But he knew they weren't.

He whispered—to himself and to the void he had grown so strangely attached to,
"Is this... the afterlife?"
Only one thought remained:
Was he truly dead?

The ancient wooden gate that once stood deep within the void had appeared in front of him.
Symbols glowed brightly on the gate, and something changed yet again.
Error messages popped up, one after another.

Kevin's status had changed on the system panel.

He said softly, still reeling from the system's cryptic warnings.
