Chapter-18: mess caused by meat buns part-1

Wendy Lark didn't respond at all, "Sir, please help me." The jailer was happy to help, but he was deliberately making things difficult for the eldest branch of the Lark family. There was no other choice, so Uncle Lark had to write an IOU.

Anyway, it was just a formality and he had no intention of paying it back. Wendy Lark carefully folded the IOU, put it away slowly, and then picked out a pill from the box. "It's up to you whether to eat or not. If you have any problems, don't come to me. It's useless."

Having said that, I selected them very carefully, hoping that they work and I can live a good life. Neither the original owner nor she had ever been jealous of Jessica Lark. Jessica Lark felt drowsy after taking the medicine. "It's time to eat."

The sound of knocking on the rice bowl was heard. This time everyone went to get food obediently. No matter how bad the food tasted, it was better than going hungry. For the first time in their lives, people who have lived a life of luxury know how painful it is to be hungry.

Wendy Lark and her mother also received some. Each of them received a bowl of thin porridge and two steamed buns. They received food from the very beginning and never skipped a meal.

Wendy Lark was not in a hurry to eat. She broke the steamed bread into pieces and soaked it in the porridge, waiting until it turned into a paste before eating. Mary also imitated her and broke the steamed buns. Oh my god, they were so disgusting. I don't know what was in them.

"Wendy, you've suffered." During the summer vacation in high school, Wendy Lark was sent to a military camp by her grandfather for training, which helped her to develop her independence, sharpen her mind, and learn many skills.

But, no matter how bitter the food was, I had never eaten such terrible food. She is a person who goes with the flow and has low material demands, except for food. She just has to be patient. She smiled sweetly, "It won't be hard if our whole family is together."

Mary eyes were red with tears. She had such a well-behaved and sensible daughter. While they were eating, someone from the Imperial Guard came and the jailer went up to greet him warmly and flattered him.

The person who came was an acquaintance, Daniel walker. He took a few glances and found that the Lark family had all changed. They were no longer as bright and beautiful as before. Their faces were all pale and they looked uneasy.

But the magical thing was that he saw the girl eating porridge in the corner at a glance. She didn't look well, but she was calm. He directly named, "Bring Zaman Lark out for questioning." Two Imperial Guards opened the cell and carried Zaman Lark out.

Zaman Lark's clothes were wrinkled, his beard was untidy, his hair was unkempt, and he smelled bad. He looked flustered. "Master Walker, do you have anything else to ask? I will tell you everything honestly."

Daniel walker did not leave in a hurry, but looked at the crowd, "Miss Wendy Lark." Everyone looked at Wendy Lark in unison, some of them gloating. Is she going to be taken away too? Hahaha, you deserve it.

I made you arrogant, proud, disrespectful to your elders, and unfilial. Especially old lady Lark, a hint of resentment and pleasure flashed in her eyes. Mary nervously grabbed her daughter's hand and her face turned pale.

Wendy Lark gently pushed her hand away and walked over frankly, "Master Walker, what's the matter?" Daniel walker said nothing and handed over an oil-paper bag. Wendy Lark was stunned.

(What was going on?) She looked down and saw six white buns, plump and white, giving off an enticing aroma. Steamed buns were nothing like these. She was stunned. (What was going on?) She counted it again and there were exactly six, no more, no less.

(Could it be... good luck…? Everything will go smoothly? Will the Lark family survive this time? No need to worry about being beheaded?) She looked up and saw a smile flash in Daniel walker's eyes with many thoughts.

(What a smart girl.) He was just returning a favor and making some good connections. It's just a piece of cake, no big deal, and no one can find fault with it. After he left with Zaman Lark, everyone gathered around eagerly,

"What is it? Ah, white bread." My mouth is watering. I want to eat it. I want to eat it like crazy. Wendy Lark waved away the smelly crowd.

(Why were they pushing for it? I know you all crave white bread! However, have you forgotten that the second wife has been excluded and neglected these days?) Ever since she had a falling out with Old Madam Lark, the Lark family has viewed her as a thorn in their side.

If fighting wasn't prohibited in prison, they would probably have wanted to tear her to pieces. Wendy Lark was not affected at all. It was a trick that only three-year-olds would play and they were taking it so seriously.

"How should I know? Go ask Lord Walker." She said and other thought. (Who dares to ask? No one dares to die.) Old Madam Lark asked maliciously, "How could you not know what was going on? You are not a naughty girl at such a young age, and you deliberately teased..."

The gap from falling from the top of the cloud to the bottom of the valley is too big, and his mentality is extremely unbalanced. He was not a kind person to begin with, and he is a little abnormal. She hated Wendy Lark.

How can this be what an elder says? Madam Lark was so angry that she cried. Wendy Lark's eyes turned cold.
