but her eyes were full of affection. "It was Selena's first time, you know. What if she couldn't handle it?"

Lane chuckled, "A Transcendent's body is tougher than you think."

"And besides…" He paused, flashing a mischievous smile. "As the older sister, how come you were the first one to give in yesterday? Shouldn't you be setting a better example for your little sister?"

"I think now's the perfect time for a lesson."

Lane suddenly pounced on the two women, and once again, the bedroom was filled with heat and passion.

...

[PREGNANT] [PREGNANT]

A few months later.

Seeing the tags floating above Selena and Kailia's heads, Lane couldn't help but smile happily.

That's more like it. All those sleepless nights and all that effort over the past few months hadn't been for nothing—even if, to be honest, he'd almost overdone it.

Interestingly, maybe because of their different bodies, even though Lane spent most of his time with Selena, she actually got pregnant later than Kailia.

Now that both beauties were expecting, Lane didn't push them anymore. He just put his arms around them and asked, "Are all our things packed?"

Kailia nodded. She knew that Selena, traveling alone, only had the Nightblade Clan elves to bring with her. As for Kailia, she had a lot of connections in Deepwinter City to take care of.

She nodded and said to Lane, "Everything's settled. We can leave whenever you're ready."

Lane looked at the two women beside him and nodded softly. He didn't say anything more, just told the servants to get ready for the move to Ironforge.

Kailia and Selena were both newly pregnant, and Aaron was almost a year old now. With his natural warrior's talent, he was already stronger than most babies, so this was really the best time to set out. If they waited until Selena's and Kailia's bellies grew bigger, even Selena, a Transcendent, would feel it, not to mention Kailia, who was just an ordinary person.

The move took several weeks to finish.

There weren't too many belongings, but packing up everything for the servants and the elves took a lot of effort. Plus, Deepwinter City and Ironforge weren't close, so the trip took a while.

Still, it all worked out in the end. Standing on the main street of Ironforge, looking at the huge manor that used to belong to the Iron Guard Clan and now belonged to the Berk family, Lane couldn't help but smile.

From now on, he could settle down, keep growing the family, improve his knight's aptitude, and slowly become stronger.

Thinking about this, Lane looked at his young son and daughter with more tenderness. They might not be strong now, but once they grew up, their power would become his power too.

Then Lane turned his gaze to Selena.

She was an elf, so their child would be half-human, half-elf—maybe inheriting the best traits of both races. Lane wondered what kind of feedback he'd get from this child.

Like... an elf's long lifespan, maybe?

On Arya, even the Transcendents lived longer than normal, but not by much—a few hundred years at most for a human, which was still just a fraction of an elf's natural lifespan.

If he could inherit that trait...

Lane smiled at the thought. Right then, a gentle voice sounded nearby.

"Sir Lane, my master invites you—and your family—to join him for a small gathering tonight at ten, at the city governor's residence."
