Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Timeless System

Waking up again.

Kevin found himself floating in that familiar, comforting expanse of white nothingness—as if his previous experiences had been nothing more than nightmares.

But he knew they weren't.

He knew he had died.

Yet here he was—alive... again?

He whispered—to himself and to the void he had grown so strangely attached to,

"Is this... the afterlife?"

Only one thought remained:

Was he truly dead?

Or was this just another dream?

It was eerie, unnatural, and yet... exciting.

The prospect of living once more was thrilling—

a chance to change the ending he hadn't been satisfied with. The conclusion his story had already reached.

He looked down.

As expected, that strange book—acquired from that old man—was already in his hands.

He had never truly questioned it before, but the connection between the book and the void seemed impossible to ignore any longer...

It was always there. Whenever the void appeared... so did it.

And it had done something beyond extraordinary—it had helped him cheat death.

Opening the book, information flooded his mind once more.

But this time, something was different—the knowledge seemed to help him understand his situation.

And then, it dawned on him.

He was no longer on Earth. He had become what novel enthusiasts would call a "Transmigrator."

And just like any Transmigrator, he also had a cheat—the mysterious book and even the white void itself, were both his "Cheats".

Secretly, he had always wished for a system.

One of those all-powerful tools that helped the protagonist become unstoppable.

But reality had offered him something else entirely—

something older.

Something greater.

Something far more terrifying than any system.

Then something changed again—his surroundings warped.

Space seemed to freeze,

almost as if reacting to his wishes—fulfilling them.

The book flew out of his hands and merged with the very fabric of the void itself.

The part had returned to the whole.

Then, a voice rang out—

cold and mechanical.

Emotionless.

"Welcome to the Timeless System"

[Host: Kevin]

The book had read his mind, and changed accordingly.

Even the void had shifted slightly, seemingly colder than before.

The ancient wooden gate that once stood deep within the void had appeared in front of him.

Symbols glowed brightly on the gate, and something changed yet again.

Error messages popped up, one after another.

[Caution: Host soul unstable. Soul fragment 00 not found!]

Kevin's status had changed on the system panel.

"Host Status panel"

[Host: Kevin]

[Status: Awaiting Fusion]

[Mission: To be assigned]

[Special Ability: All-devouring hunger]

"Fusion?"

He said softly, still reeling from the system's cryptic warnings.

He should have been afraid, seeing terms like 'total soul collapse imminent', but he wasn't.

Because he knew.

He knew that, the book, the void, and even the gate... These weren't his possessions—they had chosen him.

These were powers beyond understanding—and they wouldn't let him die.

Kevin knew he had happened upon the chance to change everything.

To go from what he was before to someone known throughout time and space.

To become...

A Timeless Ruler!
