"Can't win even if everyone goes together?"
"Yeah."
Rin sighed. "This is a special rule of the world we're in."
If you lay a trap for a Campione, not only will you fail to corner him, but you'll instead be creating a grand stage for him, helping him accomplish some great feat.
So, the best method of battle in the Campione world is a one-on-one duel.
Whether it's god versus god, Campione versus Campione, or Campione versus Heretic God.
As long as it's one-on-one, the interference of fate will be minimized.
Throughout history, there have been Campiones who died at the hands of Heretic Gods.
"In other words, numbers are meaningless to Campiones."
Hinata, like Rin, was thinking about how to deal with Heretic Gods and Campiones.
"Alright, let's split up here."
Rin said, "Hinata, you go to Japan. I'll head elsewhere and meet up with you later."
"You're going?"
Hinata didn't resist going back to Japan.
Although it wasn't her true homeland, since it was still Japan, how different could it be?
"We have too many Heretic Gods to summon. Japan is too small to accommodate so many divine descents."
Rin had chosen to head to the area around Greece. He intended to summon the first subordinate to descend in the form of a Heretic God there.
"I understand."
Hinata also had her own plans. She would summon Luminous to the lower realm.
Compared to the other Demon Lords, Luminous was the one Hinata trusted the most.
So, Rin and Hinata acted separately.
The two boarded planes heading to Japan and Greece, respectively.
Their arrival and departure didn't attract anyone's attention.
Luo Hao, the Campione from China, her Five Prisons Holy Sect, and the Divine Ancestors and Heretic Gods hiding in the Netherworld, were still unaware that two outsiders from another world had already arrived.
"How is it, Hinata?"
Inside the Demon Lord's Castle, Luminous looked at another projection, her consciousness delayed by the Immortal Realm, forcing her to abandon observation of the Campione world.
She looked at Hinata, who had been sitting silently for a while.
"Rin?"
Seeing this, Hinata turned to Rin for his opinion.
"Let everyone see."
Rin raised his hand, and two images floated in the air of the Demon Lord's conference hall, displaying Rin and Hinata's current states.
In addition to this live broadcast-style projection, everyone could also immerse their consciousness into the images for a better experience.
"Rin, aren't you and Hinata acting together?"
"Yeah."
It was boring on the plane, so Rin took the opportunity to update everyone on the current situation.
"The Child of Fortune in the Campione world is named Kusanagi Godou. He's currently just a third-year junior high student in Japan."
"In about a month, he'll go to Sardinia to return his grandfather's relic and get caught in a battle between two Heretic Gods."
"According to the original fate trajectory, Kusanagi Godou will use a divine artifact called the Prometheus Stone Tablet to kill a Heretic God named Verethragna."
"Then, he'll obtain the Authority of Ten Incarnations from Verethragna."
It was currently March. Kusanagi Godou's trip to Sardinia would happen around April.
That left a one-month gap.
This was both good and bad.
The good part was that Rin had enough time to make arrangements.
The bad part was that Rin couldn't immediately intervene in the internal conflict between the two Heretic Gods to gain an advantage.
To become a Campione, he had to rely on himself to find another Heretic God.
"However, since we've already interfered with this world's storyline, the original fate is no longer meaningful."
Rin wouldn't allow Kusanagi Godou to become a Campione again.
He didn't like protagonists like him.
Even with immense power, he still acted like a timid coward, as if even a dog could trample him.
Seriously, after becoming a Campione, he still followed others' arrangements.
That was simply a disgrace to the title of Campione.
"What a long trip..."
After nearly 10 hours of flight, Rin finally arrived in Athens.
To be honest, since obtaining magic, Rin hadn't traveled like this in a while.
You might ask, isn't this just a projection?
While it's called a projection, in reality, it's no different from a real body.
So, if something is supposed to be tiring, it's still tiring.
Fortunately, Rin now had top-tier combat power, and his physical condition even surpassed divine beasts in the Campione world.
Still, being on a plane for half a day was bound to be boring.
"Testarossa, Diablo."
After leaving the airport, Rin hailed a taxi to the hotel he had booked in Athens.
After some rest, he finally left the hotel and headed to the Parthenon Temple on the Acropolis of Athens, which he had prepared in advance.
"Bang!"
Arriving at the ancient temple, Rin used this world's magic to disperse the tourists there.
Only then did he begin drawing the ritual array inside the temple for the descent of a Heretic God.
"Is summoning a Heretic God really that easy?"
Watching Rin's actions, Hinata found a chance to ask.
"No."
While manipulating his projected body to draw the array, Rin explained, "A proper Heretic God descent ritual requires three components."
According to the original setting, to summon a Heretic God from the Immortal Realm, three keys were needed.
A miko with outstanding spiritual power.
A priest with a fanatical plea for the god's descent.
And a myth that could serve as the god's physical vessel.
The first two are easy to understand.
The miko guides the descent, and the priest serves as a sacrifice, a blood offering.
As for the third, it's usually something related to the deity, like a holy relic.
"Miko, believer, holy relic."
Hinata was a bit puzzled. "Did you prepare all of that?"
"No."
As Rin spoke, everyone saw his projected body in the image directly slice his own wrist.
The next moment, blood gushed out and splattered everywhere.
"My blood is the best medium."
The ones Rin intended to summon were none other than White and Black...
